We have tried our hardest to get onto this site and in the mean time we tried Reighton Sands and Blue Dolphin.
We finally managed to get booked onto Primrose Valley after several attempts but luckilly it was the beginning of the season.
Because it is so hard to get onto we had big expectations of it.
There is only 50 touring pitches which is located right at the front of the site which backs onto the main road (A164), which is a very busy road and also can be noisey during the night.
The pitches are well spaced apart and most people had awanings up and there was still plenty of room between the caravans. Also all the pitches are super pitches which include the electric, water tap and waste drain.
There is a electronic barrier which you are given a code to.
The toilet/shower block is immaculate, plenty of showers and toilets and there is also use of free hairdryers.
Plenty of bins to put your rubbish and also recylcing bins for the recycling conscious.
Just behind the toilet/shower block there is a funfair which has a go cart track, big slide etc. The swimming pool is behind the shower/toilet block which also has a bar inside. And next to this is a lake which has pedal, motor and bumper boats and you can also hire bikes at the same shed.
One thing that I was disappointed with was that the main club house area was approximately a 15 minute walk but we did find out the next day we could've knocked 5 minutes off this if we had known about a cut through.
Some of the things were not up and running because they were'nt finished ie a Starbucks which was still been shopfitted. And also sky was not working either which we were sad about because we wanted to watch rugby both nights we were there.
Food prices were high in the shops and restaurants.
If you take a tv with you just be warned that the reception isn't very good in this area.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great touring site, very well maintained, great toilet block, great staff. Very busy large site lots of kids everywhere all the time, not good for a quiet break, but great for kids. Would visit again.
The local area is good lots to see and do, Filey and scarborough lovely towns with nice beaches and good restaurants. This site is the best of the three haven sites in the area.

This was our annual (Adult weekend- no kids, relaxing time!) We always go for Haven sites now due to bad experiences with Park Resorts (stuck in the 70's!) This is billed as Haven's flagship site & you can see why. They have spent millions on it recently & the facilities look great. Its a huge site but as end of season not too crowded. The normal bar is very tastefully done, all retro! The bar staff were friendly & efficient in there. As for the showbar, thats another story. Looks good but drinks expensive & the staff need training! One girl had obviously had a bad night by the time we got there & was not in a good mood at all! Entertainment as you'd expect from end of season(?) Though the last night a group called Razamataz was very impressive, what an array of different music tastes! The van was not up to the usual standard & a bit cramped for 6 adults but didnt spend much time in it. We ran out of gas on the last night & it took 2 visits to reception to get it sorted but was done by the time we got back from night out.
We enjoyed a meal in the chinese although it desperately needs a refit, you can tell it used to be a pub!Service a bit slow but hey, your on holiday & staff lovely. Don't bother with burger king-enough said! Will definitely go back though & probably take the kids next time, they'd love the fun park.Filey a pleasant beach walk away or a car journey from Brid/ Scarborough.

Hi there just been here for weekend 7th to 9th September with me my husband and 2 teenage children.£23.00,bargain. My husband was not impressed when I mentioned coming to another haven after having a very bad experience at blue dolphin. But he thought primrose was brilliant as so do I and my children this is a super fantastic brilliant site well worth a visit. Pool near by but closed as now September, site, toilet block spotless, even have a bath, funfair five minutes away, prices OK some rides £1.50,£2.00 ago,or petrol racing cars £3.60 for 6 minutes. Lake near by ever thing on it. Even bike hire don't know prices has so much to see and do.Beach one hell of a walk about half hr OK if you are fit, then when you get on beach,20 minutes to filey, well worth a visit. The clubhouse is the same distance and bars and shop, prices were reasonable 4 tins beans a quid.Bar rices are OK a pitcher of lager 4 pints,£8.60 kids slushy drinks expensive but you can buy tall reusable and refillable cups and fill them up for £1.85 but will last them all night and for kids, under five can buy smaller ones, and fill up for 85 p.Splashpool excellent but only for kids andbabiesunder 13. Fish and chips £5.00 have other food but don't bother, head towards beach turn left near chalets have a Chinese restaurant.£7.50 to eat in and £5.00 a dish to take out also there is a cafe that do meals at good prices. We all recommend this site 100 out of 100 wicked. Cant wait to come in 2008 .

Stayed in a haven static for Easter weekend (was booked by other members of my family !) This site was not my cup of tea one bit - it was like transporting a really rough estate and placing it near the sea. The arcades were a nightmare, so expensive and the noise from all the machines was horrendous (God I sound old here!). On the plus side the beach is lovely, short walk down from the site and a 1/2 hour walk or so along the sands into Filey. The kids loved the pool but it was very packed but then it was Easter. What did annoy us was having to pay so much for everything, the boats, the fairground everything cost extra and was really expensive.

We booked this site for three nights for a bargain price of 23 pounds in total coming back on the saturday. Site facilities where fantastic. Ssuper pitch was brilliant and everything was so spaced out and spotless. Site warden was very helpful not to mention the other tourers on this site if there was any problems. However the main precinct was 15 minutes away and when you have 3 children it doesn’t help. Prices in the Jesters night club were a ripoff £2.55 a pint of lager. The kids toy shop was weird and wonderful prices. Arcade was great for my eldest as he was fascinated with the rides. It costs an average 5 pounds for a meal and all you get is a little effort, a burger and a small bag of fries with a naff coke. In all seriousness it cost me 23 pound for the 3 nights but 120 quid in the main precinct at night time. All in all a great site and it’s got to be so far the cleanest immaculate site I’ve been to and its great for the kiddies. Very expensive do but thumbs up marks out of ten: 7 Oh yes and the swimming pool was ace very well done.

Was very wary when the wife told me she had booked as I remember old visits to primrose as a kid. However how wrong I was. This is an immense and flagship site in the haven kingdom.
It is pricey for tourers during the year, but keep an eye out for october deals, we paid £15 for 3 nights! This included the leisure pass which usually cost £20 for each person so it was a bargain. The passes get you into the massive facilities. There are 3 entertainment rooms, 2 kids one adults. One is non smoking which wont be a problem come 1/7/07!
The touring pitches are very good and specious. All on hard standing for the van - grass for the awning. Pitches have drainage and EHU and your own water tap. Great.
The entertainment was fantastic even for this part of the year. Haven have massive buying power and I spoke to a static homes sales guy and this is to be there flagship site in the north. They spent around 6 million pounds last year to update the park and create the new water park. The touring area has a little bar and pool but you are free to use the main sites facilities. Plenty to eat - a superb shop and everything you could ask for. I usually hate commercial parks like this but as it isnt cheap for statics, the nicer people are here and it shows.
IF you have kids, then you are mad to miss this - kids clubs during the day, clean facilities, good security, and fun on a night when you can almost let the kids run free and chill out to a reasonably priced beer. Just what you bought the van for!
With static annual fees of around £8k soon then it is clear they wont let this one go to s**t like some others have. Again look out for the deals as it can be dear and make sure the leisure pass is included.
This is a great first timers site as its easy to get to and loads of room for pitching. We've booked again this october with the deal. See you there.

Excellent site, shop nearby good hard standing with car alongside. Quite site which has a good shower block which was very clean and controlled by code entry system. A 20 minute walk to the nightlife but this means no noisy merrymakers passing late at night. Super swimming pools. Barrier entrance to site offering very good security. One of Haven's better sites.

We stayed at this site and on first impressions were quite impressed by what we saw. The only thing we thought was unusual was that there wern't many camping sites available. Toilet block, fantastic, showers, great and also free hairdryers too!
After the first day, we had decided that a 20 min walk to the bottom complex was a bit too much but to top it off the staff, or the lack of them were not customer friendly, I found them arrogant and often ignored many people. At peak season, you would expect more than 2 members of staff on at one time. The biggest rip off was the fun works passes. I paid £20 each and we had 5, all this gets you into are the pools and the funworkds complex which contains arcades and the pubs (more money to spend!). Now if you are not a noisy pub person then I would advise going out to eat or drink. The aquabar nearest the camp site actually lets people in the pub with out the passes and the pool is £2 each child for the duration its open. I would recommed this pub for seating availability, but it does get repetitive after a few nights with the karaoke. Although I havent given much of a good review, I did actually enjoy my stay here, but there are cheaper places with just as good amenities on site. If you wish to eat out, there is a pub 3 miles towards scarborough called the plough, these do excellent meals ( the fish and chips are georgeous) and there is a play area outside and also indoors which cost £2 each child under 11. The meals on site are value for money, but dont bother with the sunday carvery if you dont want to be insulted with a small portion which is only fit for kids! Take plenty of money as this site is not cheap for rides, drinks ect!
