Stayed here for a number of weeks in March and the staff are very helpful. Toilet and shower blocks impeccable with the pitches well spaced out. Had a lovely stay here highly recommended. Good location for local walks to villages along the river trent. Two pubs in the village one just outside the site on the river trent the other in the village itself serving good ales and fine food.

Lovely site, backdrop of trees and hedges, lots of seasonal flower tubs neatly cared for, spot on facilities, clean and freshly painted, everything has been thought of for convenience and comfort. Well organised and helpful, friendly staff. Access is by a coded barrier. There are two pubs which serve food as well in walking distance ( one is at the top of a steep hill) also a little shop, near the hill pub, walks nearby including by the river Trent. We saw a bus stop across the road from site entrance but didn’t investigate further. There is work going on to extend the site but this is not really affecting the site too much at the moment. The site is convenient for Normanby Hall and good shopping centres. WiFi is included in pitch fee. Heating in the toilet and shower blocks morning and evening. Adults only site

Visited site in September. The site was great. The toilets and showers were immaculate. Good dog walk and good pubs nearby serving good food and beer. The only fly in the ointment was we were asked to take down our Union Jack flag which we flown on every site we have visited for the last 15 years with no problems.

A well thought out site. Our pitch was of a good size, enough space for the awning and motorhome on the hardstanding, and the bonus of some grass that we could sit out on. There were hegdes between adjacent pitches and the next row of pitches were off set so we were not overlooked. The water and CDU were central and close enough for us to use our hose pipe. There is also a motorhome point so we could fill up on arrival and empty the gray on leaving.
The owners were friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean, 3 toilets in the ladies and 2 showers as well as a private sink. The showers were of a good size, one in the ladies had adjustable heat control and could be moved from the wall, where as the other was fixed and push button operation. There was a free to use washing machine and coin operated tumble dryer and iron. There is a pot wash and in that room are books and dvds to borrow.
We enjoyed the Ferry House pub and restaurant and recommend the Sunday carvery which it is advisable to book for. There is another pub nearby that serves food but is at the top of a steep hill so not suitable for all to walk there.
Lovely area with good walks nearby.
Site is easy to access and has PIN controlled barrier.
As many reviews state there is noise from nearby dogs, but we did not find this adversely affected our stay.

The site is really good, clean, helpful, friendly site, staff friendly and helpful, agree with other reviews, however, nobody mentioned the steep hill on a junction, its all right going down, its going back up, and its not disable friendly at all, If you rely on a scooter, forget it.
On the site you need to be doing either chilling out, or a walker, stunning walks if you're fit.
All area's made up with small pebbles. Areas good, the River Trent gives it an amazing views. Lovely place if you're able bodied, its brill, if you need a chair, or scooter, nightmare.

We have just spent 5 lovely days in our tent and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely welcome from the start followed by being shown the site facilities.
Yes I agree with the fact they do not have a freezer facility on site which a lot of sites do have so perhaps maybe a thought by the owners to get a small one for the tents who do not go on electric hook up to use so they can freeze their ice packs for their cooler box. We prefer to go on electric hookup so we purchased an electric cooler box as we got fed up of using ice packs to cool things down. Sites don't haggle on price so why ask, as someone I believe did try that!
The site is lovely and clean, well kept and nicely laid out. The 3 toilets, 4 sinks and 2 showers in the ladies were kept clean and tidy as were the 2 sink dish washing room and also the laundry room. The ladies also has a hairdryer to use which blows warm air rather than hot so takes a bit longer to dry my thick hair and it has music playing too which is nice. The laundry room has a washing machine, dryer and iron/board. The free wifi signal is not great. The dishwashing room has a selection of dvd, books and magazines for the campers to use and also has music playing.
Everyone seemed very friendly and the site is mainly quiet but yes there is some barking and I stress the word 'some' as it only sounded like 2 or 3 dogs.
The kennels are situated after about 10 houses from the campsite but nothing too dramatic to ruin your entire stay. They seemed to started barking around 7am (probably when they were being fed) and it seemed to fade off around 7:30am and there was most definite nothing through the night at all. To be fair we did not hear them on our first morning but it is August which is a very busy time for holidaymakers to take their dogs to kennels.
To be fair to the kennel owners when we were out walking we noticed several of the houses along there had loud deep barking dogs so it could of been their dogs barking and not the kennels as the houses are closer. (Just a thought instead of blaming the kennels). (When one dog barks they all bark!) It would not deter us from going again as it is such a nice friendly and clean well laid out site. Don't let a few dogs barking put you off as its honestly not that bad and if your at all concerned, take some ear plugs :-) It cost £20 pn with hookup but if you go for 3 consecutive nights between Mon-Thur they do 3 nights for £50.

Just arrived back after a 3 day break.
Lovely quiet, friendly adult only site. Well maintained site & spotlessly clean facilities.
Warm welcome & helpful Manager.
We we escorted to our pitch by golf buggy & told we could pitch any way we wanted. We had the entire camping field to ourselves except for the wild rabbits.
We had 2 dogs & there are good walks direct from site. The ones we did were through the wood next to the site & about half a mile to the Sheffield Arms pub. The following day we went the other way following the river Trent to where it meets the river Ouse & Humber, about 6 miles round trip, all of which is off road so great for the dogs & with some lovely views.
The other pub, the Ferry boat inn is literally 200yards from the site & we saw an incredible sun set over the river Trent from their enormous beer garden. The following night was a little chilly but we were welcomed inside with both dogs. Definitely recommend & we will return.

We stayed three nights on the camping field. Excellent site, friendly and helpful staff. Good pub close by. Facilities spotless. Great value for money - £50 for three midweek nights. We were as far away from the dog kennels as possible but the noise from there spoiled the perfect peace we could have had. However, they did not spoil our stay. There are plans to develop the camping field into site for static vans which will mean that the new camping field will be a lot closer to the kennels which will not be good unless the noise from the dogs can somehow be reduced.

Just came only about 12 miles from home to try out our new caravan. We stayed for three nights and re-booked for another week before we left. It is really tranquil and exceptionally clean. The managers were very friendly as were the other campers on site. The landlord at the pub on the river bank was friendly and made us welcome. This is a real treasure for us to find and I can see us coming a lot especially with it being so near to home and having so many nice walks on the doorstep.

WELL! what a fantastic site, well laid out, facilities immaculate, VERY friendly staff and warden, quiet, a couple of nearby pubs/eateries.
Booked for two nights to try the 'new' caravan to ensure everything working OK.
Would definitely consider revisiting.
