Returned yesterday from 3 fantastic weeks camping at Beachside. The weather was pretty dreadful, but the site and the holiday were really great!
The pitches are very spacious and we were easily able to fit on our big tent, a day tent and car. The toilet block and showers were fine and there was easy access to water taps across the site.
The swimming pool was well maintained and always lifeguarded, the playing field had lots of space with football goals and tennis and badminton/volleyball nets and I was very impressed with the free provision of a sports coach who ran football and multisports sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
All the staff at Beachside are extremely friendly, helpful and approachable and the reception and shop are excellent. We went to the bar a few times which was very pleasant and we enjoyed the evening entertainment, from singers to Wishy Washy the magician!
The location of the site was brilliant, primarily for the short walk down to the wonderful sandy beach, but also for visiting loads of different places in west Cornwall. Our favourite trips (with children aged 10 and 7)were to St Agnes for beach and rock pooling, Kynance Cove for beach, caves and a real 'wow' factor, Cape Cornwall for rugged coastline and seals (spotted 6 in the bay!) and St Michael's Mount for the excitement of walking in the water across the causeway.
We spent several days on the beach near the campsite which was so fantastic - there were so few people on this section of the beach and with our own lifeguard, it almost felt like a private beach for the campsite! We spent many happy hours on our bodyboards enjoying the surf.
I booked this holiday in January and had been looking forward to it so much - it lived up to all my hopes and Beachside was a wonderful site. I would definitely recommend this site and hope to return really soon.

First time at Beachside holiday park. The site was amongst the sand dunes, pitches large with plenty of room for caravan awning and car. Swimming pool clean and well cared for with lifeguard. Shop well stocked and staff only too happy to help with all problems.
Club house entertainment very good for families with a variety of acts.
The only couple of gripes were shower block and toilets very dated need demolishing and rebuilding. The only showers with any water pressure were the ones furthest from the door all the rest had a trickle not enough to rinse hair thoroughly. Washing up facilities had a nice enclosed area but unfortunately the water was only tepid most of the time so not good for greasy pots.
Also note the drive to the site is a very long single track road with several overtaking places and it is very uneven due to subsidence with the sand.
Overall the site caters more for chalets and bungalows and tourers seem less important

Stayed for two nights whilst touring Devon & Cornwall.
Have stayed here before in September 2011,
As then, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Large & well appointed pitches. Reasonable facilities - showers/toilets etc.
Pleasant games room, nice Bar and well-stocked shop on-site. And my wife's favourite - excellent laundry room with washers, driers & Irons.
As you would expect of the Towans, miles of glorious golden sand, which are pleasant to stroll along in either direction.
Great site if you are into watersports.
Local pub - Bucket of Blood (don't be put off by name) oozes charm and character and is well worth a visit.
Pleasant walk into Hayle which has a good range of shops, including a large CO-OP.
One criticism being that all the water points are of the push-valve type, which means they don't accept a standard hose fitting and you have to push the tap down constantly whilst dispensing water, which is a bit of a pain when you are filling a 100 litre plus tank.
Would recommend and will probably return.

WOW. Is all I can say about this site. To say this site exceeded my expectations would be a huge understatement. If you're thinking about staying here, don't think any more, just do it.
The site is located within the sand dunes next to approx 3 miles of sandy beach. There is a sandy slope down the dunes to a really clean beach which is lifeguard patrolled. Also, the beach isnt too busy as it seemed to be only people from this site that set up in the near vicinity.
Approx 5 miles from St Ives, just across the bay, however if you want to visit, drive to the park and ride in Hayle and catch the train to St Ives, which is ideal for sightseers as the train route hugs the scenic coast line.
Also within driving distance are the tourist spots of Newquay (45 mins) Lands End (30 mins) Penzance (30 mins) so you'll never be short of things to do (if you venture off the site that is)
Site has a bar, shop, laundrette all within the central complex. Shop well stocked with a variety of food/drink and also serves hot sandwiches in the morning (bacon/egg etc)
Bar has evening entertainment and is reasonably priced. There is also a games room with pool table and a few arcade machines to keep the kids happy
There is a playing field (about the size of 2 football pitches) for kids to play ball games and also 2 play areas for kids - 1 for ages up to 5 and the other for 4 and above)
This site also has 2 outdoor swimming pools (with lifeguard) (1 for kids), which even on the dark days seemed to be busy. Around the pool are sun loungers for adults to sun bathe and dry out after a hard swim.
Pitches are ample size. We have a 22 foot tourer, full length awning. Even with the car at the side of the awning there was still room for the kids to set up a swing ball, and have a barbecue at the side of the van.
There is one thing that stops this site getting a 10. For a site of 80+ pitches, 1 toilet/shower block isnt enough. And if, like us, you have a pitch towards the top of the dunes, its a fairly steep climb back to your pitch each time you visit the bathroom.
However this is only a slight blemish on an otherwise perfect site
We were there a week and wished it could have been longer. So we will be booking again for 2 weeks next year

Just returned from our second visit to this site and have just booked to go back again next year. For a site of its size it is very well looked after on the whole - toilets and shower blocks cleaned regularly and ample washing up facilities - our only complaint would be that the men's showers are too hot so cannot shower the children in there which means the job always falls to mum! Site is kept very clean and the rules about noise levels have always been adhered to during our stays. Beach is stunning and a short walk straight from the site - a bit of a hill to climb up on the way back but well worth it. St Ives nearby and you can catch train there which saves the nightmare of parking in St. Ives itself and it is one of the loveliest train journeys we have ever done - quite short but beautiful. Really cannot recommend this site enough - also has football pitch on the cliffs which our boys love! Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic! Three children loved the freedom two playparks great pool, and paddling pool beach on your door step. We only went for a week but would have stayed longer.
Toilets clean, free showers. Staff lovely and ready to help. We will be returning! Plenty of space for tent car and outside seating we went out of school holidays so site was quite however, I don't think it would have been a problem as pitches are well marked and not squashed.
Beach is 3 miles of lovely sandy coastline, wetsuits needed and can be hired from a local shop at £20 per week.

Great campsite for families. Outdoor pool is lifeguarded and safe for children, only downside is that children of around five or six may get bored in the small pool but struggle to reach the bottom of the big pool even in the shallow end.
Quick and easy access to a great beach, which is also lifeguarded in summer months. Playgrounds were a hit with my 5 and 7 year olds but the coastal one could do with a bit of maintenance.
The playing field offered opportunities for ball games, having a tennis net, volley ball net and football goals. The site shop sold all the essentials at a reasonable price as well as the ingredients for a slap up camping breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage etc.
If you don't have time or facilities to cook your own, hot breakfast baps can be purchased direct from the shop.
The site is well placed for exploring cornwall, being close to the A30 and several attractions - Paradise Park nearby can be recommended (my children loved it and we spent an entire day there).
The shower and toilet blocks on site were always clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
All in all I would recommend this site without reservation.

Would recommend this to anyone was well worth it and we going back next year

Stayed Sat/Sun/Mon - campsite very good location with adequate shower/toilet facilities. Bit of a walk back to pitch but didn't mind. WIFI available by well stocked shop & reception friendly staff.
Cleaners in loo block every evening kept place spotless. Free hairdryers useful. Regarding Rabbits I loved the one I saw hopping around and didn't mind the odd holes here and there it didn't affect my pitch (number 83) which was right at the back- ok if you can walk ok etc.
Pool looked nice but didn't use it. Bar didn't use. Kids playground looked good but I've no kids. Beach and sunset absolutely superb.
Other campers from Cornwall said it was the best value campsite for location/facilities for a weekend break. I can't wait to go back I loved coming out the tent and seeing the view of St Ives, the sea and sunset. I didn't mind the electricity pilons overhead.
The nearest pub 'bucket of blood' is a foody pub but the walk back up to campsite is a killer (up hill) on the legs. Sells good beer too.
Overall would recommend campsite - the bungalows and chalets look good as well. I am looking to go back soon!

Arrived mid afternoon to a friendly reception who told us to use a particular pitch as this was a good location. In reality he was just lining us all up together, (only 4 vans on whole of site all next to each other).
Pitches were quite large with electricity but they obviously have trouble with rabbits so tenters could have a problem with holes.
Toilet block was dated and, when we were there, in need of a good clean. This was out of the main season so would worry what the cleaning regime would be when full.
Club and swimming pool again not open until June but would still stay there again in the quiet season due to the easy access to wonderful beach.
