We stayed 2 nights here while visiting York.
The site was very well maintained with good facilities. There is a great play park for the kids (probably best for under 10s) and the site has a nice open aspect to it. Very quiet even although it was busy at the weekend there are a lot of seasonal pitches.
The pitches are a good size but you are left with parking your car in front of the pitch.
The site fees are great value. We are a family of 4 ( kids aged 7 and 10 months ) and we have a large (8 man) tent but were only £20 per night which included electric hookup.
The shop is very basic so I would take everything you need with you. There is a decent sized Somerfield in nearby Pocklington.
The local pub (Carpenters Arms) is excellent with good food and a large beer garden with a good park for the kids.
All in all a great site that I would look forward to staying in again sometime.

The site had a fantastic Children's Playground which was really useful for our 2 year old nephew, who spent most of the time on site there. The toilets and showers were clean and functional. The site had a small shop which sells basic essentials and Ice Creams.
There is plenty to do in the local area, if you have never been to the area a quick internet search would turn up most attractions.
The only down side was that we booked a family pitch as we have a large tent, the space we were allocated was the size of a normal pitch.

Found the owners very nice and welcoming, had booked for 3 nights with family on the next pitch. Cant fault the area, it was close to york and the surrounding area was beautiful. Most on the site were friendly but decided to leave after the second night as the people in the static caravan opposite making it very difficult to park by putting out the breeze blockers so far we couldn't get near the tent with the car. With children we found it difficult. Been to lots of sites over the years and for the price we were charged found the toilet blocks terrible, this really let the site down. Although on a good point the water was hot but the block itself cold even though it had radiators.
It had hookups for those that need it and the children's play area was excellent . The shop was very basic only selling a few things so shop first before you go .

A very fine site. Lovely location with lots of mature trees. Lots of room for children to safely run, play and ride bikes. The playground passed the test too.
Small shop on site with a few essentials. The site is a bit out of the way with nothing really within walking distance, but that was no problem for us. If the kids are happy (aged 8 and 6), then so are we. The kids were certainly happy here.
I would agree with some previous reviewers that the toilet block could do with a bit of investment to bring it into this century. It was more than adequate as far as we were concerned though and always clean. Also, there was a mop and bucket available if needed.
Owners were OK without being over-friendly. Just as a constructive comment they could have made a bit more effort to make guests feel welcome on arrival. No major issues and no real impact on our weekend, but first impressions and all that.
In summary, a re-vamped toilet block and a smile or two from the owners and it would have been perfect. Overall an excellent site as it is and we will return at some point.

Website looks great, the site on arrival looks fantastic, part of the old railway station, with platform still intact great. Lovely site and area. Toilets had scum on the shower floors and urinals. The main toilet block floors by the doors are cleaned regularly.

Have just spent a four day break at this site, we were allocated a great hard standing pitch and nice and handy for the water supply (always a bonus). Site is in a fantastic setting, really well kept grounds, trees all around, good for kids with bikes, play area was really good , my son (11) thought it was great. Nice and handy for York and the East coast. Ate at the Carpenters Arms in the village, everything was delicious, with a capitol 'D' and reasonably priced. Somerfield supermarket in nearby Pocklington with cash machine and the most wonderful Chinese takeaway 'FUI SING', but Costcutter in Fangfoss does do cashback. All in all we had a great time and we will probably use it again, but, and for us it was a BIG but, the toilet blocks are basic and were not very clean, the drain smells, very dirty shower head in one of the ladies cubicles and of two of the cubicles I used there was dirt splashed up the cubicle sides and an abundance of creature life (dead and alive) lying around ! Come on Fangfoss you have a great site there, but the toilets need some investment.

This is a nice small site in a nice location 15mins from York park and ride, with a supermarket in nearby Pocklington, and a great pub in Fangfoss village, a 10/15 min walk;
However, the toilet/shower block is old and was not kept clean on a regular basis.
There was a dog walk along the old railway track which we never used but were told it was good.

This site is wonderful. Really peaceful and safe. We were 2 women with our kids camping. We got plenty of offers of help from the regulars to help put up tent etc. And they made us feel really welcome - but most important we felt safe there without our husbands. The shower block was cleaned throughout the day so no problems there at all. The dishwashing area was great as was indoors and also have washer and dryer and ironing board. The kids loved the playpark as it is well thought out and they even had a section for toddlers with lots of little tikes equipment - my 18 month old thought it was great. Handy for York aswell. This really is a great site and we will definitely be going again. I'm even trying to persuade my husband to site out tourer there.

Just spent the weekend at this site. Very clean and tidy, toilets OK, showers were hot. Didnt use washing up facilities but they looked OK. Owners very friendly. We used the dog walk but our dog is scared of loud noises and there are crow scarers going off in the day, but by the end of the weekend he was used to it. Location is ideal for York and not too far from the coast.
We went to the local pub Carpenters Arms which is very pleasant (1 mile away from site) Didnt eat there but the staff are friendly enough.
Would definitely go back at some point.

What a fantastic site! Kids loved the play area, we loved the peace and quiet! Great regulars on the site, we happened to book on the weekend when the owners provided a 'HOG ROAST' for them, and we were made very welcome to join in. Shower block kept spotlessly clean, cannot praise this site enough. York very close, we used the 'park and ride', cheap and efficient. Could only stay for 4 nights, but will be returning soon.
