Early in the season so very cold at night. We had a non-electric pitch.

The field we were in wasn't packed, about 5 tents, but I guess could be different in peak season? Grass was a bit too long.

Toilets, showers were clean and maintained. Bit of a walk if in a non-electric pitch though. Entertainment was good but was more aimed at people staying in the static caravans.

Would not recommend eating in the on site pub as expensive and potion sizes are rather small to be polite.

Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Would stay here again.

We booked as a last minute weekend away after seeing weather report for end of Sept beginning Oct, arrived at 7pm Friday evening for 2 nights.

Reception gave us direction to our site, they draw a map which indicated we cross a small bridge across rough ground and around the back of main site. I guess she didn't know the site very well, as she sent us wrong place.

We were sited on picth number 31, this is not a great pitch, it is beside a small stream, lots of flying bugs, the ground did not get dry all day, and no sun on pitch to enjoy.

Showers - A bit run down. But fair, however very dirty. Worries me how other camper would ever consider leaving in that state. The showers are in the midst of static caravans and not really near touring pitch ( I believe it used to be on touring area, however they decided to add more statics)

Water - Drinking water from various places, however you have to keep a button pushed in. Arms will ache after filling a barrel. Also strange shape taps meant we could fit hose on!

Elsan waste was near showers, therefore log walk carrying the thetford cassette.

Washing up facilities - For tent campers who were in furthest field away they had to walk miles to the showers to use washing up facilities.

Entertainment - Usual holiday camp entertainment, our teenage daughter and friend went, we stay in van for piece and quiet.

Swimming pools - Nice outdoor pool, however when closed the indoor pool can get overcrowded. These are called 'Fun Pools' however they are both standard rectangle pools, no slides etc, outside pool has a fountain. There is a jacuzzi that lacks bubbles too.

Site - Generally very clean and tidy, sited next to beach, holiday be warned due to erosion further up coast dumping sand and pebbles here the beach is massive and a long walk to sea. But really nice beach when you get there.

We stayed at Haven the weekend before (Orchards, Essexs) at £8 per night and here at Kessingland at £13 per night, the Haven wins hands down.

We have been to Park Resorts sites before, and know that the pitches can be a bit cramped, but were going there so that the children could have loads of swimming, and enjoy the entertainment and Sparky's Krew Club.

We were really lucky with the pitch, No. 15, as it was normally a Seasonal pitch but had just been vacated. We were able to go side on to the hedge and there was no other tent or caravan within 20 foot of us. Martin the warden was really friendly and always cheerful, even under pressure. Some of the other pitches we saw were Very close together and were probably illegal in terms of fire safety.

The toilet block was a bit of a hike from the touring pitch, situated up with the static caravans, and the gents stunk of urine even when the teenage cleaner had just cleaned it. One of the showers was out of order the whole week and the other 2 were very tired looking.

However, the kids entertainment was brilliant and that is why we were there. All of the Krew club staff were great, and remembered the kids names. Our 3 had a really great time, plus they enjoyed the swimming pool which we went in every afternoon for a couple of hours (but there is no shallow end which did makes things a little difficult with our toddler) but the 'Big Ball in the Water' which you pay for my 5 and 7 year olds thoroughly enjoyed.

Africa Alive is just down the road, but we did not go this time.

Overall, we had a good week because the kids were happy, but next time I think we will stay at the lovely-looking (and cheaper) Caravan Club site next door, and then pay £16 odd for family day tickets to use the Park Resort facilities.

We visited this site after booking it through a Daily Mail holiday offer. After reading the past reviews I wasn't expecting much but I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised.

We stayed in a privately owned caravan which was clean and well-maintained, although we did have a few problems with the shower.

The park itself was not bad at all. The amusements were good, the entertainment room was always packed and although we didn't go in there much other people looked like they were enjoying themselves. The park also had two children's playgrounds and tennis courts as well. The swimming pool was not a bad size- we went in both the indoor and the outdoor. My only complaint is that the swimming pool could be open longer.

As for local attractions Africa Alive zoo is only just down the road- we had a great time there. We also visited southwold pier which had some great homemade slot machines that made everyone laugh! If you don't mind travelling to get to attractions then Bewilderwood is great if you have children. It might be a while away but it's definitely worth it, as it has zip wires, slides, den building and boat trips. A great day out.

Overall this site is maybe not the best, but by no means is it the worst.

Overall a good site, although I thought the shower blocks were very dated and could do with a revamp. The swimming pool was quite cold and again the changing area was dated and not very well organised, no cubicles to change in so you had to bear all and the showers were also open as well so no privacy. We didn't go in the showbar but went to the little pub which was really nice. We camped in the non electric hook up field, plenty of room so we were able to spread out, it was very quiet and it was good to see security coming round regularly.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday, staying at this site. Reading previous reviews we were a little worried, but no need. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the toilets, showers etc were cleaned three times a day, and had plenty of hot water. We had three thunderstorms over our 17 day stay and there were no puddles in our camping field except on the road! The facilities were very good, catering for everyone. The only down side would be for people with children as there is no sand on the beach, only pebbles. There are some lovely places nearby, eg Southwold and Oulton Broad. We will definitely be visiting again.

We camped here with friends the end of June. All I can say is make sure your not on pitches 33/4/5/6, these should NOT be pitches. We were put under trees that we could only just get our tent under, the pitch size was very small and we were right next to an open field with just a few trees which means it was very windy and cold. The walk to the only toilet and shower block is huge. If camping with small children it makes it near on impossible. The trees meant we were nearly always in the shade and our friends on pitch 35 came with their brand new never been camped in canvas tent that was nearly ruined due to the amount of bird poo on it. Don't get me wrong I expect a certain amount of that sort of thing and have camped under trees before - it can be quite nice, but this was ridiculous. We are talking 50-60 bird poops in 3 days. Also it is used as a cut through to the club house, which the staff tell to all the pitches, and was incredible noisy at 1am with shouting and verbal abuse.

The fish and chip shop on site is expensive, the chips were nasty

The showers are cleaned right when you need to use them to clean up the children before bed between 7-8pm, one person does this and there is no other block to go as their is only one, which is located with all the static caravans!

The swimming pool is nice but there is no shallow end so if like me you have children too old for arm bands but not quite the confidence in water it is not good. The outside pool is has you would expect freezing.

I'm sure this is a nice site if your in a static caravan but the tents are just an after thought. You are crammed in in small pitches, for the modern tents they are just not big enough and the shower block is placed as far away as possible.

We have just been to Kesslingland Beach Resort, I found the surrounding area lovely and the walk on the beach was great. But that is the end on the good news. They crammed the vans on very close. Some of the staff are friendly but some are very abrupt. The toilets were dirty and there was poo on walls which was there for our entire stay, showers not much better. We also backed onto the 'dump area' which was a bit like a breakers yard, very noisy.

We have recently visited this campsite. The weather could have been better but we had a nice welcome to the site after the long journey. The pitch we got was on a nice and level beside the small pond, where the ducks and ducklings are very use to people and were inches from our hands.

We didn't use any of the resort facilities so can not report on the pool, but the children's play area appeared ample.

The toilet facilities are a bit tired and in need of renovation as the tiles in the shower cubicles were dirty and colour schemes. I have been to other Park Resorts and these facilities did not compare favourably to them. I would personally not recommend this site, which is a pity as it is in a good location.

Just returned from Kessingland Beach for the Easter weekend having travelled on Friday with very low expectations having read the reviews on here.

Yes the tourers were a bit dis-organised but we had a decent pitch other than that I have to say me and my young family had a fantastic time.

It strikes me that several of the previously posted reviews are based on the weather on the dates that they visited, so in the same way they blame water on the grass on Kessingland Beach I should like to congratulate them on some fantastic sea side sunshine this.

I think you get what you pay for and we didn't pay a lot the kids wanted to know when they could come back and see Sparky, Sparkles and Narky!
