Good location, friendly staff.
On the slightly down side. No signs when you enter the drive to the estate. Just keep going and look for a barrier on the right. There is a water tap 30 yards on the left but no sign to say so.
My biggest problem came when taking a shower.
It was one of those dreaded push-button types where it takes 10 minutes to get warm water. To get this you need to be in the shower unable to escape the cold spray. After achieving a decent lather the button ceased to operate. When it finally burst back into life the other 2 showers were in use and there was barely a trickle. The fold down seat is behind the door so of no use and everything has to hang off the same hook.
Having said this I would return.

Everything is just perfect here is you want to get away from it all. Nice and quiet and a very well kept site.
Toilet block is spotless, and pub and shops only a short drive down the road. Ann and John are great who run the site.
We have booked to go back next month.

On arrival a nice drive up the lane to the Hall, signs not too clear once outside the hall as to where to go. Stopped outside barrier to ring warden so they could let us in the barrier, held a local up whilst waiting!
Once settled up our dues we were told we could choose a pitch, we have a six birth tourer but found the pitch snug, we were asked to keep the car off the grass - no problem as we did not have our awning but car and caravan filled up the hard standing.
First electric pole we tried the RCD was faulty so we had to use a neighbouring pole, could have been a problem though if the site was full.
We were surprised to see that the hand drier in the gents was still broken as only one drier in the mens, there was also a shower curtain missing on one of the three gents showers. The worktop where the vanity basins were did not seem to get cleaned whilst we were there and the showers did not appear to be cleaned either, all in all the facilities could do with an update.
The site was peaceful and clean until the last night when it filled up, the tents filled up the grass in the middle of the site so there would be no where for the children to play or to sit and enjoy the British weather. There was also a visiting Duke of Edinburgh group which was noisy until gone 1030 in the evening.
There was plenty to do in the surrounding area and good shops in Oakham. Marstons at the Buttercross in Oakham are good for food but worth booking in advance unless you are prepared to wait.

The drive up to the campsite is beautiful and the site itself is very well laid out. The wardens are very polite and friendly. All attractions are within a 20 minute drive. Nice pubs in the village. Only The Wheatsheaf does food and you do have to book.
However, the only drawback is the showers. The site seems to have a lack of water pressure and if one person has a shower in either block it cuts the water off for everyone else.
If you have your own shower then this site is a gem. If you don't then you will have to pick a time when no one else is in the showers.

A very warm welcome from the extremely helpful Warden. The site is lovely, with spacious hard standing pitches and quiet. The toilet block was very clean, plenty of hot water - the only slight niggle was that the hand drier in the Gents wasn't working. Our motorhome is a large US Gulfstream, and we have a Smart car on a trailer - all accommodated no problem.
We will return at some time.

We have just spent a few days at Louisa Alice Campsite and can't praise it enough! In a beautiful setting, this site offers peace and tranquillity, with everything on hand to complete the experience! The wardens couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The site is neat, clean and well planned. The toilet/shower block is kept pristine clean with amenities to hand. A sheltered area in the centre is furnished with picnic tables and there is a small 'grassy' free-space also. We couldn't have wished for better! Definitely on our list of 'MUST GO BACK AGAINS. ' Thank you so much.

We stayed over bank holiday weekend, and felt it was more geared towards caravans than campers, with tents were too tightly packed in (like a festival).
We were told to move our tent away from our group of friends after the first night as we were too close to a caravan, even though the caravan occupants didn't mind. We were then told to move our cars the following day to make way for caravans, but not told where we should move them to (there was no room as there were too many people). Rules a plenty, not made to feel like valued customers.

Visited for Easter weekend, a bit nervous due to previous comments on the site. However we found a little gem, very welcoming and helpful wardens. Well laid out with hardstanding and planted verges. The shower block is slightly dated but very clean and lots of hot water, we were told that this site is still a work in progress, so far they have really done a first class job in the two years under new management, and it shows. We had awful weather with gale force winds but a lovely pub next to site in Langham village, The Wheatsheaf, provides delicious Sunday Lunches, we will be back!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Louisa Alice. The site was just what we were looking for not too big, very clean and tidy and the owners were very pleasant and helpful. Everyone was very friendly. The surrounding area was lovely plenty to do and see either walking or travelling in the car. Thanks Ann and John you deserve the credit.

I stopped here 4 nights, a pretty well kept campsite. They have a lovely grass area in the middle with picnic benches. However, over the bank holiday weekend the managers squeezed so many tents onto the grassed area that it looked like a gypsies camp. As a touring caravan we had two tents 4 foot away from our awning and they set up a seating area overlooking us. They were so loud we couldn't hear our ipad playing a pod cast at night. They were also next to another caravan that was literally 1 foot away and they complained of smoke going into their caravan. There was no privacy which was really frustrating so we didn't open our awning curtains. I would not stop again at this site, which is a real shame.
