Just returned from 4 days at this site, overall I was impressed but the site was very poorly signposted and the route down to the campsite is incredibly steep with a trailer it was a bit harsh.
When I booked in I asked about staying for the weekend (an extra 2 nights as I was leaving Friday) she said come back in Thursday to make sure I liked the site. I went up to meet staff and they told me where to pitch which was just outside the toilet block which was noisy but nothing too bad. Lovely views and polite staff. Toilet facilities were great and even had a parent and child room which was locked (get key from reception) which had baby bath changing bits ect. Camp was kept very clean and tidy.
When I went back Thursday to book the weekend it was fully booked which was a bit disappointing but never mind
Overall I had a great time, beautiful scenery, lovely walks, clean toilets and polite staff

We have just had a lovely weekend at this site. The facilities are clean and warm and the site is well cared for, with very pretty floral displays. The pitches are a good size and the wardens are very friendly and helpful.
There are lovely views of the sea and beach from the site and we had a very pleasant stroll along the beach in to Folkestone, which took about 30-40 mins. There is a restaurant in the Harbour (Rocksalt), several fish and chip shops and a few small pubs.
Samphire Hoe, a nature reserve, is a short drive away and the Battle of Britain Museum is nearby.
This was our second visit and we will definitely book again.

This was a unique site cut into the cliff, the road down to the site was steep and uneven, definitely don't arrive before time as it would be difficult for 2 Motorhomes to pass. It is a lovely well kept site overlooking the sea. The wardens were very friendly and we were shown to our pitch. We were there for 3 days and the site was very busy. It is 2 mins to the sea, sandy beach when the tide goes out. There are paths running along the edge of the sea both ways and you can let dogs loose. We went into Folkestone but were not impressed, The supermarket is about 5 mins away. The site is lovely and worth going to but the surrounding area was not so good.

What can I say perfect site ideal location. Very clean and well kept the warden was very helpful and gave us all the information that we needed. A lovely walk into Folkestone, 30 mins ish the site is on the beach more or less. Showers and toilets kept clean and water hot. I can understand why no caravans the approach road is narrow and steep hence the reason they ask you not to arrive till after 12 oclock I assume, to enable the units to leave without causing congestion. Shop only open a few hours and not lots of stock but ok for emergencies. Will certainly go again.

We were pleased we could be squeezed in over the Mayday bank holiday following a last minute booking - and a squeeze it was, busy site and a large tent! The warden was extremely helpful in getting us onto the pitch we were allocated and all fitted, just! Opposite one of the toilet blocks which was well maintained, light and warm. Family room in the block was an added bonus.
The location of the campsite is great, down a windy lane from the East Cliff in Folkestone you get almost onto the beach before the campsite appears and this means you feel in a quite secluded spot - away from the hurly burly of life up top. The beach is just a short stumble and our young children enjoyed paddling, collecting stones and chasing about on the beach. Low tide reveals the sands and we found a few fossils too. The Folkestone - Dover train line runs above the site and while you can hear the trains go by they are not intrusive.
Being a relative local and having travelled from Ashford I know the harbour at Folkestone pretty well - great for seafood, jellied eels and rollmops if that is your thing. Sandy beaches, ice cream stalls and the artsy shops of the old high street. A bit further away (although walkable from the harbour) is the fantastic lower leas park with a huge play area and cafe - past the Hotel Burstin, Leas Lifts and keep walking. Fish and chips aplenty too, although avoid the 'posh one' run by Rocksalt (the fancy restaurant perched on the harbours edge) - the more traditional fish and chips next door is better value and better quality!
The site is a little pricey maybe, so if you are a member of the camping and caravan club it does make it cheaper - you can join when you arrive / before you leave and get your discount refunded if you like. But with all these things you do get what you pay for. A lovely location, well kept pitches, electric hookup, clean toilets, friendly faces.

The 6 Metre Rule!
Been to The Warren at Folkestone back in 2010 with same friends, on that occasion we were charged two pitch fees yet it was only one pitch. Had to walk up some steps to the pitch but had wonderful views. No 6 metre rule on this occasion as tents close together.
On our return we were down the bottom in the circular area on pitches 37 and 38. We pitched no issues, helped our friends to pitch then told by the warden to turn the tent around, said to the warden ‘are you being serious’ to which he replied have to have 6 metres between pitches due to fire regulations. We duly lifted and moved the tent, it made no difference as on one side they had a grass bank and the other there were both our cars between their pitch and our one. We had less than 6 metres between our tent and the other tent of which the warden put the little tent there after we had pitched. I was standing and watching to be told ‘Can I help you?’ I said that doesn’t look like 6 metres to which I got no reply!
Issues continued: - We had four families all with children and their tents and a large gazebo were less than 6 metres apart. They had no respect for others around. They sat around till 1am when they finally went quiet. At twenty past midnight we asked them to be quiet and turn the music off. They also had a fire pit which is not permitted, notices clearly displayed around the campsite.
We mentioned this to the warden the following morning and asked about the cut off point for noise and were told it is 11pm although no mention of this on the leaflet that is handed out on arrival or around the campsite. (Most sites have a curfew of 1030/11pm) he had obviously had a word as they were very quiet the 2nd night and when we all returned back to the site the kids stopped playing football and they retired to bed by 2230. However they still had the fire pit in use on the 2nd night.
We would return as in general a good site with lovely views and a beach within a few minutes’ walk away and a lovely cliff walk into Folkestone which takes about ½ hour. One small issue, for the size of the campsite there are only 4 ladies and 4 gents’ showers, however they are kept very clean. The road has been improved to the site since last there.

Deep Joy, This is a lovely site, friendly welcome,
Beautiful views, nice walks down to the beach with our dawg, we went here in June it was busy but not packed in like sardines.
The toilet block was immaculate, spacious, lovely.
This was our first trip in our camper, people very friendly a wonderful trip.
If you have a choice of where to pitch, preferable to go on the side where the sea is as you get the sunshine for longer.
For people with tents there are lovely terraced areas overlooking the sea.
The only bad point was the horrible track on the way in, full of potholes so beware!
There are lots of nice places to go, we visited Hythe where the canal runs through, very pleasant.

A perfect site if you want peace and quiet, immaculately clean and tidy, only a two minute walk to the beach which is perfect for dog walking. The pitch was a nice size but a bit muddy with electric hook up( waste and water were about 200 yards away)
The down points were it had quite a rugged road to get to it with lots of potholes which managed to rip the water tank off the bottom of our small camper. A tiny little shop and reception but this time we wanted peace and quiet so this was fine.
We paid about £30 for one night and thought this a bit much for what was on offer.

Been to this site regularly since about 1970. Most recent visit shows prices have rocketed. Still one of the best sites in the UK. I will never tire of scrambling across the chalky cliffs chasing the many rabbits. Lots of emotional memories from the Warren. Hope it remains forever unspoiled. Campers facilities well looked after. Secluded pitches up a level from the main site still the same as they were forty years ago. Public (non-campers) facility outside the barrier is not so well looked after.

This is a really great little site, it really is only a 2 minute walk from the beach.
After we had negotiated the really bad road down to the site, the staff were great and gave us a choice of pitches.
As usual the showers and toilets were nice and warm and always clean.
However don't be fooled by the stated 1/2 mile walk to a bus stop, it's up a long steep hill, and once you get there you might as well walk the rest of the way into Folkstone as it's all downhill from then.
We didn't explore Folkstone much, because we caught the bus into Dover, but the harbour area is ok, good chip shop and lots of fresh fish available.
Would we go again? definitely!
