We have just returned from a 3 day break and can recommend this site,
The owners on arrival were more than helpful and informative, sharing their knowledge to the local attractions where to visit and the local amenities,
All in all we spent a good three days. The shower block is excellent clean, warm what more could you want,. The site is well maintained and clean
There are local attractions on hand Slimbridge 10mins, Gloucester, Stroud, too much to mention so we will need to go back and spend some more time there once again
I will fully recommend this site

Fantastic campsite one off the best I have stayed on. Owners very friendly. Toilets and showers one of the best I have ever seen, spotless, nice underfloor heating. Also had books and things for sale as you go into the toilets, all proceeds for charity, great idea. Site easy to get to. Well kept, nice large pitches. Owners said they will be adding to the shop soon but garage just down the road if you need anything (shop on site that has some useful bits but did not see any food) You will not be disappointed if you stay there, will be going back with out a doubt

This is our 3rd visit this year to this excellent site. There is more to it than just a convenient stop-over off the M5 when travelling to/from Devon/Cornwall. The area has so much to offer that it warrants a longer stay [Gloucester Docks & Cathedral, Slimbridge, Stroud Farmers Market, Severn Bore, Gloucester & Sharpness Canal etc etc].
We agree with all the previous good comments about the friendly welcome and the site itself. In addition it has excellent recycling facilities for everything - including plastic and cardboard.
We'll be back again.

We used this site for an overnight stop on our way back from Cornwall for its convenient location off M5. Very easy to find off M5 but don't use your sat nav. We phoned the site prior to arrival for directions and glad that we did as sat nav would have sent us in opposite direction.
On arrival we were told to choose our pitch. There is easy access to all pitches from gravel roads around the site and pitch sizes are extremely generous. Facilities are top class and equal premier caravan club sites.
At £16 for the night we thought that this site represented extremely good value for money with 5 star amenities block. Good local pubs nearby to have a meal at. We would definitely stay longer to explore the area and it will be a definite stopover for our return travels from Cornwall.

Great but limited site. As previously mentioned the toilets and showers are some of the best we've seen. Generous pitches, and reasonable prices.
No playground is a minus but there is a large, sloped field next to the pitches with adequate space for older kids to play.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, and there is a pub within walking distance advertising two meals for £10, but can't comment as we did not visit.
Noise from motorway is background at most. All in all, would make a great stopover if travelling further south.

What a lovely campsite with new facilities the toilet/shower block was excellent plenty of hot water and spotlessly clean.
We had a lovely large pitch and we were able to pitch wherever we wanted. The site had a friendly atmosphere and pitches were quite level. A fairly new site which I'm sure will go from strength though strength.
Not much on the site but lots to do in the surrounding area was perfect for our weekend stay. Found it an ideal location for visiting Slimbridge WWT. Local shop, pub and takeaway at Whitminster which were all very good value for money and only a couple of minutes drive on A38. Will return and bring the kids next time!

This is an super site with very generous size pitches, the grass is kept short and everything is tidy, the toilet block is spotless and the showers are also a good size with an endless supply of hot water, good dish washing facility's are situated are at the rear of this toilet block.
An added bonus is that Attwools camping centre is only a mile or so along the A38, so if you need anything camping related it will be available there.
Would recommend this site for anyone visiting the Cotswolds or Forest of Dean area, and at only £15 per night electric included has got to be a real bargain.

Good welcome on arrival - allowed to choose any pitch we wanted.
Toilet block as stated before is new and was spotless at all times even over the busy weekend.
Plenty of places to visit within a reasonable distance (ie within 60 minutes) - Slimbridge, Gloucester, Bristol / Bath, Stroud
Noise from M5 is there but you get used to it
No washing machine or child play area but our 2yo son wasn't bothered he just wanted to watch the sheep!
No food available to buy on site but a garage down the road to get the essentials and about 10 supermarkets within a 10 mile radius (as the crow flies as per the companies websites). You can get gas, dog treats, and toothbrushes on site though

We stayed here for a weekend in a tent as it is fairly local to us and avoids the M5 parking lot on a Friday night! The owners are so helpful and jolly, they really make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble for them. As everyone has said the toilets/shower block is second to none that I have ever used on any site. The closest to them is at Bowdens crest. They have an array of books with a 20p donation to charity and have letters pinned up showing donations from month to month from the charity.
We had a lovely level pitch which we were able to choose ourselves. There is a Chinese, Indian, fish and chip shop/takeaway within 5 minutes drive of the site so we never cooked once! Gloucester Quays is only 10 minutes away with it's museums, boat trips and newly opened designer outlet. The Gloucester/Sharpness Canal is on the doorstep for walks and bike hire is available at Slimbridge.
All in all,a fantastic site in a great location will definitely be returning time and time again.
Well done Apple Tree Park, the site is a true credit to you.

This is an odd site with many plus points but a few minuses too.
We would like to re-visit in a couple of years when it has matured as it is a new site.
The welcome was lovely and we were given a choice of pitches. We were en route to the SW so stayed 2 nights in a small tent but we would have struggled if we had our main tent as the pitches are close together.
There are thoughtful touches such as the pathways and the supply of drinking water taps spread throughout the site.
The toilet and shower block is wonderful and for the money charged (£17) was good value.
We had a lovely view of the M5 and unfortunately as the nights were still we could hear it all too clearly - all night!
The other thing about the site was it was a bit soul-less. Despite the number of children on site there just was not any happy play or chatter. This made for a lovely peaceful site at night - if it was not for the drone of the M5!
We would really recommend the Bell Inn at Frampton on Severn - great food and of course Slimbridge Wetlands and Wildfowl Trust. We had a lovely day there and it's only a couple of miles away from the site.
We will come back in a couple of years to see how it has developed.
