We have just returned from 5 glorious days at Yaxham Waters. This campsite is a real gem.
After a long journey from Yorkshire in the blistering heat, we were welcomed by a very friendly owner (Pablo) who handed out ice creams to the kids. Jack (The Warden) then showed us to our pitch.
We were located in the EH camping area which also allows campfires. Our location could not have been better, we were close enough to the toilet block, we also had one of the fishing lakes right on our doorstep (but not too close to worry about the kids)
This is a quiet site, but that is a bonus to us. It has a small park area, goats & chickens which kept the kids entertained for hours and a well stocked farm shop & reasonably priced cafe.
There was no long list of rules, just the wish to have a good stay.
The kids loved the fishing lakes, which appeared to be very well stocked. The weather was beautiful which is always a bonus.
It is approx 40 mins in any direction to visit various activities in the area, during our stay we went to Wroxham to hire a boat on the broads, we travelled to Sheringham for a few hours on the beach and the rest of the time we sat relaxing in the sunshine, very much our kind of camping trip.
We would definitely return.

We have just returned from a lovely week staying in a Yurt at Yaxham Waters. We were met by Shane when we arrived and he showed us around the Yurts, Tipi and Bell tent.
Everything you could need is provided for you, and staying in the Yurt is magical. As seasoned campers we are used to setting up and taking down our tent in all weathers.
Glamping ensures whatever the weather you don't need to worry. We stayed in the Cloud House Yurt and it was so much better than the website could show.
The on site facilities were good, the cafe has reasonably priced food-as does the farm shop.
The location is close to many places to visit, the Broads and Pensthorpe wildlife reserve are a must.
We will definitely return next year, and probably for many after that. We would recommend a Yurt holiday for anyone in doubt.

Stayed here for a weekend in our tent. We are very local so wanted to stay somewhere within half an hour from home for a quick break with our two young children.
We chose this site based on the reviews here and from it's a description. We tend to stay clear of big commercial sites, but wanted somehwere with decent bathroom facilities and basic things for the children to do.
I would say we would probably return, although the site wasn't as great as I'd hoped. I will list the pros and (slight) cons below:
Pros:
Very friendly, nice and pretty, not too big, lovely fishing lakes (with loads of fish!), practical shower and toilet areas which are good for young families, imaginitive play area (my two loved all the little tikes cars and the sandpit), nice cafe, well stocked shop.
Cons:
Pitches in the area we stayed are too close together (in the hook-up & campfire section), showers and toilets are not clean enough (satisfactory, but certainly not the cleanest I've seen especially the floors), site was a bit noisy on the Sat night which seemed to mainly be fishermen and long stay people driving through the campsite too fast and quite late at night.
In conclusion, I'm glad we found this local site and will probably return for a short breaks. It's great for the children, without being tacky and over commercialised. However, we would probably sacrifice the luxuries for the weekend and stay in the non-electric camping section at the back of the site, as it was much more open and spacious. This site has the potential to be brilliant, just falling a little short in certain areas.

We originally booked a pre-pitched tent via 'Go Camping UK' but after one night (and really heavy rain) we were flooded out. Instead of spoiling our holiday we spoke to Pablo (the site director)and arranged to move into a semi-detached lodge.
The facilities at the site were fantastic (even before we moved). The new shower/toilet block is lovely, very clean. Only missing a hairdryer for those of you that need one!
The on site licensed cafe is terrific. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. All the food (cakes etc) is apparently cooked on site.
There is a well equipped on site farm shop too. This stocks everything you will need for your holiday and much more and is reasonably priced.
There is plenty to entertain little ones. My 2 year old daughter had great fun watching and feeding the chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits and goats. There is also a little play area with sandpit and toy cars for smaller ones which kept her amused while her dad and I had a little sit.
Finally the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always friendly and polite.
If the weather isn't great or you just need a break from camping, try the semi-detached lodges. They are light, warm and really comfy. Great access for the on site fishing!

Stayed on the Nature's Path yurt and tipi site which is part of Yaxham Waters during a very rainy week. The site is nice if pretty small, has gravel paths for driving to your pitch and so on; the ground got very squelchy by Friday but as it was so quiet there weren't too many muddy patches.
There are several fishing lakes for anglers and part of the site is given over to luxury lodges which can be bought or rented weekly. We were impressed by the farm shop which has everything you might need including fresh veg and frozen chips!
It's also pretty reasonably priced especially in comparison to Cambridge where we live. The cafe was also good, very friendly and helpful service, the food was great and good prices too. There was a lot of wildlife about, ducks and geese and tons of rabbits in the evenings.
We enjoyed the rescued chickens wandering round the site and visiting us at our yurt, and my friend who's a train fan liked watching the Mid Norfolk Railway which runs alongside the site and has old-fashioned trains occasionally during the day.
The toilet and shower block was clean enough, no smells or mess, but not completely spotless - there was as sign up saying a mop was available but I couldn't see one to use. We pretty much had the block to ourselves as there was only one other couple staying on the tipi site and all the lodges and motorhomes had their own loos! A lot of attention seemed to be paid to mowing the grass - might be a better balance to get someone to clean the toilets every couple of days instead.
The yurt site is great if you like green living. We enjoyed having a woodburning stove in the yurt in the chilly wet weather and got the hang of lighting it in no time.
The location of the site is great for touring, 20-30min drive to Norwich which has lots to see and do, easy to get to Cromer and lots of local attractions as well.
If I have one criticism of the site it's that the fact it's dominated by luxury lodges makes it eerily quiet in the evenings - a bit like suburbia with everyone shut away in their houses, instead of being able to see your neighbours enjoying themselves. Personally I've always liked that about camping but I guess too much quiet is better than too much noise!

We visited this site for a long weekend as it is nice and close to us.
We stayed on the camping field without ehu where we were able to pitch wherever we liked.
The toilet facilities were very clean but there are no shelves in the shower area leaving you no where to put your clothes etc. The whole shower cubicle also gets wet leaving you no were to get dressed.
The site itself is very peaceful with the only noise being the steam train that passes regularly along the back of the site.
My husband and children all had a go at fishing and caught regularly which kept them entertained. We enjoyed the use of the campfire in the evening which was good value for £15 for the wood, firelighter and matches along with washing machine drum to house fire, which worked very well.
We have tried to return to this site but they no longer allowed camping in the field we stayed in and we found the ehu field they now use for camping to be a little cramped when we were there.

Our very first camping experience together and what a great site to have picked! Very impressed with this site, facilities excellent, toilets, showers etc all top notch. Friendly warden and staff and a lovely cafe on site where we had our brekkie! Cafe even offered lunch and dinner and also licensed to sell beers to wash it all down! A well stocked shop with most of what we needed, even a good selection of the local ales! We did miss not having a closer pub though, and when we did trek to the nearest pub on Sunday afternoon, it seemed closed?
The town of Dereham only a mile down the road and everything that a market town usually has to offer can be found there. Clean, quiet and friendly site so a nice relaxing break was had. If we have any gripe at all it would be the barrier to the site being lowered at 8pm so if you wanted to go out in the evening, either leave the car or be back in time not to be locked out!

Just returned home after staying for 6 nights here. It was supposed to be 7 nights but the torrential wind and rain was hard to bear. We lost our gazebo, windbreaker and very nearly out Sunncamp 500 trailer tent.
This site is fantastic! We will definitely be visiting in the near future.
We stayed on Pitch 13, right near to the shower block, toilets and washing up area, in the campfire field. Sadly only got to have 1 pit in the 6 days we were there. (due to the weather).
We paid £31 per night for 2 adults, 3 kids, 1 dog and trailer tent and an EHU on the fire pit field.
The toilet block is one of the best I have seen. Lovely disabled facilities, big wet room and toilet. Everyone was using it as a family bathroom when we were there. Always clean and tidy, not massive but then the site isn't massive.
The warden we met, Jack was great, very helpful. The stand by warden Andy was really nice too. Knows the area well so if you need help with the local knowledge, he is your man.
There are 2 lovely small lakes on the site, well stocked with carp and roach. We were catching fish one after the other! Never known anything like it. The fish aren't keen on corn but they loved bread!
Lovely little shop. Not too expensive, has everything you would need. Not sure about £7 for a bottle of wine mind you! If you need a bigger store then Tesco, Lidl and Morrisons are a 5 min drive away.
We had a pot of tea in the cafe (that we got free as we spent over £10 in the shop!). The food looks good and is apparently lovely but we never got round to trying it. All staff very nice and friendly.
Outside the cafe and shop they have a large children's play area, swings, sandpits etc and outside the little fence is a chicken coop and 2 pygmy goats! Children can collect the eggs and take them into the shop. My 10 year old was obsessed by them and spent most of the week with the chickens!
We didn't venture out much as the weather was lousy, but would recommend Wells next the Sea and Wroxham Beach. Only stayed an hour as the weather started to turn but both fantastic for dog owners. It was like dog city!
No problems at all. EHU was fine, staff were fine, campers were fine. Everything was fine.
Will definitely be returning.

I stayed here for the third time with my brother and his family and me with my disabled mum. It is without doubt the friendliest site I have stayed on and keeps everyone happy!
Toilet blocks were new 3 years ago but they are excellent and always warm and clean
Washing up area, large deep sinks, and people do tend to keep them clean after they use them which is good to see; do need a light there which the owner Pablo, has said he will see to that as he did not realise there wasn't one there!
Site is lovely to walk around seeing all the animals and the bonus when you have young children is they can find eggs and take them into the shop and after so many they get a lolly! kept the kids very busy and happy.
Well stocked fishing lake which my son and grandaughter spent many cold and windy days sitting around but they loved it.
Cafe, lovely home cooked food, warm, clean, friendly staff, would recommend a visit for breakfast to set you up for the day.
Shop well stocked and local produce and not too bad with the prices but if you want more and want to drive Tesco, Morrisons and local shops just minutes away.
All in all a great site for all the family! Yes we will be coming back!

Just returned from a 2 nights stay at the site. We were warmly welcomed by all staff and were made to feel welcome and at home. We were given clear directions to our pitch and we had plenty of space.
The shower block was modern, well maintained, clean and effective.
The shop on site was well stocked and not over priced, manned by cheerful, helpful staff. It was nice to have a licensed cafe on site but we didn't use it this first visit.
The site was very quiet and pleasant. It is situated within easy reach of Historic Norwich and Great Yarmouth on the coast.
It's a new family run site and they are working hard to build a good reputation. Some people expect them to run before they can walk. They are picking up a good steady pace.
I'm sure we will return to the site in the near future and we would recommend the site to friends.
