We have just had a weekend on this site. Pitches were great nice and level and site well maintained. The pub on site did some lovely food.
The toilet and shower blocks look new the only downside was that children were able to go in and flood the loo's as there was not a code system on the door for adults to assist.
In the showers we could if done a mop or brush to leave clean for next peron.
Apart from this we had a nice relaxed weekend and would return to this site.

Just arrived home from site. Camped 27-30th.
Have camped at lots of other sites all over the south west so feel fair comparison can be given.
The pros: Checking in was straight forward and was issued with card for security gate. Flat pitches. Ours had electric and own water tap. Small site with some marked pitches and a large field - good for groups. Lovely pub on site with beer garden and play area. We didn't eat but food looked very nice.
You could also buy ice-creams in the bar. Supermarkets just over a mile away (Tesco Extra and a Sainsburys. Finkley Park Farm is just a mile down the road and well worth a visit. Outdoor play area, indoor softplay and the children can feed and hold the animals.
Cons: Cannot check in between 4 and 6. Don't get caught out. The pub doesn't open until 5/6 so if it is raining you are stuck in your car! A poor operational decision by the owners especially in school hols.
You were not shown to your pitch, yes you had a map but a bit impersonal I feel.
The new toilet/shower facilities were of a good standard (no where near the best I have experienced) but were NOT cleaned once over the 3 days. NOT acceptable during a busy weekend. The mens showers also got blocked and were still blocked when we left. Also my husband found himself with no toiler paper and had to shuffle round the four cubicles to find some. Amusing now but not at the time! When he went to use the toilet brush (as you politely do!) there was more faeces on the brush than down the loo!
The washing up room needs a revamp. Insufficient draining sides and I ended up with wet feet. Watch out for the taps the water comes out with force! The pool was adequately sized but cold and needed a clean.
On the whole an average site but if felt a little unloved. It was almost like the campers got shoved round the back of the pub and left to get on with it, literally.
Would I return, probably not.

We stayed at Wyke Down for just a couple of nights during one of the rare weekends this year that saw glorious sunshine!
It's a lovely site. Reception was well organised and provided a map and keycard for secure entry in and out of the site.
The tent field at the bottom of the site is very slightly sloped, but not enough to be a problem. The grass is in excellent condition. There is a fence all round the field so it's safe for children to play too.
Campers seem to stick to the outside edge allowing children plenty of room to play, but there are no restrictions and many were camped together in little groups. Dustbins were brought down for us so that we didn't have to go far for that.
The new toilet block is about the best I've seen on a campsite and the showers have decent sized cubicles with plenty of free hot water. All kept very clean and wasn't at all busy when we stayed.
The site has a restaurant and pub, neither of which we used, but they looked very nice. The pub has a play area which the children did use though.
There is also a driving range with about a dozen tee's costing £1 for 22 balls, so excellent value.
And finally there's an unheated, but VERY nice swimming pool which is a decent size and well worth making use of.
Andover town centre with Sainsburys and Tescos is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute cycle ride.
Well recommended and we'll definitely be coming back.

We recently stayed for one night, arranged at short notice with the very helpful owner. There was plenty of room for our two bikes and one tent in late October. The site is clean, tidy and obviously well managed. The real bonus for us was the on site pub / restaurant. For two hungry cyclists at the end of a long day it was great to be able to pitch the tent, have a decent shower and get into the bar without further travel.
The staff in the pub were very friendly, the food was excellent and good value. Just one point to note here, on a Sunday evening food orders aren't taken after 8 pm so you would be caught out if you timed it wrong.

What a great site. New shower block is excellent, best I have been in. There is a toilet block and washing up facilities too.
The camping field is great, pitch anywhere you want, but there are electric hook ups available to those who need that sort of thing. There is a pool, unheated but clean. And a golf driving range which at a quid for 22 balls was a bargain.
The pub was brilliant and the food superb, the restaurant was not tried because there is a no child rule but the pub delivered for us. Sky tv also available and a good selection of ales.
Only moan is you cannot check in between 4 and 6 which could mean up to 2 hours of waiting to get access if you time it wrong.
The site is very well signposted and fully recommended by us.

What a great find this site was. We had a fabulous short break here over Half Term this year. The new toilet and shower block is first class, and really well serviced. There was always plenty of hot water, even at peak times; as well as for washing up.
The pitches were a good size and not too close together, with space for parking. The Pub and restaurant are superb. We were very fortunate to have good weather to be able to enjoy the beer garden and play area.
The Pool was open too, which was a welcome relief from the heat - but even so was a bit on the cold side and wasn't open enough. To be fair, it was still low season and was excellent value for money.
Some lovely countryside around and plenty to do provided that you have a car and are willing to drive.
Only criticism would be the lack of a campsite shop, that would have made this site perfect. We will definitely be back!

We were told the new shower and toilet block would be open when we arrived but it was not. The old facilities were poor and not particularly well kept. We felt this should at least be reflected in the price but on the contrary found it to be above average.
There did not seem to be any plan as to where people pitched hence our friends found a tent under their window and the family inside playing computer games until after 1am.
This was our first venture away from club sites and was all in all not a good experience.
On the plus side there was a playground outside the pub which the children in our party enjoyed and although we did not eat there ourselves friends informed us that they had had a reasonable meal on the evening they arrived.

We have just returned from this site and had a really nice weekend. The toilets and showers were as previously described basic but there are new showers being built. The only thing was that we arrived at 3.20pm on Friday and there was no one in the office for us to book in - said it closed at 4pm so thought it would be open. It did open at 6pm. Booked in ok. Asked again about - had asked when booking on line and was told no then - if we needed to book a table in the pub for Saturday night. I was told no only for Sunday which was Mother's Day. Went to eat in pub on Saturday night and was told they were fully booked but no sorry, no manners. All that needed to happen was we could have been told to book in advance and maybe a sorry! Just so you know there is a lovely, friendly pub in St Mary Bourne about a 5 minute drive - where we went to eat and we had a really nice meal.

Good flat pitches with close-mown grass, but if you're in the overflow field the grass is somewhat longer. The site can be a little noisy during the day because of the adjacent road, but it is quiet enough at night to hear owls hooting. Most campers in the main park seem to be long-stayers with huge caravans and RVs.
The gents' toilet block has had a leaking urinal for the last year now and there are only two (fairly weedy) showers. The toilet block wasn't the cleanest, although I've seen worse.
It's useful to have a pub on site but it is not cheap - a bar meal is £8-10 minimum and puddings are another £5. If you want supplies then you'll need to go down to Tesco (about 2.5 miles) or the shop in St Mary Bourne (3 miles). The latter closes at 6pm on weekdays but 4pm on weekends - be warned!
There are lots of water points in the main park, although again the overflow field only has one at the entrance gate. You'll need to pay a £10 deposit for the keycard which gives access to the site, unless you're backpacking when you can use a kissing gate.
The big plus of this site is that it is stupendously cheap if you're backpacking or cycling - £5 a night out of season. Some sites charge the same as for a caravan!

We have just returned from our 2nd stay at Wyke Down campsite and had a great time again. We love the campsite and our children had a great time.
The owners are really friendly and helpful and do everything they can to help you.
We ate at the pub on Sunday (booking necessary) and found it to be really good value and very yummy. Nice to have a pub on site when you can't be bothered to cook.
Lots of people we spoke to had returned for another visit which speaks volumes. We only live 40 minutes away but we could be anywhere as it is very relaxed.
Only teeny niggle was that the pressure of the water in the showers was bad and there were only 2 cubicles so had a little wait. I believe there are plans for a new shower block though so this should get sorted.
Enjoyed our weekend away with our friends and we will be back!
