Just come back from Cornwall and decided to stay at Appletree park for a couple of nights.
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady who was very happy to help and guided us to our pitch.
We quickly set up our caravan and decided to put up the awning. As in doing so a gentleman who we later found out was part owner of the park helped us with the awning. The views from the park are amazing and the grass was better then our lawn at home. The new toilet block was very clean and well looked after.
We decided to go to a local pub and the food was fab. All in all a lovely park we will be returning for another visit wish all sites could be more like this.

Really looking forward to our weekend away but the site was not as good as we had been led to believe! We arrived just after 4pm on Friday - the office was closed but a lady very quickly came and checked us in. No complaints about our pitch although it was on a slight hill but we soon set up and enjoyed the sunshine. After a long journey, I needed to visit the Ladies and so popped into the first available loo only to find that it was blocked with urine, paper and bowel waste which had obviously been there some time judging by the odour and discolouration. The cistern handle was broken but there was nothing on the door to indicate that this facility should not be used and nor was the door secured. It took until Sunday afternoon for a notice to be put on the door but the door was still not roped off. The showers were not particularly warm, indeed the wash hand basin taps were hotter and ran for longer than the showers! On the Sunday morning, although I was the only person in the shower block, the shower ran for approx 5 seconds at a time - totally agree with careful use of water but this was ridiculus!
It became obvious to us that cleaning of the shower block was an issue - it had not been attended to for some time otherwise the toilet problem would have been resolved! I went into 3 showers before I found one ( on the Sunday morning) that did not have highly coloured drips of shower gel ( I suppose) on the walls; there was no mop for users to get rid of excess water and the mats in the Hallway leading to the Ladies and Gents, was full of grass from the site which had, one supposed, been recently mowed - this got progressively worse until dealt with some time on the Sunday. Talking to another lady just before I left on the Sunday, she said that she had to go into 2 toilets before she found some toilet paper to use! This is unacceptable - it's not hard to leave a couple of spare rolls somewhere handy in case of need. It was also apparent that the very lovely beamed ceiling hadn't seen a clean for a long while as it was festooned in cobwebs and what was more worrying, the vents in the roof were also grim and dirty.
The site is also poorly lit. There are stylish double lights where the water points are but none of these seemed to be working. These would have helped to light the way down the gravel paths to the facilities. A good addition to the site might be a laundry room which many others of approx same size offer. I am not sure how those who have long leases are expected to do their laundry other than travel to a nearby town - not good when you are paying a lot of money to stay at this site.
On the plus side, the site itself was clean and tidy and the views were amazing. The traffic from the motor way was fairly loud and although this did not bother us, I can see that it might be an issue for some folk.
All it needs is a bit more care and attention and this site could be fab!

I have just returned from Cornwall and on the way home we booked an overnight stop at Apple Tree Park we have stayed here before on a few occasions. The site is convenient as a stop over BUT we noticed a change from our previous visits the new owners have made changes and in our opinion not for the better more pitches have been added but they are not big enough for today's caravans we could hardly open our car door next to the caravan no room for an awning or to sit out it was a lovely day but couldn't do so no room. THE older pitches on the other part of the site were we had stayed in our previous visits were large in comparison I think it's a case of more vans more money from a caravanner of over 30YRS who has stayed on many sites this is one site I will not be returning to.

We are a small family group comprising touring caravans, trailer tent, tent and motor home. We arrived early but the person in the office was pleased that we had as there were lots of people coming in that day as it was the Easter holidays. We were shown to our pitches and as I was first there I was allowed to allocate the other families pitches. My 93 year old Mother needed the pitch nearest the toilet block!
The toilets/showers were very clean and remained that way the 5 days we were there. Some people seemed to have missed the notice on the door asking that the doors be closed as there was underfloor heating, mostly men!
My sister who was opposite me and others in her line did have some problem with the electric cutting out a lot. However the owner who tried to sort it out could not have been more helpful. He found extension leads so that those having problems could use other connection points. As it was Easter, the electrician would come on the Tuesday to fix any problems.
We visited Gloucester where we took a canal boat trip with a very funny commentary, then after hot chocolate we went to the Glosters Soldiers Museum. My grandson 15 and grand daughter 13 enjoyed both.
There is no children's play area, but the children with us ranging from 3 to 15 found enough to occupy themselves, Easter egg hunt, swingball etc.
We had Sunday lunch at the The Beacon Hotel and Inn, Haresfield 12 minutes away, where all the staff were very helpful and the meal was delicious, my sister described as just like home cooked!
The shops at nearby Eastington and Whitminster sold most things you might want.
There was road noise, some of us noticed it but others hardly heard it!
We all enjoyed the holiday.

Apart from the location of this site, only a few minutes from J13 of the M5, there isn't much else going for it.
It is very noisy, as it is quite close to the M5 and A38.
Most of the site is filled with seasonal and 'workers' pitches, which means there are lots of cars coming and going early and late in the day. Not what us true caravanners are used to and made it all feel a bit commercial.
The shower block is quite new and warm, but doesn't seem to be cleaned on a regular basis. We were there for 9 nights and hubby said there was mud in the mens showers that remained uncleaned for the whole period. Apparently the mens toilets are pretty grim too and again not cleaned very regularly. The ladies showers (and the mens) don't drain away very well which means that you're stood in deep water during and after your shower.
Lighting on the site is patchy so take a torch.
Not sure what was going on with the owners/wardens, but we didn't see any sign of them in the 9 days we were there.
On our last day we even came back after a day out and couldn't get back in through the barrier (which had been up for the previous 8 days) and had no code for it. We had to sit and wait for one of the seasonal occupants to come along who happened to know the code.
Very disappointing, and expensive, and won't be returning.

the wife and I have just returned from Apple Tree Park. it was our first time there. What a great place, very quiet site, great staff willing to help at all times, site well kept and clean, toilet/shower block well kept too.
You had plenty of room between pitches without being over looked.
The only faults, if you call them faults were, they had no shop on site selling the basics or newspapers, but hopefully this will come in time, plus chemical waste was a toilet which you flushed and not just a whole
Excellent site will go more often.

Attractive site with lovely views, nice big warm shower block, dish washing are could be a bit bigger as had to wait as it was busy,
The 3 main dislikes are:-
1.
The pitches are mostly on grass and/or on uneven ground, there are some lovely flat pitches and 2-3 which look like they have being done in a hurry so maybe the new owners haven't got round to it yet.
2.
The office was closed when we arrived at 3pm, but we got let in by the warden and directed to our pitch no. But the warden seemed to be a little drunk but at 3pm we were sure it was a little early to be over the limit especially when the site looked busy and the warden was obviously working at the time.
3.
Very dark at night with no lights turned on or maybe they are not working but it's especially important as the ground is quite uneven with large large clippings underfoot,
Hopefully the new owners will sort out the problems at the end of the season as it could be a lovely park to stay a few days.

Good campsite, reasonable fees (only £20 on a Bank holiday weekend, for 2 adults and a dog, including EHU). Friendly staff. There's a Motorhome service point at the entrance so we filled the water tank whilst checking in, also has a grey waste drain that you can drive onto before leaving. Facilities were clean and fit for purpose, could do with a couple more sinks for washing up. Campsite was quite full and had a nice atmosphere.
We walked to Eastington (1 mile) nice village with Co-op which was handy and we also walked to Frampton on Severn - Lovely village just under 2 miles away across the fields (public footpath), there was a cricket match taking place on the village green, we stopped at The Bell for a refreshing drink.

We came here for a long weekend away in clear, chilly and breezy conditions. The site feels as though it's on a knoll and with little spring growth around seemed a bit exposed, therefore. It is also relatively newly constructed and when it matures will probably be a very pleasant summer site.
The welcome was very friendly and we had no problems pitching but the pitch was narrow and we noticed that most power points were 20 metres or so from the pitches - so be sure to remember your 25m hook up lead.
The toilet and shower block is superb. Six of everything in both men's and women's and beautifully clean.
Dog walking is around the site with one large grassed area near the entrance.
Access to the site is easy and it's well placed for large numbers of other places. Slimbridge is one obvious local attraction and there are some interesting nearby villages though none within short walking distance. I'm guessing at the nearest being about a mile and a half.
All in all a neat and comfortable site. Would use again if in the area.

Visited this site the Easter bank holiday. The site is as described perfectly by the previous reviewer. I would just like to add that the site is now under new ownership. The owner said he had owned the site for one month. The new owner has put in some new hardstanding and has maintained the cleanliness of the wash rooms.
On Easter Saturday we walked to the Old Badger Public house, it took us about 25 minutes, left out of the site and left at the traffic lights. An easy walk along footpaths but not well lit. The pub was heaving, although we had booked a table in advance. A friendly welcome from the staff and good bar service with a few real ales. The menu on Friday and Saturday was from the Tapas selection only. A decent selection and we chose the Nachos to start. A generous portion and very tasty, the rest of the food was only average and the waitress service was friendly but quite slow, probably due to the number of diners.
We visited Gloucester city, well worth it, the cathedral and the shopping of an excellent standard. There was also the extra bonus of a food festival at the Quay.
