A nice quiet site in a great location. Other people have mentioned the arch on the road on the way however there is more room than you first think. The site is well signed and easy to find. It is the location of this site that really makes it stand out as it's in the Bolton Abbey estate. Good walks from the site and lots to do in the surrounding area.
The usual great welcome and clean facilities that you always expect from the CC. The pitches are well laid out and not cramped together.
The only thing that could improve this site for us is a children's' play area however I understand that many like this site exactly because there isn't one!

Fantastic site, stunning location, a tricky archway to get through on the approach, but no problem if you take your time. We booked here to avoid Halloween at home as door knockers really spook the dogs. Our research led us to believe that there is nothing for kids to do, and that scooters, bikes and skateboards are prohibited, so we expected a quiet stay, but were totally wrong. A lot of kids were there, and parents had brought not only the prohibited items, but also a very loud remote control car. They really were completely loud and out of control, and we had to have words with three lads from the same motor-home who were chasing and kicking out at ducks from their scooters, we stayed for 3 nights of noise (30 and 31 Oct being the worst) and never witnessed any warden intervention which we found poor. The site is also under the Leeds flightpath, and planes can be heard from early in the morning. The dog-walk on site is the poorest we have experienced, as it is very short, and dogs must be on a lead. There is no signal to/from any mobile network. I cannot comment on Sat TV, but you need a cable from reception (£15. 00) to access 12 boosted analogue TV channels. Word of advice, if you want peace and quiet don't go in school holidays! Negatives aside, the site is superb. Smack in the grounds of Bolton Abbey, it if beautiful, and the views, walks and history are as good as it gets! The site is up to the usual CC site high standards, and supermarkets are in Skipton a short drive away. If you just want minor provisions there is a nice Co-op, shops and pubs at Addingham a few miles on the opposite side of the access roundabout on the A59. Fantastic site, we will be back whilst kids are at school. Without the noise, this would nearly be perfect, but with three dogs the dog-walk really lets it down.

Have tried for over a year to book a summer- long weekend on this site, always fully booked. Managed to get 2 nights at long last, none awning. As the awning pitches were full, according to web site. However I noted several empty awning / none awning pitches over the weekend due to very late cancellations or no shows probably due to forecast of a little rain ( we had one brief heavy shower ) selfish people book every weekend weather they intend to use the bookings or not. The wardens must be sick and tired of them. Caravan club it's time you sorted it.
Gripe over. Back to review. Lovely peaceful, well maintained site, plenty of wild life. Facility's spotless.
Lovely walk down to Bolton Abbey, . Or jump into car and go further afield, lots to see in area. Good information hut on site. Site shop sells bread, milk, sweets ect along with awning pegs and booster cables. No problem with our TV. Lots of ducks wandering about site along with squirrels to keep you amused.
Nice site for a relaxing break. If you can book. In future I will contact site direct not go through the web site booking service.

This has to be one of the stars of the CC sites - lovely quiet site with lots of trees but still able to sit in the sun and enjoy the tranquillity. Watched woodpeckers on the bird feeders along with squirrels and a range of other birds right outside the van.
The facilities are spotless with large pitches even if you do not go for one with for an awning and the wardens are a lovely couple. - ready to help and sort any problem. The site had only just been upgraded to the new WiFi system and this was excellent. Glad to see the CClub recognises that us oldies like our iPads! Probably not as child friendly as some as there are no green spaces for ball games etc.
There are walks right from the site - through Strid Wood to Bolton Abbey is a particularly great-walk and the site is not far from other Dales towns for trips out - Grassington, Skipton, Ilkley and Settle.
BUT I Would avoid during Tour de France in Yorkshire this year in Early July as it passes close by and I can see it being very busy in this area!

Back from another great visit to this set. Very friendly welcome form Wardens and all facilities spotless. Great walk down to the river and also good luck around the old abbey. Kids loved walks across the stepping stones and watching Pete fall in!
Adding ham nice quiet visit and a Couple of good pubs to visit for a drink and meal if you like.
Didn't really do much apart for relax and this site is ideal for that.
Will definitely be returning to this small but wonderful site.
No children's play area but our two soon made friends and good site for playing.

We have visited this site many times, and always enjoy our time here. The location is lovely, great walks directly from the site, and lots to see and do in the vicinity. The last time we went, our visit was somewhat marred by the constant noise of the leaf blower, and I had quite forgotten about this until yet again the 2 stroke petrol blower started operations. Each and every day we were subjected to this. Quite why on a peaceful Sunday afternoon it was considered essential to blow leaves I really do not know. What was apparent is that there were in fact rather more pressing maintenance jobs that needed doing. The wooden lids on the water standpipes had in many cases rotted away, leaving the taps as ideal perching points for birds. We actually saw one drinking water from a tap!
This is a dark site, so a torch is essential after dusk. The edge of the kerb along the front of the toilet/laundry block was at one time painted white as an aid to prevent tripping. This has worn away and needs repainting.
Showers and toilets were spotless.
The other aspect I would like to mention is that the information for this site quite specifically say arrivals after 1 pm. A rule that it would seem is not adhered to, as is the 5mph speed limit. Regrettably, not only did the warden do nothing to enforce this rule, but he too bombed round the site on his little tractor at well in excess of the limit.
I would also hope that the people in the transit van belonging to a caravan company who decided that 6. 30 am on Sunday morning was when they wanted to get ready to leave, and leave they did before 7am, (no doubt walking the majority of other visitors in the process) have received a letter from the CC, but somehow I doubt it!
Whilst we were on our way, we received a telephone call from the warden asking what time we were going to arrive, as she wanted to go out shopping! I appreciate that the site was practically empty, (six units) but it did take us by surprise given that it was only 2pm. We would go again, but a word of warning for anyone planning to use this site, recent changes mean that not all pitches now allow awnings, so this is something to consider when booking.
It is also essential to have a television still capable of receiving an analogue signal, as though tv signals to the area have been digitised, apparently there was a problem and the signal is distributed to the booster boxes via an analogue signal. It is possible to set up a sat. Receiver on a few pitches.
Ilkley is some ten minutes from the site, and has an excellent range of shops including Booths and Tesco supermarkets and a new Morrisons local. There is a first rate butcher Lishmans, who also produce an excellent range of their own pies and meals ready to pop into an oven.
Of course there is also a branch of the famous Betty's tea room, well worth a visit.
Can thoroughly recommend The Tempest at Elslack for meals. Excellent quality at very reasonable prices, but be warned! Go hungry as the portions are large

What a lovely secluded site. Small and intimate. The showers and toilets were as usual with caravan club sites, spotless. Just one little thing to look out for is the very narrow archway that you have to pass through. It is not a problem to negotiate but we had a problem with a Chelsea tractor who was determined to get to the arch before me. The result was that he[ and his pal behind] had to completely embarrass themselves in front of a queue of cars waiting to go through by attempting a manoeuvre that a mini would find difficult. Half a mile down the road is a lovely hotel/restaurant. A tad expensive but lovely food. When I saw the helipad in front of the main door it should have rang bells. Within easy reach of plenty of places, but disappointed with Skipton, its got many empty shops, and the street market was not as good as we thought. Ilkley is a different kettle of fish. Excellent shopping and more Bentleys in one carpark than the factory has. All in all a good site for the Yorkshire moors.

Once you negotiate the stone archway* a couple miles before site you will find a good CC site in a magnificent location - lovely wheelchair friendly woodland walks down to River Wharfe - featuring 'the Strid' for those with log legs! Site itself a good standard - but coax cable required for TV addicts. Sun-worshippers check carefully where tree shading covers the pitches! (they let us move across road on day two!)
Very quiet - just a limited opening cafe just outside site on Strid car park. Btw - did you know the average mature tree before cutting down is worth. £5 !
Bus service outside site to Skipton - a good value scenic journey for us and the dog!
(* Archway was a bite hairy for us - height and width rather close to the dimensions of our (brand-new) van. But site directions didn't say how 'rounded' the archway top corners were!)

Negotiating the the narrow lanes and arch getting to this site is well worth it. You can see why it is so popular with the peaceful and tranquil setting. The area is just beautiful.
The site itself is what you come to expect of the Caravan Club, well kept, tidy, shower blocks clean and warm with plenty of hot water. It is quite interesting being out of phone range for the weekend!
If you like walking you can walk for miles straight from the site or there is plenty to do if you want to drive further afield. A weekend doesn't seem long enough to fit everything in therefore we will definitely be back.

Nice site, typical CC site, well set out, quite regimented. We were met with a warm welcome, the warden was very friendly and helpful.
The pitches are quite close together but not a bad size, all hardstandings, however more grass would have been nice.
The site is very peaceful and well located, walks straight from the site through the woods to Bolton Abbey.
We didn't actually use any of the facilities but judging by how the rest of the site was maintained then I'm sure they will be good.
All in all a lovely site and worth a visit.
