We have just returned from our 12th visit to Trefalun which really says it all! Although we are a bit old fashioned in our preferences- tent and peace and quiet-
the helpful and welcoming proprietors always accommodate us in a site which has been updated to modern expectations and for families and none the worse for that.
The site is always maintained to a very high standard and all facilities are kept clean and tidy and we find the showers etc give adequate time--and prevent any queuing.
The tent pitches are generally level and well drained, mown regularly and the cuttings collected-good when it's wet but generally we have enjoyed good weather here.
This is a great location for exploring Tenby and the many surrounding tourist attractions and the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and countryside.
We thoroughly recommend Trefalun

Just returned from our second visit to Trefalun (please see our review from last year) The site was even better as the owners have now tarmaced the roads and have provided picnic benches on most pitches. Toilets etc still clean and tidy. Playground still great.
Went to Blue Lagoon fun pool on a rainy day which was expensive (35 for family of 4) but the kids enjoyed it. Fishing now 12 but caught literally hundreds of mackerel.
Still a highly recommended site and we hope to return in future.

We visited this site for SBH week with 2 other families and had a great time - the gloriously sunny weather helped!
As previously mentioned, nice pitches (we all had superpitches with water connections and 16 amps - would highly recommend)although getting on was a bit tight due to the units opposite. The warden actually reversed our friends twin axle onto their pitch as it was so tight and he then proceeded to level the 'van, connect the water and waste and the electrics - now that's service! They were half expecting him to empty the loo for them when the time came but no such luck!
Great playground although our son did break his arm there when knocked over by the swing onto the very hard ground beneath - be warned the nearest A&E department is in Havordfordwest about 40 mins drive away.
We were rather disappointed with the showers - we all needed 40p each time, the water wasn't always very warm and it couldn't be adjusted so not great for young children although there is a baby room for tiny tots. The facilities were very clean though. Another gripe was that you also had to pay 20p for hot water in the laundry room and got the same 4 minutes as in the showers. This ticked away even when not running the water so made hand washing quite difficult.
Lots to do in the area, easy walk to Heatherton Country Park, sea fishing from Tenby was great fun for £10 each and you get to keep your catch, Saundersfoot Beach is lovely with ample parking.
All in all we would recommend Trefalun but you need to add a couple of pounds per night to the already not-cheap pitch price if you have a family to shower.

Site facilities as described elsewhere. 20p for showers and all appeared clean.
Tent pitches appear to have been relocated to the centre of the site, although that's because we asked for hookup. Touring caravans at the bottom so possibly in response to historic comments about lower field. Park owner seems a bit over zealous with regards space between pitches (5m min between adjacent setups), our tent would not be accepted in high season.
Location ideal for Tenby and wider Pembrokeshire area - access possible from 2 adjacent main roads. Park in good condition, and with table football and table tennis (cast stone tables).
No shop, but van apparently comes round, Tesco in Pembroke, or Sainsbury in Tenby.

Excellent site, very well maintained, we had a super pitch with hard stand and higher amp, first site we have stayed on where electrics did not trip once regardless of how many items were in use. Also the addition of mains water connection and waste water drainage made the week stay much easier. Excellent extras for a very good price.
The site also offers standard pitches which were of a very good standard and the site also has lower prices for lower seasons.
The facilities are the best I have seen, very clean and everything you would need. Would recommend collecting your 20p for the shower prior to going, but it is more than worth the 20p for the clean and spacious showers provided. Even area outside shower with bench for personal belongings and easy changing. Managed to shower myself and two toddlers with plenty of space. My husband even commented that it is the first site where he did not mind going the chemical disposal since they were very clean and built for the purpose. There was even a separate clean sink and handwash next to the chemical disposal.
The playground is paradise for children of any age. Plenty of different apparatus and even a zipwire, table tennis, football table and football pitch area in addition to your usual slide and swings. In addition to this you have the use of a very good pathway around the caravan site and neighbouring site for a nice walk and bike ride. There are facilities at the neighbouring site, club house and pool which are available at peak season.
The site is situated very close to Heatherton, Manor House Park and Dinosaur Park, much less than 5 mins to Dinosaur park which is furthest away. Very close to tenby and saundersfoot as well as Manobier. A very central location and close to all main routes, even main road to Pembroke Dock.
The owners were very welcoming, and they have a pony and rabbits on site. There is no shop but we were asked if we wanted a morning paper on arrival and did not find we missed a shop at all. In fact it may be a positive with children in tow.
We really enjoyed our stay at Trefulan and were welcomed on the site and are looking forward to returning very soon.

Great site, really well run, lovely sized pitch. Play area for kids is pure genius, I didn't see mine till 10 each night. Very helpful as well with bbq stands to borrow etc (for a fiver deposit).
My only issue was the distance to the toilets, why are the tent pitches always the furthest from the loos? Will definitely go back and the fact there was no shop was just a bonus!

Third visit to Trefalun and the only thing negative to say is the awful weather we experienced.
This site is fantastic and very child friendly. We keep going back because our four children love the site.
Pitches are fairly flat and the toilet/shower facilities are spotlessly clean. Showers are 20p for 4 minutes. Some people may be put off by this but having just returned from a site that did not charge for showers- I can see where my 20p is spent !
There is a great children's play area where our kids spend most of their time when on site. There are also rabbits and a donkey on site.
The owners are friendly and helpful and on site throughout the day.
This is an ideal base for visiting the delights of Pembrokeshire and is only a few miles from Tenby and Saundersfoot.
Large Tesco at Pembroke Dock about 10 minutes away in car.
We visited in July and it rained every day. Most campsites are not their best in bad weather and as on a slight hill, the bottom camping grounds do become water logged. Whilst we were there the owners were phoning people to cancel them as the pitches were sodden.
If you get the weather this site is near perfect.

We have just had a week at this campsite. We found this site to be really well located for Tenby or Saundersfoot. We also found a pretty good beach nearer to the site (Manabeir) which was better if you like the waves. Tenby beaches were our favorite for sunbathing and general beach activities/sancastles etc. Just because they're so big with loads of room for everyone. We got some great weather on our stay.
The site itself is just the right size in my opinion. The children made friends straight away and the park has a really decent park with a football pitch also.
The showers cost 20p for 4 mins, I found I needed 40p but the boy's and husband were fine with 20p (they have less hair to wash I suppose!). Best to save some 20's if you can, makes life easier (we didn't save any and ended rooting about every evening for 20's!).
There is a laundry which costs £2 for a wash (25 min cycle) and dryers which are 20p per 6 minute.
The children were sad to leave as this site has such a nice feel to it.
My only gripe would be that we were a little bit too close to our neighbours. I think we were in the busiest area to be fair, I think there was more spacious pitches further along.
All in all an excellent holiday was had and we would definitely return.

Had a lovely weekend here. Facilities very clean. Playground stunning flat and well maintained. Shower block very clean, lovely hot water for showers and wash dishes. Baby room is lovely with a radiator (worth nipping up hour before bathing your little one to turn it on though). Nice dog walking field. Owner polite and helpfull. So near to heathtons, wild life park, tree tops walks, ten mins from tenby town and beach and about twenty mins to fab car boot sale and large tesco's. Will be going back there.

After reading previous reviews regarding drainage, when booking we asked not to be put on the bottom field. However on arrival we were shown to the bottom field by the owner. He told us these were the pitches for non-electric visitors. We spent most of the 2 weeks on our own on the field, others came & went & most left earlier than planned The heavy rain made the already waterlogged field most unpleasant, even walking to & from our vehicle was like sinking into mud. The owner asked us not to park next to our tent, but over 20 yards away instead on a muddy hardstanding. After a few days our pitch reeked of rotting sileage! Yuk.
OK - now the good bits. The site is well laid out, spotless toilet & washing up/laundry facilities. Plenty of hot water, good play area. Great position for visiting Tenby & local attractions. Shame no shop, but a van visits every morning with basics. Sadly we won't be returning as we feel this site pampers to the caravans and just tolerates tenters.
