Just spent a weekend at Forget Me Not but would not go back. The site has recently changed its rule so there are no children allowed in the touring section. It seemed strange as the play area is in the tourers section so there youngsters running around the vans anyway. I can only imagine what it will be like in the school holidays as the noise continued well into late evening. We tried the club house on site and the meals were good value and nicely cooked, but the general atmosphere and the number of unsupervised children running around the bar did spoil things. Drink prices vary depending on what night it is Friday a pint of lager was £2.20 but Saturday it was £2.85.
Shower block was large and clean, the only drawback was the showers could do with updating. The old push button fixed head showers with short curtains meant that there was not one square inch of dry floor to be found when your shower was finished.

Spent 2 nights here & that was too long.
Lots of children from the static caravan site congregate around the play park area at night & the noise goes on till the early hours of the morning.
The bar could be nice but the clientèle seem roughed & there was a feeling that we invaded their club.
Female toilets were dirty & apparently the showers are only cleaned on Thursdays.
The surrounding area is very nice, but won't be visiting this site again.

We visited the site over a weekend, unfortunately the weather was not great. The site seemed fine on arrival, the staff were friendly enough and allowed us to swap the pitch we were first allocated, however we now wished we had stayed on the first pitch, as on the Saturday evening around 10 - 11 o'clock a leather football was being kicked against the play park fence. Although there were signs to say the park closed at 10pm we were disappointed that a warden did not come around the site to stop noisy and dis-respectful behaviour.
The toilet facilities were excellent.
Lots and lots of children from the static caravans were always around the front area of the site. The play park was a hit by our daughter.
Due to the miserable weather conditions we did not venture very far, so can not comment on the area.

Spent 3 nights here and impressed, toilet and shower facilities highest standard, nice large pitch sizes, didn't try on site bar etc but can imagine it busy on weekends, we went midweek and very quiet, suits us.
Poor directions to pitch though, must be 25 or so pitches and on arrival given directions by reception to pitch number which are not clearly marked and you are not accompanied or assisted to your pitch.
Will return though. Morpeth 10 mins. Drive which has all you need, canny meal in the local pub, the Shoulder of Mutton.

Just back from a weekend at this site & won't be returning. Pleasant grounds, handy location & easy drive-on pitches,
But rough clientèle, unprofessional staff & dirty facilities.
Toilets & showers went uncleaned for an entire weekend & there was no loo paper anywhere on the Sunday morning.
We felt quite uncomfortable in the clubhouse & retreated to our caravan.
You can stay until 2pm on the day of your departure. Really not recommended.

We visited Forget-Me-Not during our Easter holidays which it soon became apparent were earlier than the North East as our caravan was the only one on the touring field.
Access to the site was easy with just a couple of turns off the main road and the directions from the website were accurate.
We were very happy with the site and thought the toilet facilities were excellent - even our fussy 15 year old son was impressed which, believe me, is no mean feat!
The showers were the fixed head, push button type so were not adjustable but they were still very good. There were also 2 privacy cubicles in the ladies and everywhere was immaculately clean.
The chemical disposal point even had a sink with soap for hand washing after emptying.
Our 7 year old loved the play area which is situated at the corner of the touring field so you can easily keep an eye on little ones from the comfort of your caravan. We didn't go to the clubhouse but we didn't experience any noise from there either.
The site could do with a shop as the local one always seemed to be closed. We would recommend you buy supplies while you are out and about. There is a petrol station just off the first junction of the A1 below Forget-Me-Not which has a well stocked shop for essentials but it is about 10-15 mins drive away.
Newcastle is worth a visit, Mr Chappies & 2 sons went on the stadium tour of St James Park which we can heartily recommend. It cost £10 for adults and £7 for concessions for a 2 hour tour. You also get discount vouchers for the club shop and meals at Shearer's Bar where we had a late lunch that only ended up costing us £20 for 4 adult meals including a round of drinks. Parking in Newcastle is expensive though - approx £8 for 5 hours.
We really liked Morpeth and had a lovely meal at The Electrical Wizard (Wetherspoon's Pub). Carlisle Park there is lovely when the suns shines and has a play area, bowling, tennis and skate park.
Seahouses remains one of our favourite seaside places and we always go there for fish & chips when we're in the area.
We've been to this area a few times in the past and stayed at River Breamish CC site last time which was excellent but, all things considered, we would choose Forget-Me-Not for our next stay.
A great site which is well worth a visit.

Easy access from A697 'Wooler Road' through Northumberland. Access to pitch no problem with 7.5m motorhome. Pitches flat. Toilets were reasonable. Site is static orientated with lots of locals who appeared to know each other. Looks like it's being expanded - established parts of the park are very neat but the newer areas have a building site appearance. Couldn't find a dog walk. Club house OK. Lots of kids. No shop or papers for sale. OK for overnight stop if on the way to or from Scotland as it's out of the Tyneside conurbation and easy to find.

We had just picked our new caravan up from the dealers and wanted to get away somewhere, but not too far from home. Booked into Forget Me Not, and we weren't disappointed.
The pitch we were give was a full service pitch. After setting the van up decide we couldn't be bothered to cook, so trotted off to the bar. Food was homemade and fantastic.
Shower block and toilets were spotless.Everybody was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back in October. All though we were only an hour away from home the scenery was unbelievable. So much on your doorstep

The price for this site was £23 (2 Adults & 3 kids) was not too bad, we arrived after the reception was closed so had to check in a bar, left a deposit and was given a swipe card for barrier and one for toilet block and told our pitch. The pitches are marked out and all have hook up and water, okay in size and the grass was in good condition.
The site is very well maintained and toilet block, wash up area very good. There is a motorhome service point, but is not much use as the waste drain is in the top left hand corner, so you need a drainage pipe from motorhome to empty it.
The Club house for us was not the best as they have a children's room which is very noisy and we could not bare to sit in it and the bar does not allow children after 8 or 9, so we ended up sitting outside, they have a mobile food take away outside the club house selling the normal chips, burgers, hotdogs, a games room and tuck shop for the kids in the reception area.
The children's park is of good size and right next to the touring area and kept our children 7, 9 and 13 amused for a while. There is nothing in walking distance from this park but is ideal if you have a car for visiting the surrounding area.

My self and my wife visited this site with our two girls 10 and 15.We arrived on site about 6.30pm Friday evening. We checked in which was quick and painless and was directed to our grass pitch which which was in great condition in fact looking around the site I thought it was well maintained. The toilet and shower block were spotless and yes the showers I had were with hot water although my wife said hers was cold.
We normally try to go on a site that has a club house and a bar with entertainment which forget me not does which I have to say was the only thing that lets this site down. There are two rooms THE BAR which is a large room with a large tv and a pool table. THE ENTERTAINMENT room was much smaller and full of people that must use this as there local each week so watch where you sit.The entertainment was awful unless you like listening to drunks on a kareoke machine.
The rest of the site is lovely though and is perfect for visiting anwick castle which is beautiful and very interesting.Holy island is another lovely place to go or even just exploring the surrounding countryside which this site is perfect for.
