We had a great weekend at this site. The welcome was warm and helpful, we were shown facilities and where we could pitch (any where in the field! ). As it was the start of the season there were a couple of niggles which were quickly rectified. There a few signs around the site indicating where we could empty grey water or the chemical toilet.
They could make the showers easier for families especially young children as the lack of chairs or changing table makes it difficult to shower and dry them easily.
Location is fantastic with excellent views. We visited the blue lagoon which is stunning. Best go early morning before it gets busy!
We will be returning to this site.

Arriving at Celtic Camping at 6. 15 on a Sunday evening, some 30 hours later than we intended and having badly damaged our car 10 minutes before arrival, I wasn't in the best of moods. There were only 4 other tents in the vast, gently sloping field and 2 of those were wind damaged and uninhabited. The South Westerly wind was still blowing at about force 5 so we (2 adults) struggled to pitch out ageing Outwell Montana 6. One of the steel poles snapped and I had to substitute it with a pole from the awning which meant we couldn't pitch the awning. After a couple more minor disasters, I decided we would pack up in the morning and go home. We couldn't make a quick getaway though, as everything in the tent was wet, (it rained all night and the tent leaked) and by the time we had dried everything, the sun was out and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I went to see the campsite owner and he said the weather had been so bad it had wrecked almost every tent that had been on site. He also said if it rained again we were welcome to sleep and cook in the barn. The barn is vast, carpeted, well lit and contains 16 large picnic tables, 2 freezers, microwave, washing machine and dryers. Toilets and free showers are located in the same building. Toilets could have been a tad cleaner, (There was even a resident grass snake!) and there was nowhere to hang your clothes in the shower without wetting them. We decided to stay as long as the weather was good and it was perfect for the rest of the week. The views from any pitch on this site are amazing, as is most of the Pembrokeshire coastline. The coastal footpath is accessible directly from the site. I recommend a walk in either direction from the site, South to Whitesands bay or North to Porthgain, taking in Abereiddy and the Blue Lagoon. Log fires are allowed anywhere on the camping field and unfortunately, you can see the scorching where people have had fires before. There are no firepits. There is a flat field near the barn with electric hook ups for those that need them. The big field where we camped is pretty much all on a slope although it is not too severe. The owners are the friendliest and most helpful people you could wish to meet. They are also very laid back, so there are no marked pitches - just camp where you like. They don't come round collecting fees either, you are trusted to pay when you are ready. Although there is supposed to be a charge for dogs, we didn't have to pay for our two terriers. The guy in reception said 'No, they're small enough to be under the radar' All in all, a fantastic week on a fabulous site, especially given that we got off to an awful start!

We chose Celtic Camping because of the fantastic reviews and weren't disappointed. The location of the campsite is simply stunning, with fabulous views all around. It was an absolute pleasure to sit round the campfire (no need for a fire pit here, just light it on the grass) and watch the sun set. We acquired a picnic table when one of our neighbours moved on but with hindsight it would have been useful to have sorted one out at the beginning of our trip.
The field with electric hook ups is close to the barn - inevitably you end up pitched quite close together and everyone else has to walk through that field to get to the facilities. But if you can manage without hook up you can pitch up anywhere in the massive field so you can have a bit more privacy and an unbroken view. We visited in August - there were a lot of people camped in the big field, but everyone had masses of space around them.
Given the number of people on the campsite at the time we were there, the showers and loos were excellent - yes, they got muddy from time to time, but they were cleaned up regularly. We obviously timed our visits well as we never had to queue in the ladies for either the shower or the loo. The boys said the gents were a bit smelly but I can't comment and I suspect they were being picky. A number of families were using the huge barn for cooking, eating, washing up and generally hanging out, which is a great plus of this campsite, and there are lots of fridges and freezers which you can put your stuff in.
We had a brief walk along the cliff path from the bottom of the campsite - stunning. We visited the Blue Lagoon, which is amazing and watched some crazy people diving off the cliffs! Porthgain was stunning too - sadly we didn't eat fish and chips at the Shed which is a shame as since we got home, the Times have voted it one of the top fish and chip places in the country.
St David's is a lovely little city. One basic supermarket, but excellent independent shops - butcher, deli and lots of cafes (we had lunch in the Sound Cafe). We found the beaches rather disappointing - but maybe we didn't find the best ones (I know that in South Pembrokeshire they're stunning). Whitesands was really busy and commercialised with sun lounger hire! Newgale is close to the main road, so again fairly commercial.

Arrived to be greeted by a lovely big old dog! and then the lovely staff. It was my 40th birthday and being a Volkswagen camper fan I couldn't help but to buy one of the camp sites clothing range. We paid and was told to park where we like as the whole field was huge!. On this day/night it was really really windy! so we parked up and was rocked to sleep. The toilet and showers were very very clean and the whole site, area and people was all top ten.
Will be back next year.

A wonderful campsite in an idyllic location. I particularly loved the fact you can have campfires (they sell wood and kindling at reasonable prices)and the dog was free to run around without bothering anyone as the campsite is so big. I doubt even if full, if this campsite would feel busy. Great showers (perhaps a little more regular cleaning?) and loved the hot water on tap for cups of tea in the communal kitchen area - especially when high winds made lighting a stove or barbeque particularly challenging. Wonderful friendly owner Ian and his staff who could not have been more helpful - always on hand to help out with problems with tents or windbreaks. Great walks via the coast path to either St Davids or Porthgain for scrummy fish and chips. Tempted to try the coasteering and shooting weekend next time! The landscape is just spectacular and we feel we have found a little gem that we will return to again and again.

My Partner and I recently spent the night at this wonderful site. We were greeted warmly by staff who were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were brilliant there was everything you'd need for a long stay, freezers, washing machine and dryer to name but a few. They even had recycling facilities. The only minor issue was that the smell close to the bathrooms, outside only, was particularly strong. This wasn't a problem for us as the site doesn't have designated spots, unless you want an electrical hook up, which I'm glad we didn't as that could have been very unpleasant, due to proximity. The site is large enough that even on the august bank holiday we were able to have loads of space around us and a fantastic view. I slept incredibly well to the gentle sounds of the sea. We liked it there so much we considered spending an extra night, but the weather turned and we decided to head off. The site feels more like it's targeted at families with older children, groups of friends and adults, there are no designated play areas and there are open fires. There were some young children there who were making the most of the space with balls and things. But as this site doesn't have strict rules there is drinking and talking and music into the night, although people were considerate not blasting it or shouting till very late, things seemed to quiet down around eleven, maybe something to consider if you have young ones who need quiet.

I love this site!
I'm going to start with what this site isn't: it isn't an immaculately landscaped site with full hardstanding caravan pitches, play areas, flowers in the toilet blocks and lots of rules about balls, kites and noise, so if that's what you like this probably won't be the site for you.
BUT! it is an incredibly friendly place, such a warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, lending hook up extension leads, dropping off picnic benches, weather updates, hints and tips on the local area, they were fab!
The camping fields all have level areas, so our trailer tent pitched perfectly, the ground was a tad stony, so I'd advise taking some good pegs with you. We pitched on the hook-up field which was very close to the toilet block and camping barn, which has hot water boiler, freezer for ice packs, microwave, washer and drier and lots of tables so there's somewhere to go and sit to eat if it turns really grim. The toilet block is clean, functional and well laid out, plenty of shower cubicles and the showers are free and nice and warm.
What really made this site for me was the relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere - they allow open fires and BBQ's and it was fabulous to sit out of an evening toasting marshmallows around a fire. There is very little light pollution so on a clear night the view of the stars was truly breathtaking and the views of the sun setting over the sea were fantastic and different every evening. There were a few party groups staying while we were there and there was a bit of noise into the night, but nothing silly or going on uber late and I really enjoyed the party atmosphere.
There is direct access onto the coastal path and a stony beach/cove is accessible down a steepish path, where we saw seals on one occasion. Nearby you have Whitesands beach (sandy beach, cafe, serves evening meals too), Abereidy (stony beach, good for watersports and blue lagoon within bay), Portgain (restaurant & pub) and St Davids (decent supermarket, pubs etc) all within a few minutes drive and the surrounding roads are great for cycling.
This site is on a hillside overlooking the sea and, as such, when the wind blows in off the Atlantic you do know about it and we saw a few people who had problems with their tents, so if you do visit, be aware and pitch carefully, the strongest winds tended to be off the sea and from the West (left looking out to sea).

We have just returned from 5 nights at Celtic Camping. We found the site easily and checking in was a doddle - 2 nice guys who could not have been more pleasant or helpful.
We could pitch wherever we wanted and chose the biggest field. The views from anywhere on this site are amazing and the fact that you could sit and have a fire and watch the sunset over the sea is just fantastic. Be ready for the wind, it was pretty windy this week but as long as you are prepared the views will more than make up for it. You can also buy logs, and take advantage of having a fire pit and picnic bench delivered to you !
They have excellent facilities, with a massive camping barn with all you need - electric toasters, fridges, freezer and a washer and drier all free to use.
The toilet and washing up facilities were of a good standard and the showers were nice and hot when we returned from the beach.
There are plenty of opportunities to walk straight out of the site with the coast path at the bottom and also a small cove that was a really nice place to sit and watch the sea.
We would definitely stay there again if we were to return to the area as it suited all of our needs perfectly.

Helloooo, we are from New Zealand and just finished travelling around England and Wales (over 2 months). This was one of the best campsites we stayed in (definitely the best in Wales!). We were greeted with a lively welcome and a helping attitude. They put us in the best spot out of the wind, and with the best views (although any pitch on this site has breathtaking views!) The bathroom facilities were great ample showers/toilets/basins. Also there was a great big dinning area if you wanted to bring food in to eat (which was better than sitting in a cold tent), would be a great way to meet people if we weren't the only ones camping (that's what you get for camping in the winter). Great location to Tintagel, Pembroke, Blue lagoon, St Davids, Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber, Cilgerran Castle. Great at night hearing the ocean from the tent. If we were ever going back to Wales we would go here!

Just back from a 3 night stay at this excellent site. Spectacular views from all across the site and a huge amount of space. We were there to watch the Red Bull Cliff Diving taking place at the nearby Blue Lagoon and the site was pretty busy with 'festival types' who had obviously come for the same reason. Even though there were a lot of units on site the space available meant it was never too noisy or felt remotely crowded.
The facilities were very good and the barn excellent (free freezer for ice blocks, fridges, washing machine / drier, free tea & coffee, etc. ). It's a very sociable and communal area (we were offered a cooked breakfast by strangers both times we popped in!). Free showers and modern facilities (although got fairly grubby with the amount of people staying - our only gripe).
The cliff top location meant views and walks were amazing. Downside is the wind so be prepared and, if camping, pitch securely (we saw a few damaged tents).
No charge for dogs, free use of picnic tables, camp fires allowed and very friendly staff. Remote location however so limited shops & pubs nearby.
All in all it was pretty much perfect and we will definitely return.
