Excellent park. I vowed I would not return to this site, however when I discovered it had changed hands I decided to give it another chance. I am so pleased I did. I found the booking process easy and friendly with pleasant knowledgeable staff. First impressions of the park were good, very clean and we'll kept. Our pitch was in the Willows, a seasonal pitch, with all services available and a nice size pitch. The caravans are not crammed in and kept immaculately clean. I saw wardens patrolling the site regularly and also litter picking. The shower and toilet block was very clean and warm. We ate in the pub and found the food choices good and cost very reasonable. There was a nice park for children. In the village of long horsely there is a shop that does home cooked pastries with newspapers and other essential products. Morpeth is a 10 min drive and definitely worth a visit.

Forget me not has been bought by new owners and the improvements to this park areexcellent. The toilet block a very clean. The new lay out of the park is fantastic. Each hard stand has water grey waste drains and electric hook up. The staff could not be more friendly. They have plans for a super new clubhouse which looks stunning. New roads on site. All one way system which works. Overall excellent site. Will return.

Anthea and I travel a lot around the uk with our tourer. We decided to go local for a short stay from fri evening (after work) to Sunday afternoon, this site is only 30 mins / 15 miles from our home, so we thought we would give it a try as we have stayed at the sister park, ord house at berwick.
Fantastic weekend / great overall stay - big thanks to 'young' owner and his team.
The site is lovely (a mixture of statics / seasonals / tourers), it is very clean and has a new amenity block (great hot & powerful showers and spotless and warm inside), roads are all new tarmac and our hard standing fully serviced pitch w33 was a very good size and a nice pitch.
From arrival to departure all of the staff we met were fantastic and cannot do enough to help. The owner himself checked us in and also took our food & drinks order later that night in the restaurant (mind you he 'up sold' me into the steak! But it was lovely), Anthea had the chicken curry which was lovely too and the home made chunky chips were perfect! The bar / restaurant itself was pretty full but not noisy and the service from the owner and the ladies once again was very good.
We spent saturday at the national trust site of cragside at rothbury, only 7 miles / 20 mins away (the walks were great) and the weather was sunny and hot. We decided to just stay on the park on sunday and chill out as the sun was shining, we left at 4pm ish.
This is now a lovely site, with a good little bar & restaurant, lovely sunny & flat pitches which are hard standing / fully serviced.
The only issue at this time is if you are touring no children are allowed this year as they are upgrading the site, however the owner told us that in 2015 they plan to allow children again, this will be ideal for us as we would have taken our granddaughter Amy with us if we could have this time.
The site is circa 1. 5 miles from the small village of longhorsley, which has a good pub and a village shop / general dealers for food / papers / bakery items etc and the market town of morpeth is only 15 to 20 mins drive away.
We will return to this little Northumberland gem later in the year (ourselves) for a nice peaceful stay and again next year with our granddaughter.
Having now stayed at both the maguires parks for tourers, east ord and forget me not, i have to say both parks are very good and the changes at forget me not are fantastic, and we understand they are continuing to improve and invest in this site according to the owner.
Thank you to the owner and the team for a lovely weekend - we will be back. The service was fantastic from booking to leaving. Somehow they even managed sunshine / no rain / warm temperatures for the whole weekend in Northumberland :-)
Cheers
Steve & anthea mather

Our first time at this site and we had a peaceful weekend. Everything is being looked after and improved by the new owners. There was a problem with the water supply in the area not just at the site. The staff headed by the owner took care of all on site, Northumbria water supplied bottled water, so nothing to worry over. Please try the site out, you will be pleasantly surprised. Our thanks to all at Forget me not, see you soon.

Stayed here 1st bank holiday w/end in may, read lots of bad reviews on here but this site has been taken over and must say it is best site we have been on to date. Roads around site have all been resurfaced. Pitches are hard stand with loads of room and you have your own water and waste from sink. Showers clean and well presented with plenty hot water. Did not get to club house because on the Saturday when we had planned to go, there was a burst water mains some half mile away and the site had no water so club house could not open but was told it was well decorated and food served there was good. Staff were brilliant and always smiling and helpful Billy the owner even went out his way and gave every one who was staying there that weekend a free voucher for one night.
They also handed out free bottles of water for every one.
Also like to mention that barriers are in place so cards are needed to drive into and out of the site and staff regularly drive around the area to make sure that there is no unnecessary noise.
Will keep returning to this site as long as all their high standards are maintained, 10 out of 10 to billy and all the staff who work there.

Visited Easter weekend. Really enjoyed it. The park is very clean and well maintained. The staff are excellent they can't do enough for you. The toilet and showers also very clean. Clubhouse good but a little small. Will return and will recommend. All in all a very pleasant stay. We visited Rothbury, Morpeth and Amble all very easily reached

I have to say from start of this review that the whole site has changed in quality since the last owners left. To start with every pitch is hard standing with different sized gravel on the pitch making it so easy to set up your caravan and awning. There is a one way system when driving round so no hold ups when others are leaving or arriving.
The hookup is 16 amp, there is a water connector and grey water drain on most seasonal pitches. The pitches are really quite generous being about 6 mtr x 7 mtr again on the seasonal side. On the touring side they ar still around 6 x 6 mtrs.
The toilet block is really clean at all times and are heated. The mens have four of everything, toilet, shower, urinals and wash basin. There is the usual warm air hand dryer and a hair dryer. The ladies have 8 toilets, two privacy units and four showers. The showers are all free and plenty hot water. There is a family bathroom with a bath, food prep room and the chemical waste point. The club house has a range of soft and alcoholic drinks, children are allowed in the main bar till 9pm then into the family room after that. There is a good selection of meals on at most times but best check the board for times. There is a laundry room in the main clubhouse block. Security coming onto the site is in the way of a barrier in and out, this is controlled with a swipe card which is the same for entry to the toilets. There is security who drive around on a evening to keep an eye on things.
Overall I will give the site full marks and definitely coming back.

After reading previous reviews about this site, I would just like to put the record straight, we have had a seasonal pitch here for 4 years now and up till September last year I have to agree with some of the reviews. Children were allowed to run unsupervised till very late at night around park and club area, the rules in place weren't enforced. If the people who wrote the reviews were to come back now they would be astonished at the difference, in September last year a new owner took over the park and immediately rules we're put in place and enforced, park is patrolled at regular intervals to make sure of this. There is a strict policy regarding children at the club that they must always be supervised by an adult and not allowed to run wild. The park has changed drastically since then and the work is ongoing, we now have new roads, all the pitches are neat and tidy and the touring field now has a road and hard standing pitches, trees have been cut back, new fencing in place, and all new shrubs and flowers placed around site which look lovely, the toilets and shower blocks are cleaned daily and regularly checked, the meals in the bar are fantastic and very good value for money, all the staff are friendly and helpful, as are the management. Eventually a new club house and play park will be built but all this takes time. But I'm sure if people called again they would be pleasantly surprised and would definitely want to take their holidays here, and 1 last thing all the people here are very friendly, it's like 1 big happy family, and any newcomers are always made more than welcome and there's always an army on hand to help with awnings etc

As you may or may not be aware Forget Me Not Holiday Park has been sold to Maguires Country Parks. The Maguire family took over the management of the park on 23rd September 2013.
Customers can expect to see a number of changes and improvements on the Park over the coming months and years as funds allow. The Maguire family plan to invest in the presentation of the Park and its amenities.
Our aim is to gain a 5 star grading from the National Tourism Board, adding another park to our already successful five star brand. We would like create a less commercial feel at Forget Me Not and create a more tranquil family retreat for everyone to enjoy!
The existing park rules along with some new rules have now been implemented, all of which benefit the customer & in turn address all of the negative feedback in previous reviews.
We would very much like to invite previous customers back to Forget Me Not where they will see a big difference in the way the park now operates.
We look forward to seeing you in the near future.
From Billy Maguire & all the staff
