I was very disappointed when we stayed at this campsite as the toilet / shower block was dirty and walking from our motorhome to the shower block we had to pass a terrible smell - come on this site needs some tender loving care! Last year we stayed for a weekend and it was nothing like hence the reason for our return visit. £12 per night is not cheap when you have to use your own facilities!

We had a lovely stay there a few weeks ago.And my husbandwho loves steam trains loved the setting and pitch which backed on to the station platform. My daughter and grandson had the pitch at the side of us in there campervan ,so the play area was ideal, also the toilet facilities where very clean and well kept.We will hopefully be going back again soon,we used the park and ride into york which is only a couple of miles or so down the road so that was great. We enjoyed the walk off the campsite which followed the old train tracks in to the station, can recommend this site.10/10

Had our first weekend out here, our favourite site! Heating now installed in the shower block, lovely! Site as good as ever, and a few other ukcampsite members there as well. What more can you ask? The best site we have been to by far. Full for Easter, we were too late, have booked for the May bank hol.

I found the site very nice, and the children's playground was ideal for my daughter and her best friend, who are both 13. The toilets are kept clean though could be a little crowded at times. But apart from that it is good. We went at Easter and we found the locals having a duck race on Easter Sunday which filled in a couple of hours. It is a great event and I would recommend it was it is a laugh.

Nice clean site although mainly for tourers than tents. Lots of them have seasonal pitches and unoccupied so very quiet. Toilets and showers are adequate but could do with an upgrade (drains a bit smelly, lots of insects) and you would NEVER use the ironing facilities! Shop- do it before you go! Well located for York, fab chip shop in Pocklington. Playground was ok but one of the climbing frames seemed a bit dangerous.

Our first outing this year. Also our first visit to this site. We came with friends, who are new to camping. We had the last 2 pitches, which were next to each other, backing on to the kids playground. Between us we have 4 children ranging in age from 6 to 11,so this location was ideal. However we were a long distance away from the EHU point, I went to the office and Jo was behind the counter with an extension lead, which was loaned to me for free. She also re-froze our ice blocks along with various items of food and drink, again at no charge.
The shower/toilet facilities are spotless the site is very level. It appears that a lot of visitors leave their caravans and tents there for the full season. Had a quick drink in the local pub 'Carpenters Arms' has a good beer garden with assault course type playground for kids. Would recommend chippy in nearby Stamford Bridge. Also a few pubs here.
A good well run site,we all enjoyed our stay there

Just returned from a 2 night visit, in a nice location and only a few mile from the park and ride. There is a shop on site but isn't as well stocked as other sites visited, and only open certain times. We found the shower / toilet facilities were OK but could do with an upgrade. There is a small play area but no games room

We love this site! Have now been 6 times this year. Welcome on arrival is always pleasant, even when arriving late on a Friday. (latest we arrived was 945 p.m.!) Toilets and showers always clean, bit chilly in March though - heating for next year, the warden told us. So much to do in the area, and the new landlords at the local pub seem nice, food better than before. We are thinking about a seasonal pitch here next year, almost forgot, kids love the playground and the other kids to play with.

This site was very quiet and peaceful. Excellent location for expolring York via the park and ride which is superb. We arrived and pitched up, we never saw any owner from the site until the day before we were leaving. Not sure if this is good or bad?
Toilet and shower block were adequate for our needs. Shop was very rarely open for supplies, also the gate was locked at 10 pm. This made it diffcult to go for an evening meal or catch a ghost walk in York.

June 2005 Built around an old railway station - this is such a pretty and peaceful site, we managed to sleep till 9.20am!!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. On site shop selling essentials. A lovely dog walk on site to keep our 4 legged friends amused. Toilets and showers were clean with free hot showers. Surrounding area lovely with plenty of places close by to visit - including York and the east coast. Pub approximately 1 mile from the site. Would definitely visit again.
