Four nights break
Booked at the last minute allocated a pitch in the middle grass pitch vey level.
Toilet block looked very clean but a strong smell of drains in both male and female block some days more than others.
Very nice site otherwise no dog walking area could walk to two pubs the albey horse shoe on the main road landlord vey friendly had a couple of meals there did not try the other pub a bit further to walk to.
Back to the site very peaceful can hear peacocks but that's the sound of the country as some people didn't like.
The only thing we would say is don't pick the pitches in the middle grass pitches as you are on display to all the time felt like in a goggle box not a lot of privicay the pitches that are hard standing are a better choice. Around the perimeter.
Would stay here again possibly.

Camped here 28 to 31 July 2017. The owners are very friendly and the facilities excellent with superb shower/toilet blocks and very handy electric hookup and water supply to each pitch. Free wifi is a bonus. The site provides easy access to local attractions (recommend Alby Craft Centre just down the road) and local supermarkets/garages.
Would definitely stay here again. CS from Epsom, Surrey

We first visited this site back in May but I didn't get around to reviewing it then.
Overall this a a great site. Friendly and helpful owner, and fantastically well maintained. Great location for getting about and two pubs in walking distance (the Albey is the better with the nicest food and it's closer). There some beautiful walks from the site, both long and short that is great for the dogs. There is convenient shopping in alysham just 4 miles down the road with great local produce as well as the obligatory supermarket.
I must admit at this busy time, camping in the middle felt very overlooked and the site felt quite commercial, not what we enjoy from a campsite. The recycling bins kept overflowing and the owners did nothing about it (which was a surprise given their usual attention to detail). There was also a constant smell of drains in the toilets we hadn't noticed on our last trip.
A succession of loud groups rather spoilt the tranquillity, although the owner did speak to them. Most people were nice and friendly and respected each other.
We probably won't go back to this site in high season, but would very much consider it again for a low season stay.

This is the third time we've been there - it's a superb site! Showers and toilets are always spotless.
Plenty of hot water for washing up.
No charges for leaving ice packs in freezer overnight.
Walking distance to the main road from Cromer to Norwich with bus stops nearby.

Just returned from a week at dears mead. Received a warm welcome from mark who showed us to our pitch and all the facilities.
This is a five star site from pitches to the toilets and showers. Plus free wifi [take note caravan club]. A great place to base yourself for the sites and beauty of Norfolk. Will definitely return again

This is a small Adults Only site consisting of 35 serviced pitches – which includes wifi. The location and clean facilities are excellent. I particularly appreciated the fact the shower block was heated even though it was late June because we were experiencing quite cold mornings.
We were booked in by Mark who was extremely helpful and friendly.
There is no dedicated dog walk and even though (most) people keep their dogs on a lead, a small number allow their dogs to foul the empty grass pitches. Yes, they scoop the poop but there will inevitably be a small residual amount of poop left on the grass. Not very nice for the next visitor who unknowingly erects a tent on the pitch.
The pitches next to the road require levelling blocks.

Advertised as an Adult only site we were totally disappointed that our last two days were spoilt by a group of noisy adults who played with their drone over. Our caravan and car. They also fired platic bolts at each other from the safety of our caravan side and behnd our car. Topping it all off by throwing small plastic aeroplanes at each other. Followed by a large bbq and lots of noise. It is worse than being surrounded by children as they should know better.
Having said that we had 11 days of peace and tranquilty and would recommend the site but not at this time of year.

This is a small but beautifully laid out caravan site, just off the main road between Norwich and Cromer.
The facilities building is stunning, immaculately clean and very well appointed. The showers have unlimited hot water, and each cubicle is huge.
Frankly, this is a stunning campsite. If only all sites were this well laid out and well set up.
Two minor quibbles, and they are in the nit picking category. The entrance gate is quite narrow. This means if you're coming from Erpingham rather than from the main road from Norwich, it's a tight turn to get into the site. The other minor quibble is the neighbouring peacocks. They do tend to shriek at all hours, so not the most relaxing sound.
Would I go back to Deers Mead? Absolutely!

We found this site purely by accident about 3 years ago and we haven't stayed anywhere else since! We go 'out of season', so the site is perfect for us - on one occasion, we were the only ones there. Once you've stayed here, you'll start to look really hard at what other sites offer. Still so many claiming to be 'wonderful' yet still having push-button showers and seriously outdated toilets and washing-up facilities. None of that here and that's what makes it wonderful, along with on-site owners who have always been only too happy to help or offer advice. I've looked for somewhere else to go, because I like variety but since staying at Deers Mead, nowhere else comes anywhere near :-)x x

Brilliant site, well positioned for touring the area, short walking distance to several cafés/pubs and to the bus stop either towards Norwich or Cromer. Quiet, restful site with friendly staff and spotlessly clean toilet facilities. Good value for money and includes wifi. Certainly up to modern expected standards and highly recommended.
