Just been to this site, facilities were brilliant, showers toilets and washing up were all immaculate.
The wardens were brilliant and very helpful and all the people staying were very friendly.
My only problem, maybe big to some people. But there were a lot of rats at the site, where we were must have been near to the nest as they kept coming out at dusk and through the night you could hear them gnawing things! We kept all our stuff in the car not in the tent porch so was ok, just had to make sure no food or rubbish was left near the tent.
Would stay again however as was such a beautiful location with amazing views over the channel.

Felt I had to comment owing to the mixed reviews for this site. Don't rely on first impressions! I admit, on arrival it REALLY didn't look promising - the estates on the outskirts of Folkestone, really dodgy approach road (beware if you have a shiny new motor home) and apparently mainline railway line running straight past the site made me wonder what we'd done. However, a 9 hour drive, excited kids and a paid deposit meant we headed on in. It DID look crowded, but we were shown to a more than adequate pitch and, once set up, the appeal of the place became clear.
Pitches are arranged in little groups and we were put with people who had kids of a similar age - a nice touch which meant they made friends instantly. Who needs a plaground? The whole site is one! It LOOKED as if an effort had been made to put younger children at the end of the site where through traffic was less - again, brownie points! Yes, tents are a little bit close, prob about 5 rather than 6m apart, but everyone was quiet at night so no probs. Plenty of fire points, clean facilities and very pleasant staff.
The site is perfectly placed for the beach (my 20 month old could happily toddle there unassisted), and don't be put off by the concrete at one end - at the other is lovely, gently shelving shingly sand ideal for kids and - bonus - rocks to explore at bottom tide. Beautiful setting on the cliffs - of course there's no phone reception, you are 3/4 of the way down a chalk cliff, how would the signal get there?! We never once heard a train. Yes, kids do sleep on the beach but bagged up all their rubbish, were very civil and no problem at all. There was a little noise late on Saturday night, but no swearing, it wasn't threatening and wouldn't put me off, and I am a protective mum of 2 toddlers.
Do be warned the reception/mini shop doesn't open til 9, so best buy your milk at night and put in water to keep cool! If you fish, take your rod - my other half gazed wistfully at those who had all week. Wash up room now shuts at 9.30pm. Perfect site for a tenting or campervan family with tiny kids who want a no frills bucket and spade holiday on a clean and friendly site - and Folkestone was no more run down than many other, very popular, seaside resorts. Pubs and shops are a fair way off, but there are some good takeways you'll pass on the way in and a big Sainsbury's nearby. Enjoy!

Second visit to the Warren so we knew what to expect - First time we came Oct 08, stunning, this time a little different. In the peak season of July the site is packed and on balance too packed as the facilities simply cant cope.
The pitches for tents vary from good to brilliant- the very best are those directly overlooking the sea on an elevated section of the site which separates you from the crush of the rest.
The overall location remains superb with easy access to the beach offering long walks around the headland.
Avoid Folkestone, its a complete dump.
The Warren still remains one of the best campsites on the south coast and out of season its superb. To get the best out of this site avoid July/Aug- too crowded

Our first ever camping trip fairly close to home. Very friendly owners explained everything to us. We stayed at end of site sheltered by trees and nearish loo block. Other bits a bit more open (and breezy) with great sea views, but tents and motorhomes did seem a bit packed in there.
Facilities excellent - really clean and always free! Nice washing dishes bit too.
Lots of dogs on site, but all owners were responsible and kept dogs on leads.
Only downside for us was as the site is just next to the beach (which is lovely) BUT there were a lot of kids getting v drunk and shouting/arguing/swearing on the beach from about 10pm to 2am. My daughter was able to repeat some of the colourful language the next morning!
There seemed to be a teepee for rent just up from the campsite that the noise/people were coming from. Some broken glass on beach walkway and next morning lots of rubbish.
Not sure how often this happens during the summer as not sure about rules for random people camping on the beach?
Site lovely though, kids loved it too and made lots of friends.
We know the area, so know to stay out of Folkestone! (V run down - again full of groups of loudly swearing kids (not a prude, but a few choice words at 10am next to my 4 year old on a previous trip was enough really!)
Hythe is quaint - nice High St and there is a Waitrose there. Great little mini railway worth a go to Dymchurch.
Lovely beach at Sandgate. (Park on Castle Road or Radnor Cliff Road and walk down - you don't get so many people there).
Howletts Zoo not too far away is also great day out.

Just come back from a 3 night stay over the Easter Break. This is a great campsite - zero complaints. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This was the first time we have been camping and we had a large tent on a perfect pitch. Level ground with a sea view. The campsite was very clean. Showers and loos - perfect. Loads of hot water and powerful showers. (all included in price - no extra tokens etc) No queing for any of the facilities. The beach is a minute walk away. We had stunning weather - it only rained once at night. For an introduction to camping I think we have come up trumps! I just hope any other sites we go to are just as good!

We really enjoyed our stay here in the windiest weather imaginable !
The site was fairly busy but we didn't feel crowded, staff were helpful on arrival and throughout. Location fantastic - we could see France and hear the sea. Children loved the beach - sand and rock pools. Lovely walks along the beach in the afternoons and evenings. Lots to do in the vicinity - we went to Folkestone (bit grotty)and Dover Castle - great day out.
Toilet/shower facilities were lovely and clean with limitless hot water and no queues.
No play area for the children but they were happy riding their bikes and scooters around the site.

We were very disappointed with this site, it was so bad we left within 10 mins of arriving & didnt even bother to ask for a refund. The road in was very overgrown, the motorhome got scratched (although the site doesn't own the road I do feel it should be cut back) We were all packed in very close and not sure what happened to the 6 metre rule. There weren't any views other than the people around you. I feel this site shouldn't be available to motorhomes and should accept half the amount of people they do. There was poor phone reception. I would imagine this is a very nice site if it was managed properly and spaced out better.

If you have read the other reviews and they sound good this one is going to add a note of caution. Unlike other C&CC club sites there is no spacing between units. In fact 3 tents opposite us had 12 inches at the most between them. When we arrived the manager offered us a choice of 3 pitches - one had someone's car parked on it, one was next to the toilets and washing up facilities and the third wasn't big enough for our tent and car. In fact a two man tent ended up being pitched on there and it was barely big enough. The manager had a couldn't care less attitude about whether there was enough room - we got the impression thay were squeezing people in regardless of whether there was room i.E there were six berth tents on pitches only big enough for 2 or 3 berths. However it should be noted that the motorhomes had the required 6m between pitches. It was however a busy Saturday in June - the other reviewers must have stayed at quieter times.
We ended up on the pitch next to the washing up facilities. At other C&CC sites you need to be organized - washing up facilities close at 9 or 10pm. Not at Folkestone, people were still washing up after 11 - at least I had my earplugs!
The plus points of this site; handy for ferries and most pitches have a seaview are cancelled out in my opinion by the terrible access road (you can see why they don't take caravans!), the overcrowding and the lack of toilets and showers (2 blocks with 2 showers each for 80+ pitches). As other reviewers have pointed out there are no facilities for children and the beach is covered in concrete blocks. It's the worst C&CC site I've ever stayed on and I wouldn't go back if you paid me.

A really nice quiet site. Set at the bottom of the impressive white cliffs of the Warren and right next to the beach. The entrance to the road to the site is quite easy to miss (look out for the Martello Tower!) and the road itself is narrow and bumpy but well worth the effort once you get to the site.
There is not a play area for children but my son and several other children were quite happy climbing up and down the chalky slopes. The toilets and showers were very clean and modern, good dishwashing facilities as well. The site was quite busy but we had a pitch right at the end and did not feel too cramped, though the pitches were quite close together and maybe if the site were completely full you might feel a bit too close to the neighbours.
This is a camping and caravan club site so as non-members there is a £6 a night fee to pay, but as membership is only £35 a year we will consider joining as this site is close to home and one we will certainly return to.

Excellent! Great facilities, very clean. Great location, right on the coast, nothing sounds better then the waves crashing on the beach at night. Convenient for Folkestone town centre, which has a few pubs etc. I definitely recommend this place.
