Recently spent 4 nights here, we were given a very friendly welcome, shown a map of the site and given a choice from pitches that were available - as it was only our second outing with the caravan a drive through pitch was recommended for ease of pitching.
The pitches are very spacious and well laid out and very well kept. The site is very clean with good waste & recycling facilities, the shower block is excellent with under floor heating, lots of cubicles and lots of hot water, and VERY clean
The chemical disposal room is also very good – it is a separate room at the rear of the shower block with flushing facility and hose for rinsing – no nasty smelling hole in the ground with a lid
Fully under cover dish washing facilities looked very nice although we did not use them
There is a reasonable sized area for ball games and exercising dogs
Reception incorporates the shop which has the essentials you may have forgotten
The site is very easy to find and with very good access, good security with key coded barrier
Locally: there is a very nice friendly pub within walking distance 1 mile (Eastington) which is dog friendly, serves good food, real ales, and has a good sized garden.
A fish and chip shop and a takeaway 1. 3 miles, also a very large camping supply store 1. 5 miles away (Attwoolls) both on the A38 towards Gloucester
The only thing which may disappoint some people is the distant traffic noise from the motorway – it did not spoil our visit and we will most definitely be returning

We stayed for 1 night en route to Cornwall and this site did it's job perfectly. Location is great, just off the M5 meaning it was easy to find and would be great for anyone who is travelling from the north and wants to break a journey to Cornwall etc up to make it easier.
I am rating the location an 8 because on 1 hand it was very convenient off the M5 but for longer stays there is not a massive amount within easy reach.
The lady in reception was very friendly and polite and was happy to tell me what was happening in the local area. The pitches were really big and generally very flat and well kept.
The shower facilities are great and really clean. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere on the site and everyone was very pleasant.
My only point of concern is that I am not sure how long it would take to get bored if the weather was poor.
In the sun, great! My daughters loved playing out and there was plenty of space for that to happen. If it rained for a few days then it might become a bit boring and there is not much else to do.
Overall a lovely site though.

What a beautiful little site situated just 1 mile off M5 so an excellent stopping off point for those, like us, returning from Cornwall to the North West.
The owners friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent. After 16 year of caravanning I would put their toilet facilities as one of the best. Good size pitches.
A small shop provides essential groceries. The surrounding countywide is so pretty. We even enjoyed the walk to local village (just over a mile). All in all a gem of a site.
We will definitely be using it again.

We love it so much this is our second visit in 2 months. Facilities are excellent and although it is close to motorway, we were having so much fun (5 units in total) we didn't even notice it!
Most of what you need in shop and only a short walk to village pub for the best of food. Only thing lacking, is something for kids to do.
Play park not needed but a big woodpile would keep them occupied, climbing, bug hunting, etc. It's a very pleasant and relaxing place to be, and we are already planning our next meet as it's a centre point for all of us!

We've not long come back from a weekend at Apple Tree Park and usually my Wife reviews parks and tents and things but I enjoyed my stay here that much I felt I had to give the site a glowing write up.
The site was easy to find from the motorway. Some reviewers mention the noise of the motorway and, whilst being able to hear it, it didn't impact on us whatsoever. I come from a big city so it was just low level background noise and didn't really notice it until asked.
Once in the site we were met by the owners and both were extremely friendly. Both made a large fuss our our little lad and this kind of thing really makes a difference to your weekend away. Also, we were quite early but this wasn't an issue for them and we were allowed to pitch. They also said that we should pop back and see them for info about the site and the surrounding area. The reception also houses a little shop for some bits and bobs, groceries and toys. They can freeze your ice blocks also.
The site is self is fairly small and self contained. It's mostly caravans and motor homes. We went for an electric hook up near the back of the site.
The pitches were slightly sloping but not hugely so. My only complaint about the pitches would be that they aren't the widest in the world and we had to leave the car in front of the tent. I'd prefer, if possible to park it at the side. Reason for this is that the views from Apple Tree, when pitched are fantastic. Everywhere you look and you see something fantastic in terms of view. When sat down I don't want to look at me car. Perhaps removing one pitch and spacing them out a bit?
The facilities are fantastic. Clean, modern and they are rightly proud of them. They were amongst the best I've used on a campsite. They had a family room which we didn't use but looked great if needed with a little one.
Round and about the site there's some things to see. Attwool's, for the camping geeks, is just down the road. The site is by the village of Eastington. About a mile's walk (there's a footpath). There's two pubs. Ignore the first (IMHO) and go to the Old Badger. This is a fantastic pub. Brilliant ales/ciders and wonderful food. Good garden for the kids and lovely service from everyone. We'd go again to Apple Tree purely for this pub! Gets busy on a Friday night though.
The one thing missing from the site would be a little play area for the young ones. Helps when pitching/taking tent down that they have somewhere to go and play on. Aside from that, couldn't have a complaint.
Recommended and we'll definitely be returning!

Reception: Warm reception, very helpful. Only stopped for one night on way back from Weymouth. 1 mile off M5, easy to find.
Pitch: Hard standing, good sized pitch near the reception and toilet block. Must admit, I couldn`t hear any traffic noise, but that doesn`t mean there wasn`t any, as other have commented before.
Facilities: Very clean, with excellent facilities and underfloor heating ! No papers available and I am not sure where the nearest shop is as we were only there for one night.
Dog walk: You can walk the dog on site or walk at the side of the main road, but the path is very overgrown.
Pubs: No pub on site, the nearest is approx. 25 minutes walk down the road, but path is overgrown, better to drive.
Local Transport: Bus stops over the road outside the site, but not often, to go into Gloucester. Timetable in info block. Bit of a long journey but worth it in the end as Gloucester has everything you need.
In summary, a lovely site, but lack of access to pubs and shops could be a problem for some.

My first time ever with a tourer! Was greeted at reception by Jenny who was lovely and friendly. Couldn't have been more helpful and as she knew it was my first time, let me pick which pitch I wanted. The shop was well stocked and at a reasonable price too. Had the weather been slightly warmer would have bought plenty of ice creams at those prices! Plenty of sweets for the kids too.
Once pitched up had a look round the facilities. Immaculate is the only word to describe the shower block and thankfully not cold in there. Very impressed. There is a little book swap shop in the entrance which raises money for cancer research - took advantage of getting some books.
Yes you can hear the traffic and I was dreading it after I read some of the reviews, especially as I live in the country and am used to absolute peace (apart from my kids). It didn't bother me in the slightest - just a drone. Apart from that, the site was lovely and quiet.
The only things missing from the site are a playground for kids (mine are 14, 8 and 6), but they did take advantage - between the rain showers - of having a good run round the dog field and playing footie and a laundry room. Could have done with a tumble drier or even an airing room to dry clothes after visiting Welly Boot Land at Slimbridge WWT.
I guess the question is, would I go back again? A resounding yes, and we've already booked it and would definitely recommend it (especially after seeing a couple of the other sites in the area).

Excellent!
Perfect location, staff friendly, room for children to have a little run around, as long as its not busy!
Camp is on the slightest of slopes.
Toilet block is brill, free showers and hair dryers, and is spotless clean.
There is noise from the motorway, but this didn't bother us in the slightest.
The office is also a shop which sells all your much needed items, including bread, milk, etc
I have four children, one who is autistic, and he found the camp the best one so far! so thumbs up we found a site we all like, (which isnt very often!)
At the bottom of the field you will see lots of different birds, and if your lucky you can hear the baby birds calling there mother for food.
Will be going back in August for 2 maybe 3 weeks as we loved it that much.

Have just returned from a lovely stay at this site over the Jubilee weekend. We were given a warm welcome from the lady owner and given some local information.
We were in a family group and were all pitched together as requested when we booked. There were several such groups and a lot of people entered into the spirit of the weekend and were displaying numerous flags and bunting.
The site is easy to find situated between the A38 and M5. We could hear some noise from the M5 but it was not intrusive. This is a nicely laid out site with grass and hardstanding pitches.
It is nice that tents, caravans and motorhomes can all pitch together. The toilet block is beautiful with six showers, six toilets, six washbasins and six cubicles in gents and ladies. It is all spotlessly clean and warm and a pleasure to use.
Despite the weather we had a good time and will definitely come back.

Lovely site. A warm friendly welcome on arrival at reception, given a map to help find our pitch. The reception also houses a little shop with drinks and foodstuffs.
The site is a mixture of gravel and grass pitches.
The noise from the motorway is clearly audible. (I live right next to the M3 and I felt the road noise was louder even though it was further away!) So, if you want absolute peace and quiet, this might not be the site for you.
The site is on a slight gradient.
There is a lovely bird that will chirp at 5am in the morning, and if you're lucky enough to be camped right by the tree it sits in (can you guess we were. ?) you can be sure of a nice early wake up call!
The washing facilities were excellent. There were individual washing stations that you could close the door behind for extra privacy which I really liked. The toilet/shower/wash station block was kept spotlessly clean.
The washing up area was inside too, although there were only two stations, so that could be a bit problematic if there were a lot of people on site.
Overall a very pleasant site that has lots of potential.
