We found the site very easy, it can be mistaken for the one next door, the loos and shower block were up the the usual club standard, the site is very small compared to the normal club sites, campers with children should be aware that there is no playground on site, I personally found the site manager very unhelpful, but it must be said his assistants went out the way to help you with pleasant greetings which after all makes a holiday complete.
There is a Co-Op store about 5 mins down the road with a free cash machine, or if you are coming in from a day out from the Portsmouth direction you will find a small Tesco and a great fish and chip shop in Emsworth ( first turning off main Emsworth roundabout) called Mother Kellys, there are plenty to do in this area.. Historic Dockyard, Spinnaker Tower, and the old town at Portsmouth, Arundel, Winchester, and all the little harbour inlets around Chichester Harbour, one being a 10 min walk from the other side of road at the site front gates (beware very busy road) this bringing me to the big let down of this site. Very noisy from about 5am until gone midnight a absolute racket. Will I come back to this site.NO!

We stayed at this site previously about 15 years ago. We didn't have children then and were pitched in the orchard which was pleasant even though the pitches are quite small and close together.
We returned recently for 3 nights as this site is convenient for us to visit relatives who live locally. We were pitched not in the orchard, but at the front of the site very close to the main road. The road is very busy and road noise meant sleep beyond 6.30am was impossible. Our pitch was tiny. The only place to park our car was directly in front on the caravan. We were surrounded on all sides by a total of seven other caravans and had a motorhome pitched directly opposite our awning, less than 10 feet away. There was no privacy whatsoever and no space for the children to play near to the van. As the site also has no play area the children were practically caravan bound during the time we spent on site. There is no dog walk on site, but the other side of the main road there is a lovely walk which within 15 minutes takes you down to the sea. The toilet block was well kept. We didn't find the staff very friendly. The Co-op is only 5 minutes walk away and is well stocked and priced. We also had a fabulous Chinese take away from Golden Chopsticks in the village.
All in all a disappointing visit and a very different experience, welcome and pitch to the one we had 15 years ago when we didn't have children.

A smaller, quieter and calmer site. Seemed to have fewer children. This maybe due to there being no specified children's area. Having said all that it is a lovely site with a personal feel. Very easy to chat to others. Wardens were great and the facilities were very good. Very convenient for visiting Portsmouth etc. As it is quite flat in the surrounding area it is a nice area for cycling and walking.

As others have said a friendly welcome and help to pitch, this included assistance with reversing. Pretty site, not large with lots of trees but very busy and a slight feeling of being enclosed. No noise at night and toilets and showers very clean. Limited goods for sale in reception but a very nice farm shop just down the road with plenty of parking. Emsworth is well worth a visit. Would use this site again if in the area

Often stay in Bognor area to visit son, so have checked out several sites in area.
Stayed only one night. Site was quite full and seemed a bit cramped but quite acceptable. We seemed to have got the last pitch even though it was a weekday outside school hols. This pitch was quite close to and right in front of loos and we would not have liked to stay more than one night as there was no privacy at all watching people emptying their loos and getting water, going to loo block etc!
Nice friendly staff.
5/6 min walk to local shop open until 10pm. Pub 2 mins walk away.
Site facilities very clean and nice.
Public buses run outside site and perfect for Freedom Pass holders to travel to Chichester, Portsmouth etc. No need to move the van once parked up.
Will certainly use the site again but would prefer a different pitch.

We visited this site for a week in July 06, just before the school holiday season started.
Initial impact was nice, the site was well maintained with lots of flower tubs and easy enough to find being right by the main road.
Only one car allowed on the pitch but they gave use a space to park a second car near the toilet block.
Pitches were allocated by the warden, who took you to the pitch and made sure you put your van exactly where he wanted it. We prefer sites where you can choose your own pitch and it wouldn’t have been our choice of pitch but it was OK. Pitch size was adequate although not generous.
Toilets and showers were spotless with ample hot water.
I agree with the poster who said it was like a POW camp with rules and notices everywhere – and the notices grew during our visit. A family whose children were playing ball caused the wardens to put a notice near the water tap about ball games.
Dogs were supposed to be on leads but there were several older couples, clearly ‘regulars’ who had yappy-snappy little dogs that were often off their leads and the wardens didn’t make them put them on leads.
There was no dog walk on site and you were not allowed to walk dogs around the site- the walks to the harbour were fantastic but you did have to cross the main road to get to them.
There was an 11pm movement curfew, as on a lot of sites, which was fine, but the karaoke from the site the other side of the fence went on until the small hours on Friday and Saturday nights. Apart from that we didn’t find a problem with noise.
There was plenty to do in the area, we could have easily occupied ourselves for another week, but if we came back to the area we wouldn’t here and this site did put us off the C and CC as it was so regimented.

A pleasant site and easy to find.Reception is large and booking in was okay. Entry is via an elctronic keypad barrier. The road around the site was gravel and had some potholes in places. The hardstanding was plastic guard on grass, which was okay, but in the heavy rain, it was slow to drain. The shower block was clean and modern but only two of the four showers were working during our stay. The showers are the annoying push button type. The toilets were clean and accessed via another entrance. There is a small laundry / dishwashing area. Motorhome owners please note that there is NO Motorhome service point. 10 min walk from the site is a coop supermarket for papers etc, and close by Southbourne farm shop which is worth a visit. There is a bus stop outside the site entrance to Chichester & Portsmouth. WE walked to the rail station (15 mins) a cheap day return to Portsmouth £4.50p) regular service which we enjoyed to Portsmouth harbour, Exit for the ferries, Gunwharf Keys shopping centre and historic dockyard (loved HMS Victory). Chichester was worth a visit, We had a walk along the ancient city walls and visited the shops, went by bus, same price as train and had to stand! Pub 'Travellers Joy' outside site, didn't use but others said it was nice with decent portions. Nice walks close by, one path by the farm shop with take you to the harbour / marina.

Enjoyed the visit to this site, friendly staff and clean loos. Good location for exploring the area. The station is 10 minutes walk away, caught the train to Portsmouth Harbour and then the passenger ferry to the Isle of Wight (look on the internet for offers, we got a two for one voucher off the ferry website) A day bus/train pass lets you explore the whole island, we got as far as Yarmouth. The site is perhaps not so suited for families as there is no play areas and the main road outside is quite busy and also creates a bit of traffic noise. The walk to the estuary takes about 15 minutes across fields. Would use the site again.

This was only the second camp site we have ever stayed on and to be honest, we were initially a little disappointed as the site appears to be a little soulless and cramped, (but then we had just been spoilt with the open spaces and stunning views of Dartmoor only hours before). The staff helped me to position the caravan onto its hard standing, (as the neighbouring pitch was a little too tight to enable me to reverse safely). The toilets are very clean and site was maintained to a good standard, there are lots of regularly emptied bins and fresh drinking water areas. It has to be said that the staff made us all feel very welcome (and considering that we arrived with a 4 month old puppy and an 18 month old baby girl brings into question some of the criticisms from other reviewers). The walk across the road to the coast is well worth taking as its safe, dog friendly, and you can get a 'cuppa' by the harbour. I'm not sure we would return, but can recommend it for anyone wishing to use its location as a stepping point for this beautiful part of the country.

We came back again this time with friends. This is the friendliest site we have been on so far. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. All of the facilities were excellent and very clean. The disabled toilet/showers were a joy to use the water was always hot and plenty of it. Everything is a credit to the staff. We will be back soon.
