The site is fairly easy to find as long as you come past the golf course. The other way has very narrow lanes and lots of turning with no signs. Even this way though is narrow in places and the lovely speed bumps make sure everything in your caravan or trailer is found in a different location to where it was left.
We were greeted by all the staff on arrival and shown to one of the fields at the far end and given a choice of a couple of pitches. The pitches themselves are large and due to the size of the site we spent several days with just one other tent in the field. Nearly all the pitches are sloped, but they tend to level out more the further you go from the facilities. Ours was not too bad but we did start to feel a little seasick by the end of the week!
The garden games was a nice touch and the play area kept our children entertained for some time.
The shop is limited but Tesco and Morrisons are close by. The takeaway does your typical bugers, pizza and chips but at a good price and was quite tasty.
Our children only went into the pool a couple of times. For two reason really. One, all under 15s need supervising, and this is strictly monitored, and two, the pool has no cover so did contain a large amount of bugs. However there appeared less the second time they went so someone must clear them every now and then.
Despite all the above being satisfactory though, we would definitely not return. The facilities and lack of cleaning badly let the place down. I fully understand they are old, I also fully understand that you will get some creatures. But the place was covered in cobwebs and spiders. Huge ones, skinny ones, dead ones, the lot! Cobwebs that were easily reached were then when we arrived, and there when we left. Spiders dangled above showers and hung around on the basins and mirrors. Added to this paint was peeling all over and where places had been given a coat it was very badly done.
We arrived just before the facilities were due to be cleaned so initially forgave the state but I went in straight after and there were still hairs on the sink and tiles along with loads of grass on the floor. Such a change from the standards we have found on all other C&CC sites.
The showers are also temperamental. One minute you would be jet blasted then you'd spent the next five getting just a trickle of water. Not ideal when you want to get out of the place as quick as possible.
So for now we will not be back. But as this was all that let it down we would definitely return if improvements are made.

This is a large grassed camp site with 2 facilities blocks. One has family shower rooms the other has disabled wash room. With laundry & dishwashing.
Here the showers were always hot and unusually not push button operated. But the blocks are unheated with no door, old and scruffy.
This site costs the same to stay on as a Caravan Club Site but unlike those sites the facilities blocks on C&CC sites always vary in standard.
I agree with previous posts that the club needs to start upgrading the facilities so that as with the other club we know the standard that we are always going to get.
The ground is sloping and on most of the pitches chocks are required.
Wardens very pleasant on arrival and during our stay.
The nearest bus stop is not too far away but the buses that stop there are only local ones that go around the estate. To get into Sandown to get a bus anywhere is just under a 2 mile walk. Driving the motor home around the Isle of Wight is not an option as 6ft 6in width limits are everywhere. Some of these we are sure are for a physical restriction. While others, as on the approach to this camp site seem to be there just to deter sight seeing.
The approach to the site is very narrow and disconcerting if you are not used to such roads.
The site has a small shop stocking most essentials, a take away, swimming pool (which we didn’t use) and 2 play areas for children.
A very good site for children. But not ideal for motor homers who don’t want to move the van during their stay and use public transport. Although there is a cycle route very close to the rear exit of the site.

Our favourite campsite. This is our second visit to Adgestone, we were here at the same time last year with our VW Campervan and awning.
The campsite has level grass pitches and the ground is not stoney, so easy for pegs. Facilities are very clean. The showers are fabulous when pressure is high, unfortunately the pressure does drop occasionally but still enough to shower.
The site is a couple of miles inland from Sandown, surrounded by countryside, so feels very safe. Children playing in the ball field and riding around on bikes quite happily.
Jason was great. Always smiling and helpful.
Unfortunately for us, we had torrential rain overnight for two nights of our stay and with the weight of the campervan, we got stuck with wheels spinning. Gerald came to the rescue with his site tractor and towed us free. Felt bad we had ploughed their lovely grass. We parked on the other side of the awning for the next night, only to get stuck again! More towing from Gerald. Can't believe they were still so understanding and friendly. Great service.
We stayed over the Jubilee Weekend, so this included taking part in the C&CC Guinness World Record attempt at most people wearing paper crowns! Not sure whether we made it, but the kids loved it as everyone gathered around the swimming pool in their crowns.
Definitely will be back again next year. If they'll have us!

Returned from fantastic 1 week camp and despite being August not too busy as it is a spacious site
The pool was fantastic and in a quiet area
Cant understand previous comments re pitching as no real problem I witnessed the wardens asking people blocking in or incorrectly pitching to move
The showers and toilets were always spotless and whilst they may not be brand new are perfectly adequate as we have to remember we are on a campsite not a 5 star hotel !
The wardens were friendly and ensured everyone was looked after.
The shop was a great asset serving most essentials and even had a takeaway
We will certainly be back to this site

Had a lovely 8 nights at this site.
As said before the showers need updating, come on Camping & Caravanning Club, we are members, we pay our dues and expect money to be spent where needed.
The staff were great though and kept them clean as possible and now they do supply mops and more importantly a squeegy to push excess water away.
The site is very attractive and although high season it wasn't packed.
There is a shop and take away along with a nice swimming pool.
The entrance to the site is pretty scary though as you go round blind bends which are very narrow, thankfully we never met another caravan coming in the opposite direction.
Once again the C&CVC seem to specialise in having sites situated up the most awkward to access roads.

We have just returned from a week on the Isle of Wight which was absolutely fantastic.
The staff at Adgestone campsite couldn't be more helpful and the surroundings are just perfect. Whilst on the site you feel like you are in the middle of the countryside but in truth you are just a short drive from the nearest towns and sandy beaches.
The outdoor swimming pool is very warm and we used it everyday. In fact we were the only ones in it each morning and so it felt like a private pool which was absolutely fantastic!
Whilst it might be true that the facilities are fairly old, they were kept really clean throughout the whole of our stay and the showers are extremely hot and much better than many newer ones I have used at other sites. The family rooms also deserve a mention - they were a brilliant layout with plenty of room and made getting ready with two young children (2 and 4) a pleasure rather than the usual chore whilst away.
Overall, we had a lovely time on the Isle of Wight and our only complaint is that we didn't have enough time to see and do more of what the island has to offer!
A big thank you to everyone at Adgestone who made the trip so perfect. We hope to return very soon.

Great site. Plenty of space for our VW Camper and large awning. Had a spot next to the playing field which was ideal to watch the kids from. Site is in a secluded spot on the island so feels very safe. Pool was enjoyed by the kids and very clean. Had to have an urgent parcel (tent poles!) delivered to the site and the owners were very accomodating with receiving and passing on the delivery. Also the wireless internet made it possible to fix the tent pole issue! Toilet and showers were clean and functioning. Handy little shop with chippy. No complaints. Will definitely be returning.

Just back from an Easter Break at Adgestone.
The site was quiet and we were basically allowed to pitch wherever, chose a spot within sight of the play park, but far enough in to be away from the road.
Kids enjoyed the two playgrounds. As Tinallkn4 says the pool wasn't open yet although the staff were busy filling it.
There was a dog walk with bins, we enjoyed taking Shep down the riverside and around the carp lake. There were public footpaths close by as well for walkers.
The staff were friendly and were happy to help out.
As visitors to the island know, most things are very close anyway, just a 10-15 min car journey can take you north to Sandown / Shanklin or south to Ventnor.
We mainly spent time just chilling on the site, with the kids playing with others they made friends with.
The only downside as mentioned is the state of the toilets & shower block. They are kept clean, but the tiles are tired and make the facilities look dirtier. They should also put out clothes to allow people to wipe down after themselves and buckets & mops to mop out the showers when finished.
There appeared to be a separate shower block but this was not yet opened. May rebook for Summer Hols.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Adgestone. I must say that as we turned up on their first day of opening, we weren't sure what to expect.
Well. Firstly I must say how welcome we were made to feel, we were pretty much given full rein with where we wanted to pitch, although we were shown a few suitable sites by the site manager we were left to ultimately choose for ourselves.
There were outside games (giant chess set, giant jenga and a skittles set)that were free to use, although the pool, shop and take away were not open this early in the season.
Only the main toilet block was open at this time of the season, and this was kept very clean.
I agree with some of the previous reviews, that the showers are a bit tired. But hey!- its camping! they are hot, plentiful and functional. What more can you want!
A nice touch was the couple of family shower rooms which include a toilet and a basin, with plenty of space to get changes and get little ones dried.
The other facilities were also a nice find, with a baby bath area, with a 'sink/bath' to bathe baby in, and a changing area that can be curtained off.
A vanity area is also available, with a few large mirrors on a 'dressing table' type area, with pay to use hairdryers(not sure on price, but was pleasantly surprised at the cost).
A laundry was also available. Again very reasonably priced.
The site has a fantastic 'feel' to it. I felt very relaxed and looked after, without being hassled or neglected!
The staff are onhand all times of the day, and were very busy keeping the place looking nice. It had some nice touches, with feature flowers and plants.
The site is in a rural location, but within easy reach of main stores and also the beach.
I would like to say a big THANKYOU to the staff from 3 of my children, and myself, for making our stay a very pleasant one.

We have just returned from a 5 days stay at this campsite.
As noted in most of the other reviews, the toilet blocks could really do with upgrading, and the possibility of having more showers.
But otherwise they are clean and well looked after.
Having a shop on site was very handy for those things you forgot to bring and the prices were not to bad. The take away, although we didn't use it seemed very popular.
We took our bikes and it was only a short ride to the beach, although there was a few hills. We did use the cycle path to sandown which was very safe and not much of a gradient. If your in too cycling this is a great place to cycle.
Staff on site very nice and helpful, you could always find some one if you needed them.
The pool was great, although we only used it once. It was warm and clean considering the usage it got, there was always someone in it!
The Campsite is ideally situated for most the attractions, its easy enough to get to the main road that will take you pretty much any where on the island.
The nearest supermakets are about 10 minutes away which is a Morrisons, Tesco's and Sainsbury's are around but a little further afield.
Overall we had a great time Weather was good which always plays a big part when camping!
