We stayed here for just over 2 weeks having been earlier in the year and liked the site so much. We have previously used their other site Deers Glade further down the road but prefer Deers Mead as it is Adults Only and has fully serviced pitches. The owners and the on site warden are very friendly and helpful. The site is small, beautifully kept, with enormous pitches. Having a TV connection and free wi-fi is what all sites should provide now in my opinion. The shower block is lovely and warm on chilly mornings. The showers are huge like a small wet room with plenty of room to put your clothes without everything getting wet. No annoying shower curtain or timed controls and you can regulate the temperature yourself. The laundry facilities and washing up room are also excellent. The pitches are all in a large circle with the amenities block situated in the centre so whatever pitch you have there is only a small walk to the building. When we were there in September the site was nearly full some of the time but I never had to wait to use any of the amenities. What I also like about this site is it feels very laid back. It is quiet and relaxing and dog-friendly. It has rules that don't feel petty and although they do 'pitch and store' there are no season pitches which tend to make a site look shabby and can be an eyesore. Everyone we met there whether tenters, motorhomers or caravanners seemed very impressed with the facilities and many said they intend to return. We are already planning to return next year. There are pubs and shops within a short distance and a great farm shop and restaurant in the next village. Also a Chinese takeaway and a fish and chip shop within a few minutes' drive. No dog walk on site and not ideal dog walking outside the site due to the narrow country lanes. Apart from several short walks a day around the site itself chatting to the other campers and dog owners we would take ours out in the car for a run on the cliff top at Cromer for extra exercise. There are some pitches where the tree branches overhang and when we stayed there in May we had a bit of bird poo on our awning. However we chose a different pitch in September and did not have this problem so before booking it may be worth discussing this with the owners. Also some pitches get the sun all day and others are in the shade after the morning which may affect your choice of pitch.

Well, we hope to be back next year!
Small very peaceful adult onlty site and we were blessed with good weather.
Standard price, no extras for awnings, gazebos.
Facilities really good, showers are wet rooms with cubicle as well for dressing with hooks and seat. Spotless and not push button.
Laundry we used, tokens required, £2. 50 for wash, £1. 50 for dryer.
Wash up area we didn't use, but looked very clean. Freezer available.
Heather is delightful, very friendly and helpful warden.
Hardstanding almost level, just used our blocks.
Norwich Airport Park and ride is about 20 minutes away. Free parking and £2. 50 all day bus with return, no height barriers in the P&R car park.
Cromer 15 minutes away, lovely traditional seaside town.
Walkable (via a little track which Heather explained) is a craft centre with gardens and a bistro. We had a lovely lunch there and they are open for dinner a couple of times a week.
Next door to the craft centre is a lovely friendly pub, Alby Horseshoe on the A140, 7 minutes walk from site and we had a good evening meal there.
Our neighbours went to the Erpingham Arms which they said was very good but more pricey and a good mile from the site.
Not to be missed, seal spotting boat trip near Blakeney

Was a great site for visiting Norfolk. Nice spacious pitches. Lovely facilities. Enjoyed walking the dog down the lanes. Look out for the deer while walking. The seal watching boat trips from Morston Marshes at Blakeney are well worth doing. A great trip out to sea.

We booked very last minute (on the day), as beginning of October was having some lovely weather. The site is small, maybe 30 or so pitches. The pitches are spacious and once the dividing shrubbery has grown will be even better. Service pitch was great. The hard standing pitches appear to be level, ours certainly was. Facilities superb, better than some hotels I have stayed in. I didn't use them, but went and had a nose. The showers have huge shower heads and the cubicles are roomy. My husband had no bad comment to make re the chemical toilet emptying facility. The only thing he did mention was a positive comment about having a sink/soap there to wash your hands.
The site welcomes dogs and it's defence re some of the comments below, it doesn't state on their website that they have a dog walking area, so I think it's unfair to comment negatively regarding this. As mentioned below, pitches 9 - 21 are away from the road, so slightly quieter, though the road is a small lane and not a busy 'A' road. There is a faint hum in the distance of a busier road. If you check their website prior to booking you will see which pitches are furthest from traffic. From approximately pitch 16 upwards have the sun pretty much all afternoon. There is a warden on site.
The site is within an easy drive to the coast, lots of pubs nearby, although we didn't try any. My favourite visit of our 4 night trip was to Holt, a lovely market town, with some nice shops and eateries. My only negative comment would be the lack of mobile signal (wifi was good). This is important to me as I have to regularly check on my mum. I assumed (maybe wrongly), that as there was good internet, mobile signal would be good. My suggestion would be to note this on their website, so at least you are aware.

Just had a relaxing 4 nights at Deers Mead and sure enough on the first night walking our dog on the common behind we saw a deer. This is one of the few adult only sites we've been to where, as tenters, we weren't made to feel like second class citizens. The pitch was huge, flat and with tap, electric and tv point on the boundary. After the initial greeting it was all very relaxed without the rules and regs you get on a lot of sites. The facilities were spotless and we didn't have to wait at any time.
There was a bit of road noise from the A140 but unless a motorbike went past it dulled to background noise and we hardly noticed. The road running alongside the site was busy at the weekend but that was probably due to the mediaeval re-enactment going on in the village. We did feel that the walk to the pub, although the road wasn't too busy, would have been risky given that the nights are getting dark earlier and there are no pavements but in the summer it would be fine. All in all a great little site. We plan to return.

Our expectations were high for this site having read the reviews and to a point the reviews are pretty accurate.
The pitches are a lovely size and all the services worked really well
Things we mark the site down for are:
1) No dog walk so it is out onto the narrow busy lanes. When I saw the common so close I had hoped there would be a gateway through but no such luck and when you get around to it there is a prominent sign saying 'Keep dogs under control. Ground nesting birds' and to be honest it is a wilderness that may be OK for a gundog bit little else. One of our Mini-Schnauzers went 3 metres in and we lost site of him.
2) We booked a pitch and got pitch 20. This gave us 2 sleepless nights as there was an Oak tree growing over it and it rained quiet heavily for the first 2 nights so the dripping from the tree was very loud and the falling acorns! Worse was to come 7 days later when we let the air out of the awning. It was plastered in large bird droppings which due to the roof lining we had not seen from inside. Who in there right mind has pitches under trees???? We had to fold it carefully and forget about bagging it up properly. We left for home rather than try pitching it again at our next site.
3) The toilet block is space wasted. More about design than function. Looks great bit only has 2 showers, very good ones I must say, 2 loo's, 2 urinals and 4 posh looking basins. There is very little ventilation so if you where glasses be aware there is a good chance that after mid morning you will not be able to see in there as they will steam up. There are a couple of extracts that go off as soon as the lights are turned off and you are requested to turn off the lights. I didn't see anywhere air could get in so the fans will remove very little hence on the afternoon we arrived it was very very humid.
4) The WC cassette emptying drain is poorly designed so I recommend wellies and Marigolds as you will get splashed or a badly stretched back. The sink and the hand sanitizer was very welcome.
5) The recycling bins are the big green skips on wheels and you have to lift the main lid and hold it up to put in your waste so you can not easily sort it at the bins so need to do it at your unit.
I sound very picky but am just raising valid points that some may be grateful to know.

Booked this site to be close to the coast and the fact it was adult only, was therefore suprised to see children allowed on the site visiting other campers, as the rules state all visitors to be over 18, the management did not act on their own rules ! Very well laid out site, gravel pitches for which we needed levelers, the toilet /shower block is very modern and was kept Very clean with pot washing room on the side, the site is close to the coast with a bus stop 10 minute walk away, to cromer or Norwich, would recommend but not if you want adult only.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this site. The facilities are excellent! Perfection! Everywhere was clean and tidy. The pitches were really big. Had a little difficulty getting awning pegs in the gravel. But soon sorted with some rock pegs!
The site is very peaceful, no children! And although there were quite a few dogs on site we hardly heard a bark at all!
It is one of the best sites that we have been on, and very reasonable prices too. Fully serviced pitches.
We would highly recommend this site. But make sure you book well in advance, as they do get busy. Only about 30 pitches. So not crowded even when fully booked.
Thank you so much for a really enjoyable stay. We wouldn't hesitate to book again if we were coming to Norfolk again!

This site is lovely & clean, toilets & showers great plenty of hot water no timer on shower. Good location, great pubs locally to eat. However the camp site does not adhere to its own rules, by allowing dogs to run free & allowing children on site even though it's an adult only site. Have to say we were disappointed & will not return as the owners did not act on these issues.

What a beautiful, quiet caravan and camping park this is. We were amazed at the amenities block which had beautiful power showers with a separate seating area to get changed in. The toilets and wash hand basins were kept spotlessly clean and it was so nice and warm. There's a good hairdryer which is free to use. Wifi reception is excellent and there is not a separate charge. There's no room for a dog walk but there is a nice quiet lane nearby.
The pitches are large. The only problem was our pipe for the water wasn't long enough to reach the barrel. Not a problem as the owner bought some pipes the following day (we had said we would buy one the next day). We just paid a deposit for it which was refunded when we left. Very good customer service.
Entertainment was provided by a squirrel which, over the days we were there, tried very hard to get down to the bird feeder which we had hung from the oak tree. Eventually he managed to stretch down the chain to get to the seed but he fell off and landed on top of a hen pheasant that was feeding below him. She didn't bat an eyelid and continued her breakfast as did the squirrel on ground level! So funny to watch.
Cromer is only a few miles from the site. Nice sand but dogs are not permitted there during the busy times, think it was from April to end of September. The pier is not very long. The entertainment season was only starting on the day after we left.
We will definitely return. Thank you for such a nice stay.
