Our first impressions were good very friendly and helpful staff who helped us settle in. The weather was awful very heavy rain 1 day brilliant sun the next it got very muddy but as all of the facilities were close by it didnt matter. The toilets and showers were very clean as was the disabled. A very nice small site we will be going again.

We were really disappointed in this site which didn't have the ambience or location of many other C&C sites we have visited. Major problems included lack of space between pitches, and the gestapo like wardens, who gave the impression that the campers were raining on their parade! Although children are accepted we would advise anyone with kids that it's right next to a major main road with lorries and speed freaks whizzing by all day and night. The wardens make it crystal clear children are not welcome with a positive litany of prohibition signs. Although toilet and shower facilities were clean, they were closed at night, and from 11am for 1.5 hours every morning with no emergency loo available. Not nice if you are disabled or have children needing the loo or a shower. Although dogs accepted there is no dog walk area, and you have to take your life in your hands crossing the main road and a stile to reach a public footpath.

August 2005 A surprisingly disappointing site run like a military compound with signs everywhere stating do not do this, that, and the other. Pitches crammed in so close together you can hear adjacent camper's personal conversations at night, only relieved by the quite thunderous unshielded traffic noise from the A259 road outside. Although toilet and shower facilities were clean, they were closed at night, and from 11am for 1.5 hours every morning with no emergency loo available. Not nice if you are disabled or have children needing the loo or a shower.Although dogs accepted there is no dog walk area, and you have to take your life in your hands crossing the main road and a stile to reach a public footpath. Coded barrier and 11pm lock in adds to the ambience.Prices for 3 adults and unit exhorbitant. Wardens sullen and unfriendly. Definately an emergency night stop only!

Site is central for touring lovely area. Trains from local station go all along south coast and in to London.Local town of Emsworth is lovely, no-one else mentioned it in their reviews - did they miss it. Absolutely beautiful little harbour and walks around the shore to the bridge over to Hayling Island.
Pitches a bit tight to get on to but the wardens immensley helpful and no reversing involved, they will help you push your van if necessary.
Facilities immaculate. Very popular as a break before catching the ferries. We look forward to going again next year.

June 2005 Nice quiet site. Small, facilities were lovely and clean. We took two young children and were reminded that there were no play areas etc... Don't think the warden's are keen to have kids on site. There are lots of mature campers on site so maybe they're worried about children making too much noise and upsetting the oldies!! Maybe we did eh.. Still a very nice place and would recommend it to any one with out children..

4 - 18 August 2003 Small CC & C Site (60 pitches) on main A259 at Southbourne, this road is quite at night, but there is some noise from the A27 at night, not noticeable during day. Showers and toilets are immaculately kept by the wardens. Quiet site within walking distance of Coop Supermarket, 2 farm shops, 1 pub and a Chinese and Indian Restaurant. Next door to the doctors surgery. Walking distance to the station for days out without the car, or alternatively there is a bus stop just outside the campsite. Not really a suitable site for children although there were some children on site. The site is geared up for the mature camper. Electronic gates and closed to cars from 11pm - 7am.

april 2002 This site is a camping and caravaning site and is run very well by the wardens. The site is quiet with restrictions on late and early vehicle movements. This means that the site is just right for those who like the peace and tranquility of the countryside. On saying that the main A259 runs just outside the main gate. If you are like me and have a motorhome then the frequent bus service that runs most of the day to either Portsmouth in one direction and chichester in the other. Altogether a very nice site for the mature camper
