We stayed on this site over the easter holidays for 3 nights so it was busy. Upon arrival we were given a barrier card for 10 pound deposit. My wife handed it to the warden who kindly operated the barrier with it to allow us to enter. Then he jumped on his bike and said follow me which we did to the pitch, but he didn't give us the card back. We later mentioned this to the lady in reception but she wasn't very helpful. We were told we would have to pay another 10 pound if we wanted another card which we refused to do.
Anyway onto the site, the pitch we were given was fairly small but ok as we weren't planning to put the awning up. There is a shop just outside the camp-site gates which is handy and well stocked.
The toilet and shower block is dated but on every occasion that myself, my wife, or son used it it was dirty. The hand dryer never worked and some of the lighting wasn't working which made it difficult to see. I went in late one night and one of the cubicles was disgusting and dirty, the next morning at 9am it still hadn't been cleaned.
You need to be able to lift your waste water up to toilet height to empty it into the elsan point, I am very fit but I must admit I found this quite a task. I have been on loads of sites all over Britain and have never had to do this before.
The site is about a 10 minute walk to the seafront passing on the way the usual shops, bars, takeaways etc. There is a playground for children but can't comment on it as I didn't use it.
There is also a fishing lake which looked ok. We are planning to return to the area in the summer but won't be going back to this site.

We went to the site in July, smashing site. In the showers there is only 3 gents and 3 ladies. not enough if you go in the last shower you will get very little water and cold. Some of the staff are great but one was unhelpful but other than that a very good site and clean. Plenty to do all around. Very good fish and chip shop close by
All in all very nice will go again

We booked two pitches as family was joining us in their tent and when booking requested that these pitches should be next to one another, which we got, but only to be told both our cars needed to be in between the tents, so we moved our cars and tents so it ended up we weren't that close in the end.
Site wardens ride around on push bikes
The toilet block was old and not kept very clean, upon entering it you are greeted by numerous do's and don't's signs.
As for the actual site it is kept nice and clean but once again its plastered with signs asking you not to do things. The site has a strictly no ball games.
Its 30p for a shower, tokens from the reception and 20p to wash your pots up. This isnt the cheapest of sites I've stayed on so was surprised by these extra costs.
Watch out for the thousands of wasps that annoy you all day every day. The site must be plagued with wasp nests.
We won't be returning this is by far one of the worse sites we have stayed on

We stayed at this site during June, and we found it to be well located in Ingoldmells not far from the beach or Fantasy Island. In contrast to the last reviewer, I found the pitches to be quite well spaced, I would guess that it may be busier during a bank holiday but most places we have been to are during those times.
The toilet block was slightly dated but cleaned twice a day from what I saw, the showers were warm which is more than can be said with some places we have stayed.
Overall we had a good stay and will be returning soon.

I have stayed at this camp site twice now & we had a really good stay both time. & will return whenever we are going to ingoldmells.
The loos & showers was very clean. 30p for a good 10 mins shower
The piches are flat & the site is tidy & the staff are very helpful & friendly
They is a play area for the kids but we did not use it much due to my baby only been 9 months
A short walk to cafes & they is a shop across the road which has a cash point & the best bonus was that it was free cash. They is a bus stop right outside the gate for bus to fantasy island cost just 60p

We stayed at the site for a full week. The campsite was fairly empty when we arrived. We were greeted by a pleasant lady on reception who personally showed us to our allocated pitch. The pitch was a good size and flat, just what you need when camping. We set up our camp with no problems.
We paid £21 per night for a large tent pitch with electric. Certainly not the cheapest site in the area but also not the most expensive. The site was very clean, the toilets although dated fairly clean. They also have a mirrored section with sockets for hair drying etc. So far so good.
Having driven a long way we wanted a shower and a freshen up. All 3 of us went for a shower. 30p each wasn't too bad. Some sites do still charge for showers. So this was 90p extra a day. Camping fees just went up to £21. 90 per night.
Having had our showers and now feeling fresh we went out and picked up a take away. Came back and ate. Then the washing up. Over we went to the pot wash area. Always quiet, nice and clean. No one used the only washing up sink because you then had to pay 20p for hot washing up water! £21 a night and paying for washing up water. We usually wash up 3 times a day so that's another 60p per night. The price is now £22. 50 a night
After the initial shock of the extra charges the week was going well. Toilets clean, site clean etc. Then the site started to fill up for the weekend. Kids school holidays started. Over the week the toilets got dirtier and dirtier.
The sinks were filthy by the time we were leaving. Think the cleaners idea of cleaning was picking the loose leaf toilet paper up off the floor. The site bins were emptied every day, even when the site was empty. Only fault with bin collection was that they got emptied before 10am. Departures had to be off by 10am so the people leaving tended to fill the bins before leaving.
10-am departure seemed a bit early for a tent to be able to pack up and depart. However we were a little late leaving (10. 30am). We apologised and the lady was fine with it.
The surrounding area was great. Plenty to do within walking distance.
No shop on site but a spar literally over the road.
Bus would stop at the entrance if you put your arm out (reception told us although we didn't use it).
Hardys animal farm next door is excellent and well worth a visit. Worth taking a picnic although the food in the cafe was nice and reasonable. They have an indoor adventure area. Socks must be worn.
All in all a really nice holiday but hidden costs make it the same price as nicer parks like the Skegness Water Park (£22. 50 a night with free showers and free washing up water)

On arrival this site looks very pleasant, flat and spacious, but the moment you start to queue for reception you start to notice inadequacies. Firstly, get more than 2 queuing and the third is on the road. There also seems to be an abundance of signs. Don't do this, must do that and the other is strictly forbidden. On arrival a flustered receptionist took our balance gave us a receipt that was added up wrong and we were sited. Usual malarky, get your jokey wheel on the slab or the world will end. I was amazed when the chap took it upon himself to loosen my jokey wheel. Very rude I thought.
However as the site started to fill up it there were vast open spaces where no one ventured yet my awning, that cost a hefty £5 a night seemed to be in the sites equivalent of the M6. Other vans were crammed so close together that it looked more like storage than a holiday site.
So far I was not impressed but tend to knuckle down and enjoy it. So off to the shower block. Only one fluorescent light was working which made it very dark even during the day. We joked that it was so people wouldn't see the grime. Oh. The showers. Mucky showers for 30 pence a go. I thought that game had disappeared in the 70's. I wouldn't have minded paying for it if they'd been top notch but they weren't. A sign stated the toilets were closed from 11am till noon daily for cleaning. I never saw a cleaner! One toilet was very badly soiled and remained untouched for 2 of the three days we were there. Take you own toilet roll at all times. The only people that seemed to like the toilets were kids. Mixed sex kids using them as a play ground at all hours, despite the sign! There were other extras also. 20p for using the washing up sinks, 20p for a hair dryer, just seems wrong in this day and age. The staff seemed more stressed than friendly. And when we asked if we could pay extra to stay later than the 10am kick out time a sign was pointed to and we were told in no uncertain terms that was not possible as they were FULL all week. Doubtful as we later phoned up and asked if we could book a couple of nights later in the week and was told it would be no problem! As for the rubbish. No skips with lids, just park style bins with black bags inside. These were full by Saturday morning and people just dumped their rotting rubbish next to them. The bins were not emptied the whole of the time we stayed.
I have to say I didn't like the place. Which is a shame because it could be a lovely site and off season probably is. But like so many places they can't cope when full, even for a few days over bank holiday.
On the plus side, a Spar shop directly opposite is handy and a Londis 200 yards down the road. Within half a mile Bars, eateries and the beach, and of course Fantasy Island and market a mile up the road!

We visited this site with our tourer as a trial run and found this site to be very clean and staff very helpful showers and toilets were very clean too. Park was nice for the kids. We did find it a bit of a trek back though when visiting fantasy island and up the other end of town but there were buses back to it. Would recommend this site to family and friends. The grass was very well kept with the site maintenance guy coming on as soon as you were packed up to go very good keeping.

We have been to Country Meadows once before and we enjoyed. We made a decision to return here on 3rd Aug 10 for 3 nights to complete our weeks holiday, which had started at Watermouth in Devon, where we had booked 7 nights. We didn't like that particular site.
Country Meadows is a fabulous site, well run, clean, looked after. It was very full. Lots of families. We are retired, but we loved it. It was quiet, even with families everywhere. Loads to do, places to go, all within easy walking distance, or ability to catch a bus right outside the park. Lots of walks. Lots of fun. Lots of entertainment. Highly recommended by two oldens.
