This is the best camp site I have visited. The owner and the team were welcoming and lovely to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble. The site is in a great location only 2 miles from St Ives. The facilities were spotless and plentiful. There is a small pub on-site for guests which had great character. They offer a take away service for breakfast which made for a relaxing start to the day. We had a lovely peaceful time and will be back soon.

The site was peaceful over the 3rd week in September and understandably the on site bar and shop had shut. Not a problem as the local pubs were good for nice food and its certainly ok for a moonlit walk back from The Balnoon Lodge (modern bar) whilst The Engine is further but do-able (cosy old-style pub).
The site itself was very well maintained with big grassy pitches and divided up into areas screened by shrubbery, and only 16 pound for 2 per night including electricity (late Sept). Its quite possible to cycle into St Ives but if you're out for a night we were charged 14 pounds for the 2 mile journey home. We would definitely come here again.

Now you’re talking! Higher Penderleath is a wonderful site, managed by a lovely couple. We booked our three night stay at short notice over the phone which was well received and we were assured that we would be able to turn up and finalise details upon arrival. When we got there we were made very welcome and sited in an excellent location and largely left to get on with it but with the offer of advice or help if we wanted.
The site is in an excellent location for exploring Cornwall despite it technically being ‘inland’ you can see the sea from the camping fields, the amazing vista giving you a taste of the Cornish countryside.
We got a real country feel at Higher Penderleath and loved every minute of our stay, enjoying laid back conversations with Mandy and Chris who incidentally have a great sense of humour too!
Despite other review referring to the access, we had no problems whatsoever with our twin axle outfit, we just took our time.
Facilities at Higher Penderleath are brilliant, although only the smaller facilities were open as it was during the lower season.
It’s not often we’d return to a site as we prefer to travel on to new places but in the case of Higher Penderleath we WILL be back as the location and manner in which we were welcomed is second to none.

Our fourth successive visit to Higher-Penderleath. A rural location approx 3 miles from St Ives, very picturesque with bus service from camp site into town.
Wonderful hospitality as ever from the family run site. You’re made to feel very welcome and the staff go out of their way to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Facilities are immaculate and very well maintained. The site has a friendly pub which serves excellent bar meals, a play area and trampoline for kids as well as a games room.
Another lovely holiday despite the Great British weather!

Penderleath is what camping dreams are made of, set in deep cornish foliage, the campsite is rustic, organised and happy. There is a quaint bar on site and they have pretty much thought of everything without losing any of the charm of the place. St ives is very close and there is a bus that pulls up at the site every couple of hours. The Engine Inn is a mile or so away, proper pub with good food. You could walk there but it would probably rain. Thank you Penderleath.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Higher Penderleath Camp site for a week in July 2012. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, shown around and given plenty of advise and leaflets for local attractions.
We were given ample space for pitching up, due to the awful current weather conditions this meant the camp site was not too busy.
The toilet/shower facilities were clean and tidy however the water pressure seemed weak when showering and the owners needed reminding to fill up the toilet roll and hand towels.
The camp site setting was immaculate and rural with the locals (bunnies) grazing. The location was great for views and central for getting to various destinations.
Unfortunately we did not venture into the pub on site therefore no review! But we did find a lovely little pub, just up the road, called the Engine Inn. Less than 20 minutes by foot. They made us feel very welcome and treated us like one of the locals. The food was absolutely delicious and we highly recommend popping in.
Overall we had a wonderful holiday and definitely look to stay again.
PS, note no camp fires are allowed here however a BBQ is fine.

Really enjoyed our 4 night stay in August at this lovely site. Everything apart from the weather was perfect.
All aspects ticked the boxes: showers & toilets were nice and clean; enjoyed on site pub which was good;
3 pubs close by serving nice food (not suitable for walking to them); bus service to St. Ives was great,
owners were very nice & friendly; tent pitches were good; local area is lovely especially St. Ives and the site is very well located to visit many nice places in this part of West Cornwall.
We would definitely like to come back next year and would really recommend Higher Penderleath Caravan & Camping Park.

Had a wedding at The Castle Hotel and this was an ideal nearby site. Quiet. Tidy, well maintained pitches. Nice welcome and well organised pitching areas. Level and sheltered.
Good facilities and shop.
The bus stops at the campsite entrance and a £1. 50 single fare to St Ives centre is cheaper than parking and saves your legs too. Loads to do and see nearby.
Zennor museum is very interesting and the coastal scenery breathtaking. Watch out for the dive bombing seagulls in St Ives. If you don't shield your icecream or pasty you will get mobbed. Adds some entertainment to the day watching the unsuspecting tourist get hit!

Located close to the moor, within easy reach of St Ives, I would say less than 2 miles from the St Ives border although slightly further to the centre of the town.
The site, even at the end of the season (end sept) looked clean & tidy. The showers were nice, there was a freezer pack service & toilets were also clean. Sometimes a site can look tired but not so this site.
They had an end of season special which made the site good value for money, which compared to staying at the caravan/camping club sites which are our normal stopovers with fully serviced pitches at double we have high expectations of anywhere we stay!
It was a fairly blowey weekend, but the welcome was certainly warm from both the owners! And their little dog made our own springer very welcome.
The bar was nice & felt like a small pub rather than clubhouse & we enjoyed a few drinks there.
Would stay again if were in the area overnight.

We stayed at Penderleath for the last week of august for 9 days in a tent (pitch no 74 ), and have to say it was the best holiday that we have had. Our party consisted of myself, my husband and our 7 year old son. We stumbled across the campsite and did not book in advance, we were made to feel very welcome and were so very impressed by the lay out of the campsite and the facilities it had. I found it to have and warm family feel. The pitch was a marvellous size as we have quite a large 6 berth outwell tent, and were pleased with the privacy it also gave us. The toilets and showers were always clean and the dishwashing area alike.
There is a bus service that runs every hour from the campsite to St Ives marvellous service but a little pricey £8 return for a family of 3 !
We will certainly be retuning and would like to thank them for their kindness and hospitality.
