Not very impressed by this site, there are many more better sites available than this one, and cheaper.
Only used this site as a stopover on the way up to Durness, didn't bother to call in on the way back.

Great views across the bay. Spar very near and a bar/cafe on-site.
Hard standing pretty cramped and on a slight slope but what a view.
All amenities working and clean.
Even watched a seal in the bay below us swim and fish for hours.

A lovely site in a beautiful position on the edge of a beach with amazing sunsets. Ehu hardstanding area did seem a bit regimented along the front, although plenty of others to choose. Non ehu could pitch anywhere and although the site was on a slope it has been well terraced to give tiered level pitches, so you don't feel cheek by jowl with your neighbour.
Good, clean facilities block and free hairdryer in the ladies. Laundry and washing up areas fine. There is a pub on site, but we didn't visit, also a Spar just up the road. Some good walks from the site, and just sitting watching the tide come in and out and the sun set was magical.

Stopped here one night on the NC500. Didn't warm to the site, it didn't feel welcoming. First thing that 'greets' you is a list of very many rules, in jokey verse, writ large on a sign 2 metres high.
The rules are repeated 10 feet away by the toilets. And there's a third big sign nearby, more rules about dogs. Seems they'd prefer to be a 'no dogs' site. Office opens at 6:00pm, pitch up & come back, £20 for EHU. Most of the hook-ups are sited in what looks like a massive car park overhanging the shore & vehicles were closely spaced.
Tents do well - they have pretty grassy terraces where they can hunker out of the wind (we were exposed to strong east, then north and finally west winds, all during our one-night stopover) but tents have to be re-sited every 3 days to keep the grass green (says one of the rules). Washrooms looked new.
Showers hot & free, but tiny cubicles, and no stool - you keep your stuff dry by tossing it up onto a metal rack over the door: I struggled to reach my clothes as I'd thrown them too far back: strange arrangement! Lots of local walks - there are leaflets at the Spar.
Good views, though every site on the NC500 has them to be fair.

This was our second visit to the campsite, this time with two kids (4 & 6) in tow. The site was very quiet, especially for July! We could therefore get a great spot overlooking the sea. The location is pretty spectacular.
Registering was done in the on-site pub, as there was no staff at reception. It was all fairly straightforward though and a bit cheaper than we paid elsewhere. The showers and toilets were fine, with plenty of hot water, but everything looked quite dated. Some signs were literally fading! Three of the ladies toilets were permanently closed. Stickers on reception indicated listings in all sorts of books but the most recent listing was 2008 so everything seemed quite out of date.
Even though the site was fine, it felt like it was just being kept and not really looked after or improved upon. Even the grass was cut by a local contractor rather than the campsite staff.
There is no playground, but a direct path to the sandy beach to the South of the site itself. It goes past a bird hide which is worth a visit.
The on-site pub is ok but lacks atmosphere. We had some lunch there but didn't come back. Instead we chose the Scourie Hotel and the food, real ale and service are excellent there - we returned for a second meal.
Some noisy kids who we guess are local hung around the pub on Saturday night but moved into the reception area (!) when it started raining.

What a fantastic view this site has ! its elevated position overlooking the bay & harbour ! some of the best sunsets I have ever seen, amazing ! I must admit we managed to get one of the front row pitches and I parked right up to the edge, but later moved away slightly as I don't like heights lol ! The Toilet & shower block is modern and was immaculately clean. When we turned up there was no one in reception however a sign directed us to the cafe to pay as it seems the 2 young ladies run both the campsite and the cafe / bar ! We had breakfast in the Cafe which was OK ! there is a small shop, petrol stn and hotel just up the road ! all in all a nice site with a brilliant view will use again !

We have stayed on this site on three separate occasions.
The facilities are modern and always cleaned.
The staff are often not in the office but yu can ususally find someone somewhere, for this reason checking in can be slow or you may be asked to return at a set time.
The pub on site is a good space but seems to lack atmosphere somehow, maybe background music would help ??
We used the washing machine and drier, they both worked well and cost around £4 for a large wash and dry, t was also very quick !
The position of the site next to the beach and harbour is lovely, there are a couple of small shops and a hotel in the village.

Brilliant site. Run with dedication and efficiency. All tent pitches are perfectly flat with good soft ground. Grass kept short. Immaculate showers/toilets etc.
The on site cafe is superb offering reasonably priced meals.
The owners seem to be a close knit team of sibling sisters who run a very tight ship. I would highly recommend this site. Of the sites we visited around our cycle tour of Scotland (10) this one was probably the best. If they maintain this high standard, then this site could be the one to set all others by.
The Achindarroch site at Duror is nearly as good. It's a close run thing, but the cafe nudges this one into the top spot of those we visited.

Had a great run up from Inverness, my first time this far up in Scotland. Camp site is in a great setting and pretty well laid out. The facilities are good, much better than most campsites I've been to in Scotland. Clean toilets and free showers with lots of hot water. Could do with a few more showers in peak times but that's a minor quibble.
Nobody in the office at anytime that we could see but there is a member of staff usually to be found doing odd jobs and we approached him to pay. Prices were fair and average for what we got.
The on site pub is always busy but we did not eat there as the menu was mainly fried foods and not appealing to us.
There is no actual facilities on site for children but in the vicinity we saw a play park and there is the beach.
Lots to do in the area, we drove up to Durness and saw the caves, a small crafty village and had a good long walk on the beautiful beach. So much to see and do up there I was very surprised. Lochinver was beautiful as is Ullapool.
I'm not an animal lover but the area is good for all sorts of wildlife.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on site which I prefer but I appreciate that's not to everyone's liking.
We'll be back, we loved the area and laid back atmosphere

Site laid out very nicely with lots of spots for tents which provide some protection on windy days. Excellent views over the bay. Spot where I camped was good for pegs, went in easily. Good, clean facilities and in sufficient number. Pub at the entrance seemed decent enough and hotel with bar in the village 2 minutes walk away. Shop in the village too. Pay phone up the road. Scourie also has 24hr petrol station (automated credit card when shop closed)- very handy in these parts!
Really highly recommended. A light sea breeze when I camped, so no midges either.
