Stayed here about four times now and we love it. There is always something going on for the children, they have a great kids club, the show bars are good at night and you can even have a couple of games of bingo too if you wish. There is three show bars in total and all are good. There is a on site restaurant and bar. A pizza take away and also a burger king and fish and chip shop. A supermarket with most things if you run out of stuff, and it's own starbucks coffee house too. There is a outdoor adventure play area for the kids and a park, a small fairground, go carting, little motor boats on the lake and also fishing. Buses come on site every day which go to Scarborough and Filey, the train station in Filey isn't far away and was about £5 to the campsite. The beach is on your doorstep and a little train will take you down there too. Will always come back to this site as we all enjoy it. If you fancy going to explore York isn't that far and Whitby and heartbeat country too. In reception you can pick up lots of leaflets for days out and money saving vouchers for Flamingoland which is about a hour run from there.

Primrose Valley is a big park. It has lots of facilities which you would expect from a Haven park. The spaces were adequate and there was a security barrier. It had the usual facilities, such as pools, entertainment, Burger King, supermarket, etc. The children enjoyed the play area and the swimming pool, however due to the size of the site the entertainment hall was so packed out, we did not bother. We picked this park because you could walk to the beach from the site, which we did on many occasions, as we picked a perfect weather week. This holiday is okay if you want an all action, all singing and dancing park.

The touring area is well signposted from the main entrance and is just to the left as you drive in. There is a good pull in area in front of the touring office. Check in is quick and efficient, the warden on site during our stay was cheerful and informative. There is a security barrier which requires a code when entering the touring area.
Pitches are allocated. Our pitch was at the bottom end of the touring area which was of good size due to the curvature of the road/touring pitches. This was an electric pitch with water hook up and drainage.
On booking we were told that we needed our waste hog and pup tents and annexes were not allowed however this was not the case at all which caused some inconvenience to us and to our relatives who were also staying on this site in their own touring van. Note to Haven management – make sure your booking team are fully trained on the services, rules etc on each of your touring sites as this is not the first time this has happened.
Tourers shouldn’t be an afterthought (but often are)! The pitch was concrete base and slightly sloping so advise taking levelling blocks. The awning area was basically mud which wasn’t great; however the area surrounding the pitch was thick mowed grass. The parking wasn’t the best as it is located in front of the pitch, we had problems as our neighbours had two cars and often parked in our space leaving it very tight for us to park, you don’t need that sort of hassle on holiday.
Also kids where running out between parked cars and onto the road which is an accident waiting to happen. Ball games are also allowed so eventually someone’s outfit will suffer some damage. The TV reception is very poor unless you have the high tech Ariel/satellite system, we personally did not have many problems but our relatives couldn’t get any channels other than terrestrial channels which were of poor picture quality.
The shower block is accessible by entering a code however the ladies were broken so anyone could gain access. There is a sink area outside for washing dishes but it was small, the drainage from the sinks runs into the shower block drainage which wasn’t pleasant as one evening the shower block smelled of rotten fish.
The cleanliness was poor, the toilets were not too bad but the showers were awful, there is a wooden decking area which has hair and tissue trapped underneath it, the shower curtains smelled (and looked) rotten, there was nothing more than a hook to hang your clothes on, and the water was scalding hot with no means of adjusting it.
In the gents there were no lighting working above the basins, and out of 5 showers only one had a light bulb that worked. The lighting was also on a sensor so halfway through showering the light would switch off and you had to fumble in the dark and walk up to the entrance door to activate the sensor again. We notified the warden of the light bulb situation at the beginning of our week stay but this was still the same when we left.
To be honest unclean and neglected shower and toilet facilities really do have a negative impact and I personally dreaded having to use the shower block each day, they really do need to be cleaned and maintained daily, and at regular intervals throughout the day.
Behind the touring area is a funfair, swimming pools, cafe bar and boating lake however the touring area remained peaceful with little noise. The main complex is about a 10-15 minute walk from the touring area; here you will find the usual Papa John’s, Burger King, Fun works, show bar, chip shop, Mash & Barrel, and Shop.
There is parking outside so you can drive if you need to. You will need to have your entertainment passes with you at all times as there is always a member of security checking them.
The Mash & Barrel was nice, clean and of good size however the meals were average and overpriced, we had to send 2 meals back as they were cold and the packet mash (yes really) had not been mixed properly and was full of powdered lumps, however these were micro waved quickly and returned to us (but still powdered lumps in the mash, we gave up!).
The staff on site were friendly enough. We would return to this park if the shower facilities were maintained at a higher standard as this really was our main gripe and other than that the park is pleasant, well kept and has plenty to do for kids and adults alike.

Touring Area Review - Check in from 12noon, vacate by 11am. All hardstanding, with grass next to all pitches for awning. Water tap and EHU point shared between two caravans, so no walking far for water! Drainage point to each pitch. Parking is in front of the pitch, space for two cars.
Bins and recycling bins.
Toilets - not the cleanest I've ever seen but usable. They are okay, has a keypad code on them but the ladies was broken for the week we were there. Family bathroom (bath) was grubby but just about usable for a quick bath for our toddler, but got her changed and dressed in the caravan!
Showers were always hot, push button. Free hairdryers. Baby change unit to ladies toilets.
Site - Touring area is about 10-15minute walk away from the caravan 9at adult walking pace, we used the pushchair for our two and a half year old as would have been too far for her to walk. A lovely flat walk though.
Touring area is near a little fair, one of the two pools and the fishing and boating lake which was lovely to walk around and feed the ducks and geese. Loads of open space near the lake for picnics. Park for the children about 5-10 min walk away.
Complex centre - arcades, pool, showbar (get there early if you have little children and want to be near the front!), burger king, starbucks, restaurant, coffee bar, SPAR shop.
Beach is about 15 min from the complex so allow 30 min at least from the touring area. Nice beach once you are over the pebbles at the bottom of the hill!
Filey is a lovely place to visit. Playdale Farm was a nice day out, about 15min drive away.
We would go back because our little girl loved it but we would never go at peak times!
(we paid £69 for 7 nights so cant complain at that)

Stopped here for a week in between the bank holiday weekend so hoped it wouldn't be too packed while the schools were still in term.
Site has about 45 pitches, all super pitches, hardstanding etc.
Touring site is about 15 minute walk from main complex, a bit dark approaching the site at night due to the lack of lamps. Shower block was brand new about 4 or 5 years ago, That was my first visit. They have declined since then, locks broken from toilets, seats not on toilets, not very clean.
I would go back outside of school holidays but during the holidays the complex is far too small to catering for the amount of people staying on site.

I visited this site for a long weekend September 2009.
The warden is a very industrious guy, very helpful and keeps the site in good order. We noticed his speed in checking pitches once they were vacated, thus you always get a nice pitch on arrival.
Generally the touring area is well ordered and is a caravan site rather than a camp site, ie. Rows of caravans/tourers. All serviced pitches which is good. Generally flattish so good for the awning. Shrubs separate the rows and the shubs are well kept.
Toilet / Shower block is to a very good standard and clean. Extractor fans keep it fresh. Hairdriers if you need.
Other notes for the tourers area is a good secure barrier with code. Some loud music noise during the day from the funfair but this is easily masked by your own music if necessary. This stopped at 1700hrs. Near to main road but this did not cause me any concern.
The MAIN SITE COMPLEX ; Again generally well kept. I did not visit the complex next to the touring area as the pool was closed for cleaning. The larger complex is a long walk (10 minutes) so a bike would be an advantage. A good pool area with slides etc. No queues when I was there on a Sat & Sun morning. Generally the clubhouse and bars were like all Haven sites to a good standard, well fitted out and good entertainment but undersized and do not enough bar staff. The bar / resturant was good and reasonably priced offering bar meals and a selection of children's dishes. Outside seating available. Site shop was good with a good selection of essential items, again like all Haven sites.
Many activities to do as advertised on the Haven web site. We enjoyed mini golf near to the touring area and junior go-karts.
All in all a good site to visit in September. I'm unsure if the facilities would be sufficient for the July / August peak?
My children enjoyed the weekend and were very happy during their time at the park.

Had two weeks here and the weather was good but pitched the awning on bare mud. Would be a good idea to have gravel for the awning area bearing in mind the pitches are serviced with drains and water (which was nice). Pitches were on the small side with no real room for the kids to play near the van. Previous comments about parking on the roadway, well I hated it as this created a single track road effect down the middle with cars parked nose to tail on both sides. Saw a couple of close misses with kids coming out from behind parked cars.
Due to the lack of playing space some kids resorted to weaving in and out of the parked cars and roadway resulting in minor damage to our outfit!
The main facilities were 3/4 of a mile from our pitch started walking on week one but ended up using the car by week 2 as the 3 year was finding it tuff 2-3 times a day.
We sat out a few evenings and can only describe it as like sitting in the central reservation of the M25, the traffic noise is bad. I do not know if this was made worse by a westerly wind for all our stay but it even disturbed you in the van.
Toilets and showers were ok, not the cleanest by any stretch but water was always hot.
Facilities are good with brilliant swimming pools and a beach close by. The shop is well stocked and the restaurant on site is ok.
Lovely area but will we go again- NO

Stayed with friends on this site, but shan't go back. Found the pitches too close together and too near the main road. We were a long walk from the entertainment and the family bar we went in to was crowded, took us ages to get served, it wasn't at all clean and they seemed ridiculously short staffed and what staff were there didn't seem to have a clue!
One night we were woken by some noisy holiday makers, tried to get in touch with someone on the numbers given to us on check in but couldn't no reply or just answer phone what do you do in an emergency?
Next day, when we were leaving, I complained to a member of management and he was extremely rude, offered no explanation for us not being able to contact anyone and didn't seem a bit interested.
We have stayed on several other Haven sites and had good holidays but this one was awful.

This was not my 1st visit to this haven site but was the first time staying in the touring area,
We arrived on a very windy Friday afternoon and pulled into the touring section which is located to the entrance of the park. Checking in I was met by the park warden a very nice man who gave me my welcome pack and showed me to our pitch.
The site is very well set out and all the pitches are super hard standing so you have water and drainage to your hardstanding pitch. Also we found a very nice touch is your own car parking space in front of your van on the road which help make the pitch more private.
The toilets here are amazing I think they are the best I have visited by far. The staff were all friendly and I am already book 2 more visits here this year
Highly recommended and a must with young children.

We stayed for 6 night’s over the Easter holidays and enjoyed it all, even though most days it was very misty. We paid £126 for our stay which was a bargain for Easter.
On arrival we spoke to the touring warden, a very nice man and very helpful. He offered us a choice of pitches, we chose number 5 reasons were very large hard standing and grassed area big enough to accommodate our 28ft van and awning and an empty pitch next to it for our friend’s who we arriving later. Fully serviced pitch with water, electric and drain. I did like the idea of having your own parking space at the front of your pitch. Shower block immaculate and under floor heating in the family bathroom. We only went into the club one night but had a great time doing a quiz and the entertainment was great. Drinks the usual Haven prices, pizza from Pappa John’s was very good. With starbucks a burger king a chip shop and pizza shop plenty of choice if you want to eat out or grab a cofee. The shop was well stocked if a little over priced. Kid’s loved the pools and used them every day as well as the all weather sports court. Kid’s and adult’s loved the lazer blast they got a great discount as there were 8 of them. Will return later in the year.
