This is one of our favourite sites. This was our second visit of the year and we have another trip booked for September.
Nice spacious site with friendly, helpful wardens and in a lovely scenic location. Well defined pitches with TV hook-up point and children's play areas in the centre of the park. Toilet blocks are modern and cleaned regularly although on this occasion we found the showers a bit hot and mentioned it to the warden.
Site is well run and cared for. Lots of wild rabbits wandering about too which the kids love.
Huntly is a short walk away with an Asda and Tesco plus local shops available. Tubing, bike hire and additional play parks within a five minute walk. Also the substantial ruins of Huntly Castle are close by which are worth a visit.
The falconry centre is a short drive away and again worth a visit with regular flying displays and a small restaurant as well.

Had a really good weekend at Huntly, site and pitches are really well laid out. Kids were happy with the play area and the toilets and showers were clean and tidy (showers were really hot, but I mentioned this to wardens who said they can easily turn it down so may have already done it)
Will definitely be back. Nice location and can easily walk into Huntly centre and to a large park by the river, lots of other things to do a short drive away.

Just returned from another wonderful weekend at Huntly Castle. Beautifully managed site, large pitches with plenty of space for everything. TV aerial point at each pitch ensures a good signal.
Separate areas for adults only and families, and also dog friendly, with plenty of walks around the parks and castle nearby.
Large Tesco and Asda nearby, and also within easy walking distance of the town centre, which has plenty of places to eat and drink as well as a host of local shops.
Whilst wifi is available throughout the site, it is quite expensive at £2 per hour or £6 per day.

My wife and I when visiting friends in Keith decided to try this campsite rather than book a hotel, or stay indoors.
This site is an absolute gem. At reception we were met by the duty wardens and they were very friendly and helpful. We are new to camping (tent) and the facilities on offer are the best we have had up until now.
The shower and toilet blocks are spotless, and there was a handy BBQ cooking shelter on hand which allowed us to prepare our own food despite poor weather.
The site is spacious, quiet, and many pitches are well protected from the elements as there are trees surrounding and dividing the site. The initial pitch offered to us was slightly waterlogged due to the recent rainfall, but we were able to select our own which came with electrical hookup.
We will use this site again next time we are up in the North East of Scotland.

Just back from a weekend stay. This is a beautiful site and the wardens are friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks were spotless as usual. After reading reviews that the site was rundown am so pleased to see that this was not the case !
We had a very pleasant peaceful stay. There was plenty of things for our son to do he took a short walk over to the Nordic Ski Center and went tubing.
He also had a dip in the river Devon spent hours in the park and played tennis at the tennis courts we never had time to fit in a trip to the swimming pool.
The supermarkets are nice and close for stocking up on supplies and we also visited Deans shortbread factory where my son stocked up on his biscuit supplies.
I would highly recommend this site as we always come home wishing we could have stayed longer.

Just spent a week at Huntly Castle. Very well maintained site. We were on the camping field with the barbecue cooking area in the middle. The pitch was not regimented and we had plenty of room for most of the time as the site seemed quiet.
We were not troubled by unruly children as there were hardly any on site and those that were did not make any excessive noise.
We were told the nearest toilet block was unavailable so we had to walk to the block further away which was a little inconvenient in the middle of the night or first thing. It was very clean however with hot water and the showers very good.
The hairdryer was the type you have to hold a button down to make it work which hurts after a while. Most annoyingly the block nearest to the camping field was reopened at the end of the week we think due to more tourers arriving but sadly the showers were out of bounds. In addition the hand dryers were also not working.
We had not been able to wash the pots in hot water either until we mentioned it as to give them their due, the wardens helped and it was resolved. We felt the rates were pricey but we found all the wardens friendly but not overbearing as some sites can be.
About the area itself, we had a great time and found Huntly quiet with a few shops. The local Chinese and Indian take-away supplied us with a lovely evening meal but you are very close to Tesco and Asda for shopping if you wish.
We would recommend Dufftown which is 14 miles away for a meal out as it has several small restaurants and a pub which has been recently renovated which was nice. The famous Glen fiddich Distillery is in the town which is worth a look.
We visited the Speyside Cooperage, Loch Ness, Aviemore, The Cairngorms and Fort Agustus which were well worth the trip from Huntly and a good day trip.
Overall we would love to visit the area again and would consider Huntly, Not sure much for children to do as we are older campers with no children to entertain so cannot really comment.

I was disappointed with the visit to Huntley this year. Yet again there are new wardens and not the quality of the ones that were there last year. The wardens all seem to have a large amount of dogs and at times you couldn’t get moved in reception for them. I am a dog lover but not everyone is and should they be in the reception area?
There is still the problem of uncontrolled kids roaming the site in gangs on bikes late into the night and the wardens to nothing to prevent this. One of the areas is for families and we happened to be camped opposite that area and it was very noisy with parties going on in the early hours and children running wild. The site itself is not as nice as it was and it could do with some TLC in some of the play areas. Our biggest disappointment was the amount of dog dirt around the site.
Huntly is becoming a bit run down and rather less vibrant then in years gone by. I would also say the that the pubs are becoming a bit rough. However the area around Huntly still remains very pleasant.
We found the site expensive and not all that it is claimed to be.

My husband and I and our 3 children have just spent a very peaceful 4 days at Huntly, we choose huntly due to it being local to friends and family,
The site is a large site and very well maintained, the toilet and shower block were cleaned daily,
The pitches were a good size, we had a grassed play area with a children's play gym which my children enjoyed.
The reception is just that, there is no shop but they do sell some milk and bread,
Overall it was a lovely site and we would stay there again

We didn't book but was given a fully serviced pitch (which wasn't required for our motorhome) But we were told this was only 2 left we paid £28. 50 for 1 night for 2 adults and our 13year old grandson which I thought was a bit expensive.
Yes toilets were clean but not 5* quality. We have been in much better for £18. 00 - £22 which was average price per night.
The pitch itself for a serviced pitch was ok size for motor home but if caravan with awning was on this pitch you may not even get your car parked beside it. Later on as we discovered there was plenty other pitches we could have been on with just electric hook up and not the serviced pitch.

We have just returned from our second visit to this site. We only live about 50 miles distant, and enjoy visiting the area for a couple of days when we get time off. The wardens are welcoming and lead you to your pitch by bike.
The site is very clean and tidy. The free TV hook up is a nice touch, and the toilets are very clean. The site is a short walk through woods from the town of Huntly. Tesco and Asda are nearby, and the Deans shortbread factory is excellent for lunch, with a viewing gallery allowing visitors to watch the shortbread being made. As yet, however, we have had no luck finding anywhere even half-decent to go for dinner!
Would suggest a trip to Alford to visit the motor museum there, and a trip to Banff to see the paintings in Duff House, but there are many attractions in the area, so you will not be stuck for things to do.
And almost forgot the most endearing quality of the site - the huge cream coloured rabbits which hop around the area.
