Great location for seeing sights. Friendly and very clean.
Other than that the site is in much need of reinvestment. No problem with the wardens though, they are I believe doing the best they can with the dated site they have.
No playground. Hardstandings which aren't! Actually reinforced grass/ mud pitches.
The wardens have the more traditional free draining set up though.
Push button showers. 3 showers in the gents but one is always out of use for the campers to use.
Water fill and disposal points in my opinion are a place where someone will get hurt thanks to their elevated position and slippery slanting paving slabs.
I wrote to the camping and caravanning club with my thoughts. I explained the above and the high cost compared with other ( unavailable at the time of booking and now I know why this one was) sites in the area.
The site is on the list for improvement.
A negative review. Maybe the cc&c will read it. I hope so.
We won't be back!

Lovely campsite, very friendly and helpful wardens. Toilet facilities good and always very clean but the shower temperature was not adjustable and was quite hot. The time limit was only about 10 seconds and it was impossible to wash your hair unless you leant on the button! Some of the placements are very small and we felt very hemmed in. Advise booking a hard standing pitch which are much bigger than the grass pitches.
Very good pub nearby, friendly staff and a good menu.

Small site fully booked when we visited. Spotless toilet block as we would expect from C & C Club. Avoid road noise by asking for pitch at back of site. Wardens friendly but a bit 'pushy' from time to time. No motorhome facilities so filling with water means you block the main entrance and you need a grey water container for disposal. Not many other facilities either so we thought it was a bit pricey (we paid £88 for 3 nights with member discounts!)

Site in on the main road so the pitches nearest the road do have some traffic noise. Pitches are fairly small - many also in terms of length.
Only a lukewarm welcome, disappointing as after that wardens very friendly.
Toilet / showers immaculate - cannot fault other than why are the push buttons set to 10 seconds? Fairly impossible to wash hair with one hand permanently on the push button.
No motorohome service point so you need your own bucket / water disposal carrier to drop grey waste.
The area is brilliant - loads of great walks, plenty of cafes and its not far at all to Chichester, Bognor or Portsmouth. Have to agree with other. That the Southbourne Farm shop is amazingly good - breads, fruits, homemade froezen shepherds pies etc etc.
This is a lovely site but its a bit cramped. We would use again for a couple of nights at a time.

Stayed here over three nights, primarily to go to the Goodwood Revival. Excellent location for this as it's only a short drive up to Goodwood.
Found the site very well appointed and the wardens very friendly and helpful. A technical problem with the electrics one night meant the power went off across the site several times but the wardens kept everyone informed and got an electrician in to fix it.
Toilets/showers were always clean and the water always hot.
The farm shop just down the road is well worth a visit, it's not just vegetables but pies, ready meals, bread and lots more.
If you have caravan problems or need spares, Chichester Caravans are just down the road and have a well stocked shop.
Can recommend this site.

We chose this site for our very first caravanning adventure because it has easy access and is in the C and C club which we joined as we liked the idea of having some back up if needed. There are 4 staff, all of whom were helpful and friendly.
The site is well-cared for and has a mix of grass and hard-standing pitches. It was full or nearly so for the 3 days we were there but was still quiet. There is nowhere for children to play so as mentioned in a previous review this place is perhaps better for adults but it is close to many activities and places to visit so for families on holiday, it could be regarded as well-located.
The toilet block and shower block were spotless at all times and the washing up facilities were very good. There was also a big sink to wash clothes in and a large washer and dryer.
There is a nearby footpath which goes to the waterfront where you can choose to walk East or West. Emsworth is a lovely town which is close enough to walk to but there is a regular bus service (£2 single!). It has nice pubs, a great walk around the 'pond', butchers, bakers and some quirky shops.
The farm shop near the site is excellent and opens early M-F. You could arrive at this site with nothing and buy everything you could need for the most lavish dining here- the co-op is just a little further and has a chiller cabinet for wines, beers, soft drinks and a good selection of the usual necessities. We would certainly return here. The staff do a great job.

First stay on this small C&CC site for us. Easy to find as just off the main A road.
Lovely warm welcome on arrival, booked in quickly and shown to our pitch. Lovely wardens.
Nice clean facilities (although the showers were very hot on the days that reached near on 30 degress!). Toilets and sinks in separate rooms to showers and sinks. Indoor washing up area housed within the laundry at rear of building. Bins to rear - although no recycling.
Lovely farm shop 5/10 minute stroll up the road and Co-Op and a Boots too. Very handy. Pub outside the site but didn't try it this time. We ate on site with some friends, BBQ one night and also had an Indian takeaway delivered to the site (very nice it was too!).
Great bike rides from the site (designated lane on a fairly busy road but there are pavements to use if you're careful). We biked down to the pretty harbour at Bosham and around the estuary one day and it was excellent.
There is some traffic noise on site but it never bothered us too much. Could also hear the odd train every now and again.
This is a small site and we felt a bit hemmed in/watched some of the time but it was very, very busy. Very popular so book early. I'm sure we'll be back but would probably do it mid week so perhaps it wasn't so busy.

Nice and clean. A bit too close together and mainly caravans and camper vans.
Only one water tap and one toilet block. Only 2washing up sinks, I had to wait 20mins to wash up. Which was a surprise only about 6 tents.
I was put in corner, by fence, difficulty in putting tent up due to fence in the way. Furthest away from water and toilets. Not good when raining.
Although nice and clean not for me, my son was bored, no play area. More suitable for adults.
Sorry will not be coming again.

A warm welcome from friendly, knowledgeable wardens. Immaculately clean and warm facilities. Although the push button showers were annoying there was plenty of hot water. Large pitches nicely landscaped in an orchard.
Miles of lovely walks both country and harbourside. Visited Hayling Island and Bosham in the 'van and found pleny of parking with no height barriers at both places. Excellent pub next door with well cooked food at reasonable prices and a Chinese restaurant 5 mins walk up the road. Interesting farm shop, Coop and Boots a short walk away. Bus to Portsmouth and Brighton via Chichester and Bognor stops outside the site.
On the down side, only one water and waste point on site and no motorhome service point so a lot of trips with the bucket. Quite a lot of traffic and train noise, but not really a problem and it was very quiet over night.
Will be visiting again.

A very friendly welcome from the staff set it off nicely. The showers and loos very clean and plenty hot water. Showers are push button and the loos are lacking a good flush but otherwise good. It's a small well laid out site with a good pub next door, nice ale and food. Train station 10 minute walk with frequent trains to Portsmouth or Southampton. All in all a nice base for visiting these towns. In good weather I would think nice walks and bike rides are plentiful.
