This was our first time camping, so we bought a brand new tent and new everything, they say you learn
After a 2.5 hr journey from Devon we arrived at the campsite at around 7.45pm and went into the reception we were greeted by 3 very friendly and welcoming staff. As you know September was pretty cold and dark we were taken to the pitch we selected (no electrical) I know I didn't realise at the time and started to put up our tent.
We were told where everything was ie toilets, showers, if we have any concerns. That evening we were far from prepared we forgot the mallet, we had no food etc so we went into the kitchen area and found a Chinese leaflet which they do delivery food was great and arrived very quickly (recommended)
I was really apprehensive first time camping with the husband, a 5, 2 and a 7 month old who are far from quiet I was so worried they would not sleep and make lots of noise and annoy neighbours and if I needed to walk on the dark to take little ones to the toilet etc, kids being kids they did the staff assured me not to worry and to just enjoy the stay everyone including neighbours were very understanding infact they didn't take a blind bit of notice lol
In the morning I took all the children into the shower rooms which were exceptionally clean and warm there is cleaning products mop etc for you to clean cubicle when you finish which I thought was nice.
The children then played in the lovely park while we cooked breakfast, there was a picnic table right outside our tent which was great. We kept all our equipment in a very tidy room.
We stayed at the park as my son is really into Thomas, we usually go center parcs but I cannot wait to come back this year when we get some nice weather, I think its the staff that make you feel so welcome and the children love it there, at night you feel so safe as the wardens walk around so there is always someone there if you need anything :)
Improvident - now I am being very picky hmmm sometimes as stated above the basins look messy as the water does come out taps fast but its not dirty at all.
Maybe the showers could be a little hotter only because I'm use to having them hot but then I suppose you have to be careful because of the children
If you are planning on going camping I really do recommend this site, we went when it was cold we had no electrical hook up, we arrived and put a tent up in the dark I had to heat up water in the middle of the night outside the tent using the gas but we still had a fantastic time so next time we go we will learn from our mistakes I'm really looking forward to coming back in the summer

We are fairly new to camping and this is only the 3rd site we have used.
The site is well maintained, neat and tidy. We received a lovely welcome from the owners who were always bobbing about on site keeping on top of things. There is a children's playground which kept my 6 year old entertained for the odd half hour here and there.
We arrived at about 3pm and found all the facilities to be lovely and clean. Plenty of toilets and free showers. The shower cubicles are very spacious and roomy enough to shower with children. There is also a family bathroom which we did not use.
Undercover dishwashing area next to playground. Also, a washer and dryer available at a charge. We were able to freeze our ice blocks for 50p per block. Personally, I thought this a bit steep, don't know what other sites charge, but prefer to pay the charge than not have the facility available.
There is a folder with local restaurant / takeaway menus. We ordered Chinese for delivery to the campsite which was handy and the food ok.
We received a 20% discount at the drayton manor hotel restaurant. Even with this discount, we thought the food was expensive for what you got. However, after setting up it was nice and relaxing to just wander up the road to the hotel for tea, and the waiter who served us was brilliant, so friendly, helpful and welcoming !
The only niggles we had with the site are as follows,
Washing up sinks are quite low and I had to stoop a bit.
The water pressure at the hand basins in the ladies loos creates a lot of splashing. There are no paper towels provided so you cannot wipe away the splashes when you have finished. So although technically clean, the wash basin area tended to look messy with splashes. I did use loo roll to wipe around, but obviously not many others did.
It would be nicer if the tracks between the rows of pitches were smoother, at the moment they are quite dusty and stony.
I would prefer paper towels to be provided in the wash up area too, so that people can clean up a bit better after themselves if they will. Food left in plug holes after busy times of day, but this is down to the customers. The facilities were all thoroughly cleaned each day.
Huge field for ball games and dog walking.
We would use this site again. Was unsure whether to mark this site as 8 or 9 out of 10 as we have little experience of other sites for comparison.

Spent a week on this site had a great time. Showers/toilets and dish washing area was very clean. In fact the whole site was clean no litter very well looked after. The wardens were lovely the nicest we came across made you very comfortable and they obviously very much loved their jobs and the site. They were also brilliant with our children aged 2 & 5 even gave me paper from the printer of them to draw on as I had colouring books etc but not plain paper, the extra touches is what count. Our children had a great time in park they had wooden vehicles which went down well. Pitches quite flat. I heard the are planning to Tarmac the roads. We also used the park at the back of the hotel. Small shop on site not open all day but very reasonably priced. I would go back to this site pitches were a good size which are done on a first come first served basis. Basically choose which pitch you want from the ones available when arrive. Lots of days out to choose from in the area not just Drayton manor.

Lovely Aug BH stay :) 4 units - tents, caravan & folding camper. Wardens tried hard to site us together, but impossible due to variety of units & EHU / non-EHU. We were close enough though.
Kids loved the park (ages 3-9), and really made use of massive games field. We even ventured to the nice park behind the hotel without problems.
Toilets & washing up facilities great & spotless. Hot water is HOT so bring washing up gloves. Couple more sinks a bit higher up wouldn't go amiss. Family bathroom available which we didn't use.
Wardens helpful when we were disturbed by noisy early risers. Some noise still at midnight, but nothing which prevented sleeping.
Drayton Manor was a good day out. We used Tesco points for day 1 & then bought return tickets in park for day 2. Thought staff in DM needed some customer service training! No problems at all with C&CC staff though :)
Enjoyed fish & chips in Fazeley (turn left out of DM). Tesco express was low on stock, but Asda on Ventura park had everything we needed.
We will definitely return. :)

Stayed here for Four nights over the late May school holidays. Campsite is clean and well kept, the wardens are fantastic. The site has an open feel to it which means the wind tends to blow across at times but as one of the wardens mentioned it's that that keeps the ground well drained ! can't argue with that.
400 yds is the entrance to Drayton manor park which is what we were there for in the first place. The 'Grill Inn' is nearby but quite expensive and the 'Drayton park Hotel' which is very expensive. A 20 minute walk and you are into Fazeley a small town on a crossroads with a shop and 4-5 food places. Indian, chinese and a chippy, a pub round the corner a think called the plough does decent food and is family friendly.
My only complaint is that there is no pedestrian walkway between the site and the entrance to Drayton Manor Park. You are left to walk along a grass verge as cars either hammer it into the park first thing in the morning or rush to try and get out at 5pm'ish. I'm not normally one to moan but sooner or later there will be an accident and it was a worry to us especially with a pushchair

We stayed here during the May half term, this was our first ever stay at a caravan club site and we were very impressed. The wardens are extremely friendly and even gave our young son a small Thomas book on arrival, this made his day as we were there to visit Thomas land!
The facilities on site are brilliant and aimed at families, the kids play area is very good although unfortunately the weather was too wet for our son to use it. The family bathroom made camping with a toddler a lot easier, and the tumble dryer was an absolute god send given the amount of rain we had whilst there!
We ate in The Grill inn which is outside the entrance to the theme park and a short stroll from the campsite. The food was ok but there was not a lot of choice on the menu and we felt it was rather pricey. Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time for our food and then when given the bill at the end we had been charged twice for one of our meals. There is a village just a couple of minutes drive away, if we stay here again then we would get something to eat there rather than eating on site.
We would definitely recommend this site, staying here has made us seriously consider joining the caravan and camping club!

This site is one of the best we have ever been to the wardens a re wonderful and really do make this site what it is. Fantastic.
The play park on site is great for children and hours spent hours there despite the cold.
The shower block is always spotlessly clean but freezing cold as there is no heating for some unknown reason :( The elsan point and the water points are also spotless (actually the whole site is )
Lots of improvements on site since our visit last year the play park being just one.
Drayton Manor park is a short walk away but you are not far from the national Arboretum and the National Forest

Our first C&CC experience as visitors and we were so impressed that we joined the Club. We had the friendliest welcome imaginable and all weekend the warden and his assistants would engage us in conversation and offer us advice on where to go and things to do. They always had a friendly wave and a smile when they passed. They are truly a credit to the Club.
We were parked on hardstanding right next to a water and waste point. The facilities block was immaculate at all times of the day with huge shower cubicles (approximately 6 in both the ladies and the gents). There was plenty of hot water but some heating in the block itself would have been nice.
The Grill restaurant at Drayton Manor gives a 10% discount to campers staying at the site and the restaurant at the hotel gives 20% discount. A 15/20 minute stroll around the back of the Drayton Manor zoo takes you to the main road where you can catch the bus into Tamworth. It takes about 10 minutes by bus to the town centre and a taxi back cost us just under £6. There are some nice bars and restaurants so it was nice not to have to take the car. Fazeley village itself had several restaurants and take aways too and they will deliver to the site so there is no shortage of options if you don't feel like cooking. We were attending the Caravan Show at the NEC which is approximately 20 minutes away by car.
We wouldn't hesitate to visit this site again and I would recommend it to anyone.

WE have returned from this site this weekend and can only say good things about it. The toilet and shower facilities are spanking new although a little heating wouldn't go amiss. The site is very open but tree planting around the edge will improve this in a few years time. It couldn't be better positioned for the theme park which is a 5 minute walk away but it's also ideal for having a look around the area. We tried the grill restaurant near the main entrance and although its a little pricey it was worth it for the quality and presentation. We would definitely return again.

Terrific site. All the facilities that you could want are there and well maintained. Playground is mostly built and I guess will not be long before its certified and open.
We had a non-electric grass pitch at the top end of the field. Not far to walk, but far enough away for absolute peace and quiet. We prefer to avoid EHU as it tends to bring background mumbling of TVs - even when they are turned down.
I have have to say a special thank you for the wardens on the site - they were extremely welcoming and helpful. We hadn't visited the theme park before and they gave us maps, vouchers and pointed at few things to us. You got the feeling they were proud of teh site and took good care of it.
On our day in the themepark we opted to go to the new Drayton hotel or grill inn for evening meal as we were shattered from the park. We went to the hotel (nicer atmosphere) and had a meal on the terrace as the weather was so lovely. It was the bar menu but enough choice and really surprisingly good. Service was very friendly and warm if a little bit chaotic - clearly staff new to service and needed a bit more confidence which I'm sure will come. Importantly they were friendly and tried hard which will translate into a great service over time.
(I only put 7/10 for value as we aren't CCC members and got a surcharge roughly equivalent to an extra person)
