My first ever review, so here goes! This is our third visit this year. Ian and Sue are the best hosts ever. Nothing is too much trouble. The site is kept immaculate and the (unisex) facilities are kept spotlessly clean with copious amounts of hot water. There is a freezer (free of charge) for cool blocks, full laundry facilities and a lovely little cafe and shop. Sue makes a mean breakfast bap for those mornings you don't feel like cooking. We were invited for drinks (Ian drinks red wine, Sue drinks vodka, so you now know what to bring!), and had a really fab evening. A child friendly site with a slide, goalposts and a basketball hoop, also a large play barn with pool table, television and lots of books. I've been camping for over 40 years and dare I say it, its the best place I have ever stayed. We've already booked for November but we will be staying in one of the static vans. In summary, would we return? YES, definitely!

What a fantastic site, we will definitely be returning annually when we visit Cornwall. Very welcoming and family friendly with the games room and park. Site, toilets and showers super clean and beautiful scenic views.
We unfortunately had terrible weather with rain but still really enjoyed ourselves. Hopefully next year the weather will be better and we can participate in their family friendly evening games of rounders.
Nothing is too much trouble for them and they even went home to lend us a cork screw for our wine!
Cant recommend this site enough.

A quiet well kept family friendly site within easy reach of all parts of cornwall. Unisex toilets and showers clean and tidy. Helpful and friendly wardens and owner(nice to share a glass of melot with).
Camp site rounders and quiz a great way to mix with other campers if you wish or just enjoy the stunning views a visit to the pond a must. Will certainly return. The leban family

This is our second year stopping here and we can't recommend this site enough. The owners are friendly and helpful(they helped us pitch our tent in windy conditions). The pitches are generous and well drained, toilet and shower blocks kept clean and regularly checked with lots of hot water for the showers. Cafe on site serves cooked breakfast between 9-11 am and in the evening burgers, hotdogs and chips etc. Very family friendly site with a small play area in the middle of the field. When weather permits a game of rounders doesn't go amiss for the kids and adults!
Great central location for discovering the wonders of Cornwall and just a short drive to the Eden project

Fab, peaceful, clean site.
Perfect location in that you can get to so many places from here.
Owners are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Site has 3 unisex showers, 6 loos, games room, small shop stocking the basics, cafe that serves breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals, small play park, washing up facilities, washing machine, tumble dryer and iron and ironing board.
Great size, secluded pitches. They do not pack them in like a lot of sites do so it feels like you have plenty of space. Also loved that there is an open play area in the middle to play games and the legendary rounders matches organised by the owners.
We had terrible weather whilst there but it hasn't put us off and we will hopefully return next year.

Campsite itself is lovely, big pitches and you don't feel crowded - however I don't think it was full during our stay. We had a pitch overlooking the playground that whilst basic kept the kids amused here and there. Around the playground was a great space to play ball games and not feel like you'd annoy your neighbours.
We had quite a bit of rain during our stay (3 days continuous) and the drainage on the site was excellent, after a couple of hours you could hardly tell it had rained.
The facilities are advertised as family showers, which I assumed there would be family showers within or separate to the mens and womens but what it actually meant was that all facilities were unisex. Whilst they were kept clean unfortunately it's not something I like for me or my kids to be sharing bathroom space with strange men - but that's just my personal view. Strangely it didn't bother my husband!
There were dish washing, laundry washing, 2 toilets, 1 enclosed sink, 1 sink and 2 showers in the block near reception. Showers weren't brilliant, and unfortunately the shower that had the best power kept wasn't consistent due to a pilot light that kept blowing out - the owners were aware of this and there was a sign on the door to check it was hot before taking your clothes off, but in my opinion more should have been done to avoid this? Also unfortunately apart from the 1st day and the last day of our week stay there, the dish washing hot water or sink hot water didn't work, so being in a tent to wash our pots we either took hot water with us, just used cold water or did them outside the tent! The owners seemed to blame the local plumber and say it was out of their hands, without really apologising or suggesting anything alternative - but I thought they should have a back up boiler or something in place - it just didn't seem fair to have something not working for so long?
The other block had 3 toilet and sink enclosed together and 1 shower, we didn't get to use the shower but did use the enclosed sinks for an evening wash which were fine, but the lights didn't work so you had to rely on the light shining in from outside the enclosed room.
They also had a games room which sadly wasn't great either, the pool table took 3x 20ps and you also had to collect the cues from reception (unfortunately one evening we put money in to have a game with our kids and then realised the cues weren't there and reception was closed so quickly had to invent a game of pool with no cues!). The table football had a whole in it. And the table tennis there were no balls - again you had to pick these up from reception. They did have a tv and chairs in there which were fine but not really used. I understand that a lot of items were restricted so they weren't damaged but it was as if they weren't really bothered if people used it or not. ?
The driveway to the campsite was fine, small lanes to get to it but that is part of the delights of Cornwall and a part of it that we quite enjoy, albeit rather hair raising at times.
The owners themselves were very friendly, but seemed to have quite a lot of family members of close friends staying at the campsite for long durations, so at times you felt like you were intruding?
Unfortunately a site we wouldn't go back to unless they updated the facilities to something a bit more modern, and separate mens and womens. And were a bit more professional when things went wrong or broke.

A lovely site, somewhere friendly and welcoming. The owner Ian is a fabulous wit to while away some hours with, he has some amazing tales to tell. Tempt him over with a bottle of Merlot (or several)!
The toilet block, washing up and laundry facilities are kept scrupulously clean by the wardens Pat and Irene and the owner Ian. There are plenty of facilities in the nearby town of Bodmin and the site is within short travelling distance of some stunning tourist attractions: The Lost Gardens of Heligan; Lanhydrock and Padstow with its quaint buildings and passenger ferry access to Rock.
We went out on a windy morning and came back to find our tent had been treated to some reinforcements by the warden Pat. He was concerned that our tent could have blown away. Thank you Pat!
It's well worth taking a wander to the pond at the bottom of the site, it's truly magical! We spent a lovely evening there and saw deer, dragon flies and some beautiful fish. The resident piggies are delightful and if you can find the cow, you're better farm animal spotters than we are! ;-D
