August 2005 We have just returned from a week spent at Wyke Down. The site was lovely, beautiful setting and very friendly owners. We had lovely weather while we were there, and so made full use of the pool, which was a big bonus. The restaurant was very nice, although quite expensive, and not much variety on the childrens menu. The shower blocks only had two showers and were a little dated but adequate for a short stay. All in all the site was very clean, lovely people, beautiful setting,( although the main road was quite noisey), great weather, and a really nice week had by us all, well worth a return visit.

July 2005 We really liked this site. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The pub was also extremely child friendly very useful as it rained most days we were there. Our 5 year old loved the play equipment. The showers and toilets were fine, although a washing machine would have been useful.
Finkley Down Farm Park which is just down the road is well worth a visit if you have young kids as is Jungle Jungle the local play centre on the industrial estate near the site. The tourist info centre in Andover was great especially when we were looking for rainy day activities.

May 2005 We stayed at this site to break a journey home, it was our 3rd visit (the others being 2003 & 2004).
The main benefit of this site is the pub/resturant, great to have a break from the BBQ and bottled beer! There is a swimming pool, this is too deep for small childeren but otherwise is fine. The play area has only climbing equipment which once again is not really suitable for small childeren, when we first visited in 2003 they had swings but unfortunatly these have gone.
The toilet block is basic but clean there is a warning on the showers about variable water pressure causing temperature changes but had no problems ourselves.
Overall we find this a convenient site for short stays.

August 2004 This was our second visit to the site (2003 was the first), this time the swimming pool was open and the childerens play area had been re-vamped.
The site is fairly quiet at weekends but the nearby road can get noiser on working days as it leads to a nearby industrial estate.
The pool is great for adults or older childeren but the shallow end came up to my 5 year old's chin so I had to enjoy a solo swim. The childerens play area has been well re-laid out but there are no swings anymore (which upset my daughters).
We like the geographical location, the proximity of the pub to the caravan! and the fact that you can generally get a pitch at short notice.

June 2002 A bit of an average site – toilets and showers OK, shop OK etc. Nothing special or worthy of a return visit.
It is in a nice countryside location. Its got a large pub with a restaurant, I enjoyed the food feeling it was way above average, but wait until you get the bill - ooouch!
The pub section was very pleasant, but the drinks are expensive also my group was overcharged for drinks twice, first time we mentioned it and they apologized saying they had mistakenly charged for an extra drink, the second time we didnt want the fuss so we left for one of the many nice pubs in the area.(and there are plenty). Put in perspective the bar was busy so mistakes will happen.
You will need to visit the Tourist Information in Andover to make the most of your visit, there is not masses to do locally but check out Finkley Down Farm between the campsite and industrial estate, the kids will love it!

August 2002 This was our first camping trip. Looking back it wasn't bad but we have since been to better sights in other parts of the Country.
We had a meal in the restaurant/bar area on site, it was okay but nothing special.
Golf range for you golfers. There was a very small food shop, we had to go Tescos in Andover for supplies. There was a kiddies play area, and swimming pool.
Average toilet block, a bit outdated but cleaned daily.
Ok if you are passing through.

July 2003 The site was clean, spacious and well kept. It was well located for Andover and the surrounding area. There was an excellent playground for children and it was quiet at night. However the showers really let the site down. The temperature in the showers ranged from red hot to freezing cold with pressure at a bare minimum. We don't have any children to think about thankfully, for I feel that showering in these could have caused a real headache and some frazzled skin!

May 2003 Small site in nice country location. Space for kids to play and dogs to run. Resturant and bar on site but food not that great and quite expensive for a pub. Local town of Andover a bit run down but Southampton was quite interesting.

June 2003 The park had one field in use at the time although a much larger one was in reserve, I could not spot any hook-ups in the reserve field though. The shower block was quite small but clean, three wcs and two showers plus three wash basins in the mens and ladies. The water was hot at all times,I was disappointed not to find any soap or dispensers to wash your hands with after using the toilets, not a very good example to the children on site. The washing up room was clean at all times. The field had a gentle slope to it, pegging down was quite difficult as there was only about 3 inches of top soil after that rock hard. The swimming pool was under reconstruction at the time. The pub was very pleasant, pricey though. All in all a nice site but two days long enough for me.

Aug 2002 This is a medium sized site, with at the time two fields in use. Despite being bank Holiday weekend, the site was not over crowded. There is a restaurant and driving range on site, along with an open air swimming pool, and a play area for the kiddies, but only a little shop which from what I could see did not sell any food, except for sweets. I felt the toilet/shower facilities could have been cleaner. whilst I was there I only saw the toilets being cleaned once late at night, and an early morning trip to the toilets proved interesting as the lights had been switched off, with no light swith evident! Despite the site not being full, the showers were quite busy, although hot (only two for females and two for males on site). I also found food prices in the bar/restaurant to be a little expensive.
