Spent 2 nights at this site.
We have been camping, caravanning and now campervan for many years and this is the most well kept site we have seen for many a year.
If we are in this area again we would not think twice about where to stay
The hedges and grass were cut to perfection and as for the heated shower block they are immaculate.

Just spent a weekend at this lovely little site, first impression was how well maintained the site was from the perfectly trimmed hedges between well sized level hard standing pitches, the toilet /shower block were immaculate to say the least lovely and warm with piped music was bonus, the owner richard was a very helpful friendly chap where nothing was too much trouble, we struggled to get a TV signal so Richard kindly loaned us his own outside aerial he was always on hand with information on where to visit, pubs etc, and dogs were made welcome, overall we had a fab weekend and hope to return in the near future we would highly recommend this gem of a site to anyone. Well done brookside and thanks for a great weekend. Rob and cheryl.

Just got back, what a fantastic site, spotlessly clean everywhere, even had music playing in the shower and toilet block, helpful owner and only 5 mins walk from a pub on the river bank that does great food, dogs are welcome [on site and in one end of the pub] and there's even a dedicated field were you can walk them off lead, some really good walks too, cant fault it, highly recommended.

Just had a weekend here, the site is extremely well kept, toilet block immaculate, everything is convenient! The water and waste disposal have surely been planned by a caravanner!
The site has level pitches all sectioned off by hedges and the dog walk is a real bonus. Felt very welcomed by Richard who was helpful in every way. The Ferry pub around the corner is right on the river and very handy just a short walk away with good, home cooked food and a warm welcome.
Lovely walks in the surrounding areas, Normandy Hall and Elsham Hall nearby, some excellent shopping parks are very close if you need anything (A Tesco Extra 5 miles) and the whole of the East Riding is just a short drive away over the spectacular Humber Bridge.
The site is adults only, lovely and quiet, will definitely be back!

We recently returned from a two-night stay at Brookside and want to say what a credit the site is to Richard and his hard work. Possibly the cleanest shower/toilet block we have ever seen, wonderfully kept area with trimmed hedges and lawns which would do Kew Gardens proud! The small touches such as DVD and book-lending facility, local walk maps to borrow and the feeling that nothing was too much trouble made it a pleasurable and enjoyable stay. We enjoyed the local walks and pub at the top of the hill and would recommend walking along to Alkborough Flats to see the view over the Trent Falls. We would definitely return to this peaceful, relaxing and welcoming little site.

I stayed here for just one night as part of a short cycle tour of the River Trent. It is a very well kept site with a spic and span caravan area and a nice tent field which I had to myself. The facilities are possibly the cleanest I've ever seen and are well-designed with large shower cubicles and a sink in a cubicle as well as the usual sinks. There's a wash-up sink in the little information room. I was very pleased to see the walks leaflets for campers to borrow, and used one to go for a short walk around the area.
There's a lot of interest in the area - I recommend visiting Julian's Bower turf maze over-looking the confluence of the Trent and the Ouse, creating the Humber.

This was our second 5 day visit to this site, and it was just as fantastic as we remembered from last year.
Richard is so welcoming, and the site friendly and relaxed.
Toilets are spotless, showers lovely and warm and hardly ever had to wait for one.
Other facilities include washing up, washing machine, dryer, iron, recycling and free dvd/book library. Also free wi-fi.
We got to choose our pitch from approx 6 available, although every pitch is lovely.
The only noise is from the birds, owls and occasional deer (we have been told). Although this time we did have a ship that hung around for an hour and some youth on a motorbike that insisted on riding around out on the road. But even this would not put us off staying again, as first visit there was nothing like that.
It's lovely to sit in the pub garden watching the sunset and occasional ship passing by.
Lots of lovely walks around, although you do have to climb uphill to start any of them, and lots more around to drive to.
With no children on site, this is a quiet, relaxed and easy going place to stay. Recommend to all.

What an immaculate site! There is a section as you drive in for visitors cars which was useful as we were there to visit family nearby. You have to leave your van and walk to the owners house which is behind the facilities block at the far end of the site. He then shows you around and takes you to a pitch. A very friendly and welcoming man. The shower was probably the best one I have ever used and the block had piped local radio at all times. It was spotless and well appointed. Free DVD loan and book swap available. Just at the end of the site there is a bridle path which once you get to the top of the ridge, flattens out to a lovely walk - we walked a couple of miles to the left and there were fantastic views. There is a pub just outside the site which had been flooded but had just opened again - we had to avoid the one side as the paint was still wet! Lovely local people there - very friendly. They will have a small café on site there soon too. Nice garden overlooking river. Good pub/restaurant at top of village (up very steep hill)and small local shop. Would advise making sure you stop for essentials before going down the hill if you don't have a separate vehicle! Lovely site - deserves its rating but was more friendly than some other rated sites - there were no 'Do Not' notices!

Just had 2 nights at Brookside Caravan and Camping Park. What a fabulous place! Our first visit but not our last. The pitches, toilets/showers, access road/grounds are of a standard that is beyond belief. After 21 years of touring-caravanning in the UK and continental Europe my wife and I are happy to declare that this site is equally as good as any we have used, anywhere. Well done Richard, your place is a credit to you. Your attention to detail is outstanding. Thanks for allowing us to experience perfection!

The site and facilities were immaculate. The owner was friendly and gave us the option to choose our own pitch, then left us to it. The site is secure with swipe card barrier entry. The surrounding area is not best know for its tourism but there are a few places worth a look. Normanby Country park and house was worth a visit. Some decent woodland walks adjoining site too. Scunthorpe has a decent shopping centre or if you want something more sedate, Brigg was quite attractive. We used the local pub nearest to the site, a bit rough looking but OK. Had some live music on when we were there which was pretty good. Would definitely visit again.
