Phoned before hand and was greeted by a polite friendly voice, she gave me great directions to the site, the site was easy to find and were welcomed by helpful staff, a lovely site with lovely veiws of the beach and sea, with great easy access to the beach and cliffs, definatly worth a re-visit.

Excellent little'ish site. Very well looked after with good clean facilities. The "no late night noise (after 11pm)" policy was adhered to by all - hurrah. By the sea and a secluded beach (about 200 ydrs away - pebbles only), with fishing off a large old sea defence. Can be tricky to find, if you do not spot the C&CC signs. Highly recommened. (as is Dover Castle for a visit).

May 2005 Beautiful location almost at foot of cliffs, but if you fancy an evening pint or glass of wine you need to be seriously fit to get to the top of the cliff and the nearest hostelry. Approximately three quarters of an hour constantly moving uphill over some very steep sections means your quaffing ability may no longer match your wallet. I'm sorry to relate that we got a taxi back, but the fiver including tip was in no way begrudged.
Site was immaculate, and wardens (sorry c&cc) very helpful. £5.00 deposit secures your own key for the toilets. No access to beach directly from site but we were informed that it was not far.
We would go again but next time we will have to take a taxi both ways.

April 2005 Excellent site right next to beach -from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for the managers. They all made us very welcome. The site was immaculate, the toilets pristine, and the local knowledge was first rate. We would all recommend this one, lovely sea views, and lots to do nearby.

March 2004 Rushed down as soon as this site was opened.spent 4 days - 3 weeks a couple of years ago BEFORE was refurbished.school holiday times, is a different place. Wonderful for dogs - super beach and cliff walks. C & CC Sites are not really intended for children to find all their entertainment - there is rarely a Clubhouse. What you pay for here, is adjacent to beach, and sea views. No traffic noise - you can watch the sea all day at the comings and goings of the ferries, and people fish from the beach too.when it is quiet, it is one of my favourite of all places. Always pays to become a member - paid for in a couple of nights savings.

Aug 2004 I found this site very over crowded, pitches spaced 6 metres apart but that was before gazebos/cars/awnings etc so you seem pretty packed in to a very small site. Toilets & showers were very clean though & washing up sinks were cleaned & inspected often. The beach near the site wasnt very nice either, all stones & quite alot of litter & local teenagers riding motorcycles up & down. I wouldn't recomend this site as i prefer something abit more quiet & spacious.

End August 2003 We stayed only one night at this campsite and wished it had been longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the toilet block spotless and site itself very neat. It was also very convenient for the beach and Shepway Air Show.
I would say it is not the most child friendly site I've been to, (no ball games) but the kids still found plenty to do which largely involved climbing the chalky banks on site and playing in the woods. (Large amounts of clothes washing required afterwards.)
All in all a nice clean friendly site with reasonable access to the beach (shingle and sand)and not too far from the town.

August 2003 The site wardens were brilliantly helpful, and always cheerful.
The site is right next to the sea, but away from the town itself, and felt quite secluded. There is plenty of room for pitching.
I suppose I'm biased as its the first campsite for a few years!!

May 2003 Although a CCC site, it welcomes non-members. Set on the cliff tops, the site is well maintained. The toilet blocks were kept scrupulously clean, and water readily to hand.
No caravans are allowed on site, due to the narrow and steep access road, but motorhomes and tents are OK.
The site is very handy for Folkelstone, which is in reasonable walking (pub staggering) distance, but the best feature of the site are the cliff top walks and access to the beach.
When we visited, the welcome was very friendly, and because it is a CCC site no other pitches encroached. The site was very popular at the time of our visit and I would recommend booking in advance.
