This was the first time we visited this site and we found it was excellent.
The pitches are a very good size the facilities in both the toilet blocks are very clean.
There is a on site cafe/bar and a children's play area.
The pitch we had had its own water and waste points. Located very close to Rother valley country park.
Also within walking distance to a pub, greggs and a caravan shop which was very handy with this begin the first time out this year and some things needed fixing.
All in all an excellent site and location.

Excellent site, the shower and toilet facilities were spotless at any time of the day.
We made use of the coffee shop, which was comfy and reasonably priced.
The site is very well located for exploring the area
So all in all we would recommend Waleswoid without hesitation.

Couldn't really fault this site.
Booking was easy and the check in was friendly and efficient.
Toilet block was immaculate and warm. Showers were good with plenty of hot water
There is a cafe / bar which is open until 9. 30, and a small shop which sells essentials, (but not bread).
Pitches are well laid out with plenty of room between units.
Rother Valley country park is around 1/2 mile away, down quite a steep hill, where there is lots to do inc walks, watersports during the warmer months and many miles of off road trails.
At £24 night, it's not expensive for a site like this.

Lovely clean campsite in a great location on the hill.
Toilets clean most of the time.
Toilet block aesthetically perfect could be better functionally with some more coat clothes hooks by the sinks.
5 minute walk down to the lake and a 3 mile walk around it.
Great for all sorts of mountain biking as well.

I was greeted by a member of staff who was very helpful and cheerful.
The site was clean and extremely well looked after with good facilities.
The site is close to Rother Valley Country Park which is a big bonus.

This site is easy to book online and provides some level of camping or caravanning for every age group.
Access is by a barrier which should be ANPR but at present you need to key in the code sent in booking confirmation.
Staff are efficient and polite and helpful in the reception/cafe/shop. Facilities are fabulous and clean and spacious.
The site is undulating and on top of a hill but each caravan pitch is practically level due to careful landscaping. Hard standing is white limestone gravel on top of coal slag. Variety of pitches to suit all.
The pitches are a good size and well spaced and some have spectacular views over Rother Valley or all the way west to Pennines.
Access to country park is easy by car but one has to pay car parking, or by foot down a gentle sloping track at rear (north side) of site or by mountain bike more or less straight down hillside.
Access to local area and motorways by road is easy and makes this either an ideal place to stay to relax or as a stopover when going up or down or across the UK.

This was our second trip to Waleswood (earlier review in October 2020) where this time we spent 5 nights over the Easter weekend.
We were only able to book a standard pitch which was adequate in size but would have been very hard to reverse onto without a motor mover, indeed we had to help the people on the pitch next door push their van as they couldn't reverse on due to the narrow width of the access road.
The facilities continue to be superb and are kept very clean. Waleswood remains one of our favourite sites.

Stayed this Easter week at Waleswood, been a couple times before and really love the site.
Pitches are large and well placed and level. Good dog walk and easy access to Rother Valley Park.
Cafe, Bar area clean and well use, good IPA on tap at reasonably price. Kids park, but over 10s struggle.
Toilet blocks spotless and good showers family bathrooms and disables facilities.
Went to Rother Valley Country Park, and once again on a visit, loads that could be open was closed, and nothing to do with the site itself.
Went to Clifton Park Rotherham, and wow what a great ime, and good prices, a credit to the people of Rotherham.
Overall a great week and we will return again.
Thanks
