June 2005 A lovely setting on the hills overlooking St Ives and has the potential to be a great campsite, however our visit was marred by several points.
The showers were either scalding or cold and the sinks in the gents washroom also cold. The gents washroom in particular wasn't very clean! Spent entire week having strip down washes using kitchen sink in the *kitchen* area as this was only sink with reliably hot water!
Also the shop never appeared to be open and we could find a member of site staff etc when there was a problem!
So on the whole disappointed with the site and won't be returning. Hopefully they will address the washroom problems as they really let the park down!

August 2004 We read the other reviews, booked & stayed 8 nights. Result: disappointed. Good points: Very friendly staff. Mostly flat pitches (but not level). Bad: Overcrowded facilities. e.g. we counted 30 caravans, 110 tents, plus a group of scouts in 2 big & 6 small tents. These all sharing 5 ladies sit downs & 4 gents (one seat broken), plus a single disabled loo. Queue's were common at the normal busy times and the general cleanliness, suffered as a result. If you go here with a big tent, make sure you tell them what space you need. We did, but still had to be creative with some guys, as we squeezed into the allocated area (& we were honest about our tent size). Maybe we hit the place in a busy period, but we will not be going back.
We will, however, revisit a pub that's not far away "The Engine Inn", Cripplesease. Found this to be a very friendly pub, with lovely homemade food inc. Stk&Kid pud, four types of stew, to name a couple, plus heavenly choc sponge pud with real choc sauce (now where's that exercise m/c).

June 2004 Scott and Denise, Thank you for some of the best holidays I have had since the early 1990s. and the way you looked after everyone when the Eclipes was seen there I will remember for a long time. I can whole-heartedly recommend this quiet nicely kept site to families as a base for touring SW Cornwall. Best Regards. Mr D Eldred. Derbyshire.

July 2004 A very well maintained and well run family site for both caravaners and campers. Having viewed alot of other sites in the general area this certainly rates as the top one! The pitches are well spaced, with a nice play area for children which is by no means noisy and plenty of open space for the older ones. Free shuttle bus to town, shop, helpful staff and a quiet bar all add to the sites charm. Have already booked return visit and looking foward to it!

July & Sept 2002 An excellent site, run by excellent people. We have been going to this site for 21 years and have seen the vast improvements that have been made. When we first went it was one big field, but now it is divided by trees and shrubs which has brought the wildlife back. we particulary like the 6 weeks adult only period, it is heaven.
