We had a great pitch in the corner underneath trees and opposite the play area. This was ideal as we could allow the kids to go to the play area and keep an eye on them.
They loved the play area and made lots of friends. There's lots of caravans on this site only a couple of tents but the people were so friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.
The toilets and showers were ok nothing to complain about but not as good as some sites we have been on. They were always clean!
Ideal to visit York which is stunning but far enough away to be in the countryside.
Only saw the owners when we arrived, we were left alone to enjoy our weekend.

We have used this site for weekends for about 6 years. The owners are friendly, shop is basic.
The pitches are of excellent size we have an 11 metre tent and we fit on with ease. Beautiful location, dog walk is lovley down the old railway line.
The toilet/shower block could do with updating, as they are looking a bit tired and some of the showers are a bit rusty. There is a small park for the children. They are kept clean.
All pitches are electric. Close to York in one direction and Pocklington in the other.

Nice caravan site in lovely area - very peaceful location. Toilets could do with an update, they were a bit tired looking.
The free hot showers were good. Considering it was just after the bank holiday and the amount of people that was still there, we never had any problems getting a shower, but they are in need of updating. The building itself is fine it just inside.
We were located in adults only area which was very peaceful and a nice view, made friends with a pheasant who seemed to like to say hello and he liked his food lol.
Shop is very limited and could stock more, there is a children's play area on site. But never heard any noise off of the children. No rush to get off your pitch which is always a bonus. No frills, but nice for a short break and would stay again.

The free hot showers were good, but in need of updating. Lovely dog walk down own disused railway line. We were located in adults only area which was very peaceful.
Shop and children's play area on site. No rush to get off your pitch which is always a bonus. No frills, but nice for a short break.

My wife and I have just spent the Easter week at this site and I have to say this is a really good site to spend any holiday at. The owners make you feel very welcome and are very helpful. The toilets are very clean and loads of hot water for the showers and its free. The site is quite a big one with 90 spaces and it was very busy but found no problems
The area is full of wildlife and very easy to find your way around with many small villages within easy reach and York just 5 miles up the road and not far from the East Coast. Pocklington is not far down the road about 4 miles with supermarkets and shops for all your needs. While on holiday and while you are there you must try the fish & chips in Pocklington.
We were very lucky with the weather it was red hot the whole time we were there, so all in all a very good site and we will be going back. Also the sit is very dog friendly with plenty of dog walks

Stayed for 3 nights, very easy to find site. Great for getting to York. Try the park and ride if wanting to go into York for the day.
The site has a shop on site. The web site says the site has WiFi, we asked about this and was told we had read it wrong, what they mean is that you can use the pc in the shop area when open, not sure about the price. Not WiFi as I have come across at other sites.
Good sized play area.
Lots of seasoned caravans on site and caravans in storage on the site. Toilets clean but are cold. You are given a code to use to get into the toilets but the door is never locked.
Very nice local pub just 1 mile away, well worth a visit, warm and welcoming inside.

This was a pleasant site, on arrival the EHU leads we had were not long enough and the owners kindly lent us theirs at no extra charge.
Despite the Easter weather the fact that we were pitched up in very already muddy area didn't help, however the owners were very helpful and provided some planks of wood to walk on.
Good size Play area for the kids.
The shower block / toilet was always clean with male / female and unisex along with larger family shower rooms. The washing up area is in a wooden hut with laundry facilities.
Nice site, bad time of year to go.

We stayed on this site over the Easter weekend. The facilities are of a reasonable standard and they appeared sufficient for the number of people on the site. The weather wasn't the best so it made getting on and off the pitch a bit of a problem but thanks to the owners who helped me out. My four year old couldn't keep out of the play park. Plenty to do in and around the area with York and it's many attractions not too far away. Shops and pubs in the surrounding area and a great Indian restaurant/take away in Pocklington. Returning to the site in May.

This was a pleasant site, well into the countryside. As stated, the site is the old railway station at Fangfoss, with the station house used as a family home / reception. The platforms are still evident and the old rail line provides a lovely dog walk.
The site is predominantly seasonal caravans and the rest of the site is given over to touring caravans with gravel / grass pitches. As a group of four large family tents wanting EHU we were situated in the bottom corner, unfortunately camping at Easter equals rain, therefore on an already soft ground this caused a significant amount of mud.
The owners were very helpful and provided some planks of wood to walk on, but we ended up raiding the recycling bins for newspaper and cardboard for the porch / awnings of the tents, however after to talking to a seasonal owner, it became apparent that this part of the site had previously flooded in the past year. It also proved on leaving the site that careful manoeuvring was required on driving off.
The shower block was adequate and the owners were forever washing the mats and cleaning the block, the washing up area is handily housed in a wooden hut with the laundry facilities. There is a separate adult only area as well as a decent sized play area.
The dog walk / old rail line was situated through a small gate out of the caravan site. The site is well situated for York, and would recommend using the park and ride facility at Monks Cross, parking in York is expensive.
Overall a pleasant site, but preferable in good weather and probably more popular with caravans.

Stayed here for 2 nights with friends on the next pitch who'd been a couple of times before.
Lovely site in a lovely area. Really pretty surroundings & a nice feel to the place. It has a great playground & fabulous dog walk through a gate off the back.
The only negative was the toilet/shower blocks weren't great (in need of updating) but were clean & this wouldn't stop us from going back.
As it's less than 2 hours from us this is one place we'll definitely be going back to for weekends in the future.
