Went to this site last weekend, first time camping with our new tent, wanted somewhere very local but with a pool (for the kids).
Lovely site, very friendly staff. Drinking water, showers, toilets and dish washing facilities available and clean as can be for weather.
Had two families go, camped next to each other and had good sing song in the evenings. Kids played in big open area. Pool is ideal for a dip (weather wasn't great but kids still braved it).
Never used the pub, but looked welcoming, little park in garden for younger kids.
Local supermarket about 5 min drive away.
We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and would definitely go again.

This was the perfect site for us. Set on a hill overlooking some great countryside made waking up in the morning all that more pleasant. We arrived on a sunday afternoon and left the following Weds morning. After reading so many unhelpful reviews these are the facts from our point of view (2 adults, 1 seven and two year old)
Good
Quietness of site (only third full)
Lovely pub within site of tent catering for all
Swimming pool, but a bit chilly
Fantastic drainage following heavy rain overnight
Lovely talkative people
Bad
Shower block needs an overhaul, but is kept clean and tidy. Had worse but this would have made it complete
Was a bit windy being up on a hill but worth it
No shop
Andover is only a 5 min drive with all you need. Must visit Romsey Rapid (30 mins). For a family who like to make our own fun with others without having activities rammed down our throats this was perfect and will certainly be returning.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Wyke Down. Lovely owners - we were shown to our pitch by Peter who was fun and friendly and offered advice on best way to set up. Our electric lead was not long enough so he immediately moved us, or offered to loan us an extension lead. The site is beautiful - lovely scenery.
We did not notice noise from the road adjacent as other people have mentioned. The play area for kids is great - ours spent most of their time there.
The 'heated' pool is absolutely freezing, but we still managed a dip! Toilet and shower facilities were very basic but perfectly usable - only 2 showers meant a short wait at times.
The only issue we did have was caused by the presence of an extraordinary amount of wasps! However, we popped to Tesco and bought some spray which solved the problem!

There is a road next to the campsite that is busier than expected. 5.30am the traffic started and quieted down around 11.30pm. However the rail line did not cause much noise at all.
The restaurant and pub looked lovely, but if you want to eat there at the week-end you have to book a table the day before, or wait a very long time.
The facilities were clean, but the open hours of reception made access to book in or book a table at the pub restrictive.
On Sunday morning the traffic started a bit later, and when we got up we discovered a massive boot sale in the field across the road. It would have been nice if we had been told about it when we arrived.
We were pleased we only booked for 2 nights, but hope it would be a bit quieter during the week.

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We stayed for two nights with our 8 berth tent bringing with us two kids and a dog.
Plenty to do - lovely play area for the kids, a pool, a few animals to see (chickens, ducks, cats and cow with calf). The countryside view from our tent was just beautiful - we just sat and watched the swifts and swallows, Red Kite and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely weather.
The owners are extremely friendly and helpful - the food in the pub was simply delicious (and despite the pub being busy due to the World Cup our meals didn't take very long at all and the service was great) and you can even order food and take it away to your tent so helps with cooking campsite meals!
The toilet block was clean - the showers were piping hot and the site, in general, absolutely perfect. Security of the site was also spot on - with a huge gate which is locked and access is gained with using a credit card style card which we scan at the gate for it to open - given to you when you book in. We will definitely be going back for a full week in the Summer.

Stayed in a tent for 1 night and was very pleased. I had to look for someone to book in, but the people were very helpful and pleasant. Very cheap for a tent with a bike for one person, only £5.00.
The food was delicious. Very fast and efficient service and the bar staff were very chatty and nice company.
The field was a good size, clean and short grass, very quiet and a lovely view of the countryside.
The only criticism I have is that the men's toilets' lights didn't work so I had to use the ladies, and some of the locks on the toilet doors were broken. Other than that, I had a very nice stay, and would be happy to go back.

Had a nice weekend on the site despite bad Bank Holiday Weather. Very friendly hosts but a not so friendly electric gate which played up all weekend. Little overpriced as others have said but facilities clean and adequate. Pitches ok and great view over countryside. Good Boot Sale on the Holiday Monday.
Didn't eat in the pub but it looked good but fairly dear.
Lots to see around the area, Test Valley, Roman Forts, Market at Andover, Silk Mill, Windmill and many National Trust places not too far away.
Asdas Tescos and Sainsbury's all close to hand for provisions and a call it up bus to pick you up from the site to go to the Town at Andover if you didn't have a car!

Nice site, we stayed here over the bank holiday weekend and we had a lovely relaxing weekend here.
The site is situated about 10 mins from Andover so not far to pop in for a Tesco or Sainsbury visit.
The site it self is very basic, only 1 toilet block for the whole site which had 2 showers per sex which I found not to be a problem as I managed to get a shower straight away in the morning.
Reception is a little bit of an issue, we arrived just after 8pm which is when reception closes, we rang the bell several times but no answer and in the end had to enquire in the pub, they then told us to keep ringing until his wife comes down, they were busy and short staffed in the pub and we were late arriving but it was a little annoying with an upset baby in our car. Plus 8pm close isn't ideal on a Friday night when people are travelling after work to get to site, could do with a late check in time on a Friday
Pub on site is very nice, has a country feel to it, nice food and great portions and its a free house so plenty to choose from.
Playground is ok but could do with more for the younger ones as nothing for our 15 month old to play on.
On the whole its a great site, nice friendly people and it has great views over the countryside.
Car boot sale on a Sunday was good and in the next field to the campsite (25p entry)
We would go back again

Just spent a very pleasant few nights at Wyke down and it was a great place to stay. A working farm just a short drive to Andover and its many facilities.
Wyke down is set in lovely countryside with far reaching views. There is a great pub / restaurant on site as well as golf driving range.
Facilities were spotless and plenty of hot water in the showers though I was there midweek in April so two showers and four toilets (in the males section) might get busy when the site is full.
The owners are very nice and friendly, all in all a good campsite that I will visit again.

This site can best be described as a small, flat, mown field with nice views, at the rear of a nice pub and with a very basic toilet / shower block which is not particularly well maintained although reasonably clean. The urinals smelled badly, one toilet seat had fallen off and was propped up against the cubicle wall and being winter and wet the floor was quite dirty. However, there was hand soap and toilet paper in the dispensers, plenty of hot water, and a heating system which was barely coping.
In early November I paid £15 a night for single occupancy of a tent on a grass EHU pitch (normal price for two is £16). This to me is very expensive given the time of year and the limited facilities.
Half of the campsite is given over to long stay caravans and motorhomes used by travelling workmen. During the working week they leave the site to go to work at various times from about 6am so expect to hear vehicle movements in the early morning. Over the boundary hedge is quite a busy road and at times very noisy and a field away on the other side is a railway cutting. If you want peace and quiet this is not the site for you.
Despite the above the owners and staff are very friendly and polite. The pub is very welcoming and has a selection of real ales and good pub food. There is a small outdoor swimming pool for use during the warmer months and a golf driving range if you are into that.
