A basic camp-site with showers based at a working farm. Camping as it used to be - no marked pitches, plenty of room and no silly rules. Camp fires permitted.
Views to remember and very handy for the coastal path. The shuttle bus picks up at the end of the drive (flag it down) making the site ideal for those walking this part of the coastal path.
This is the kind of camping we like and the test of anywhere you go is would you go again. The answer is a definite "Yes". £10 pn in August including shower is excellent value at today's rates.
Only downside is it's a long trek from the field to the toilets / showers / water but this is more than made up for by the friendliness of the site and it's laid-back atmosphere.

This is a normal working farm nothing more and if you want creature comforts then don't go here but if you want an old fashion proper "camping" this is just the site. We pitched where ever we wanted, had an open fire barbecue the works and they allowed well behaved dogs. The toilets were clean and working showers with no metres for hot water BUT access was about 200 meters walk through the farm. You must check out the cream teas at the perennial nursery which is just down the road and St Davids about 30 mins away. The views were spectacular and access to the Pembrokeshire coastal path isn't far which comes to the only down side. The wind, it was very open and can be very noisy especially at night whistling around the tent even when the weather is very good.

August 2005 We spent a week here. If you like your campsites with all mod cons, clubs, entertainments, etc, you'll hate it. But we hate that kind of campsite so we loved Pwll Carrog, it's wonderful.
The facilities are basic (fields with loos and showers back near the farm house) but they do the job. There's big fields for the kids to play in, fantastic views of the ocean, Abereiddi and Strumble Head lighthouse, and a beautiful area with loads to do.
All this for £10 a night (tent, car, 2 adults, 1 kid) AND free potatoes thrown in (they were digging spuds when we went to pay and Ian gave us some to bring home).
Someone said you need a car, well yes it would help (and we had one) but there is now a reasonable minibus service up and down the coast paths, and the driver will drop you off near the campsite if you ask (we used it a couple of times).

August 2004 A great site! Shouldn't be telling you this!! If you want an "away from it all" this is definately the site. We pitched our tent where ever we wanted to with an excellent view (winds can be high). walk to the toilets a far way but worth it for the views (& the kids, tires them out!) If you want creature comforts then don't go to this site but if you want proper camping this site is a must! Toilets clean & working, showers played up when we there but owners got it working in the end. We had to cut our stay short due to bad weather but will definately go back again! St.davids (the closest town) has one supermarket, but has nearly everything that you could need when camping (food wise!), it is about 20 mins away. Beaches are out of this world and most allow dogs!!

August 2003 When we arrived down the farm driveway we both thought "Oh no this looks terrible". Don't let first opinions put you off this is a working farm and a great campsite. There are two camping fields one for bookings and an ad-hoc one for overspill.
Make sure you book first as this ensures fantastic sea views over Abereiddy bay/beach and the Blue lagoon. Everytime we opened the door of a morning all you could see was the ocean (Fantastic!).
The site is basic two showers and four toilets but the showers and sinks are electric so you're quaranteed a hot shower and hot water for washing at any time of the day or night. Ian and Judy (The owners) are very friendly and very helpful. If you've got youngish children (ours are 8,5 & 4) the farm children are very friendly and happy to play with everyone. Be prepared though as they're bound to go exploring as our's did with them!! (we did find them all again! (Not sure if that was good or bad?)). All in all we had a great time and look forward to visiting again especially at only £9 per night for 5 of us in a large trailer tent.
If I had one criticism (hopefully constructive) it is that the farm dogs are a little too friendly and wander round the campsite.

April 2003 Pwll Caerog Farm is on National Trust Land. The farm and campsite are run by Ian or Judy Griffiths. On arriving Ian gave us the low down of the site and the local areas work a look at.
The site isn’t huge but basically of a smallish camping area next to the main farm buildings and a section of a second field which has been grassed for camping which is parallel to the first. They also have a couple of camping barns for larger groups/clubs.
We were using a tent but there are a number of electric hookups if required. Considering that it was Easter the camp site was relatively quite with just two motor homes and about 2 other tents each night.
The facilities are ok, as I said earlier this is a farm and one of the farm buildings has been converted to provide a couple of showers, sinks and a number of toilets, they appear to be a work in progress with tiles ready to be put up etc. But I don’t go to site to admire the décor as long as the showers are hot and the toilets flush then I’m happy with them and they were.
What Pwll Caerog has going for it that makes it an ideal camp site (especially for walkers or cyclists) in my book is its location. It’s just a short walk from the coast and the Pembrokeshire coastal path and the site itself has a great views. You’ll need a car to fully appreciate Pembrokshire, but within a short drive of the site you have St David’s and Whitesands in one direction and a number of small bays villages in the other inc the Sloop In which is a great pub just a short drive down the coast, Ian will tell you about it.
If you’re into walking or Cycling and want to avoid the larger camp sites which tend to be full of surfers and the like then this quiet secluded site is ideal, it’s definitely on my list of sites I’ll be going back to.
Oh yeh, one more thing it’s only 7 quid a night (£5 for tent and £1 for each person). We stayed three nights and Ian only charged us £20. As that irritating guy with the orange tan says on TV, ’Cheep as Chips’
