3 days spent here myself, husband, daughter, her friend and 4 of our friends. This is a really easy site to find, greeted by the owner in the shop as you arrive, who supplied us with a map of the site with our pitch clearly marked on it
Not a very big pitch but it was very busy and its the only down side. Plenty of elec hook-ups and water taps.
There is plenty of toilets and showers and considering how busy it was we never had to wait for either, there is dishwashing facilities, washing machines, tumble dryers (small charge)
Fridge and freezer (handy for ice blocks), there is a games room and shop.
The Gretna designer outlet is a short drive away which is good for a day out or you can always head out for a walk.
This is quite a lively site so great if there is a group of campers, no need to worry about the noise levels, all in all a very enjoyable stay.

This was our second camping trip and this was recommended to us and for us we give it a 9/10 over all.
Site very clean & quiet we were located in the horse shoe end of the park but the only downside to this was the trains that went past us only about 50 yards away wasn't great but that was the only down side to the whole weekend.
Very well equipped shop, good facilities for kids like a good play area and the local river close by to paddle in.
The toilet block was always clean and tidy and a added bonus was the family bathrooms which had a shower sink and toilet in 2 of them and 1 with a bath sink & toilet and over head shower in bath. At the end of the toilet block they had a row of 3 double sinks with plenty of space for all to use.
So over all as a second camp loved it and will be deffo coming back.

Highly recommended for family camping. It was quite busy the weekend we visited. There were mostly touring caravans and a few tents but the pitches were not marked out and we ended up rather squashed up with other tents that arrived just after us.
When we arrived we were told we couldn't use our heaters/kettle as the electric was low amp but the kind owner gave us a free loan of her camping kettle and luckily it wasn't at all cold so the heaters were not needed.
The site was easy to get to from the M74 - just a couple of miles and you couldn't even hear the motorway. The children's play area was brilliant, the shop was great - quite cheap and open almost all day. The kitchen/washing up facilities were clean (basic) and the toilets and showers were excellent. There were private family bathrooms and even a bath. There was also a communal fridge and freezer plus a washing machine and tumble dryer (you needed to get tokens from the shop - I think they were £2). The owners had created a games room for kids, a tv, loads of videos and an air hockey table but it had been abused a bit and was left very messy and littered when we looked in (which was a shame because it was a nice thing to do for the kids).
The best bit was the cave. It was quite a steep walk-way down (but we managed carrying a toddler) and the cave was really interesting (especially after we read the leaflet they gave us when we arrived). It is a very historic place and well worth a visit.
If I ever bought a touring caravan I would seriously think about keeping it at Bruce's Cave as the annual fees were really good.
Gretna Outlet Village is only a couple of minutes away by car - there are loads of bargains to get there. There is also a 24 hour Tesco about 6 miles away at Annan.
It was only £12.50 for a medium tent per night plus £2.50 for EHU - excellent value for money.

Spent a couple of nights on this site at the end of July. Found site to be very untidy, especially the playground. Litter from overflowing bins which were not emptied, even after telling the site warden. Toilets did not appear to be cleaned, at least during our stay. Toilet rolls had been pushed back into their dispensers by residents children, some of whom were very cheeky. Please note that this site has mostly seasonal vans and statics on site. Shop on site was good and catered for most things. Site manager was very nice and very helpful. Hopefully she will read this review and make amends.

After reading some of the reviews about this site we decided to visit it for a few days. There was only the 2 of us with no children. On arrival we checked in at the shop on site. We were met by the site manager who was very pleasant. We were shown our pitch which was next to the amenities. After a walk around the site we both agreed that it came nowhere near though the reviews it had received, this might be because of the time of year we were there. The kids play area was full of litter. Mainly due to the overflowing bins in the middle of it. The toilets were not as clean as they could be either. We never saw them being cleaned once during our stay, including the bins being full all the time.
The shop was very well stocked with prices reasonable.
The highlight of our stay there was meeting a gentleman who played the bagpipes. When we asked him any questions about them he went into great detail answering us. After we finished our questions he played a few tunes we requested, this was very very good of him. Thank you very much.
The owners of this site are lovely people, the only thing that let the site down were the mess the seasonal residents made, maybe not all of them but certainly some of them. This site could be very nice if it was tidied up a bit and a bit more effort put into cleaning the facilities and grounds. Like I said at the start, maybe it was just the time of the year when all the schoolkids were there.
We would like to visit this site again in the future, hopefully the owners will have a look round and see what we are talking about.

We are just back from a one night stay at this site. We live in Dumfries which is about 20 minutes away and went here in order to air and waterproof our tent which is a vango diablo 6.
We were given our choice of where to pitch on the tent field which is on a small gradient over looking the children's play area (we have two kids 7 and 10) so this was ideal in order to watch them. The play area is fantastic. Lovely river walk to Bruce's Cave and along the river.
The toilets are beautifully clean with good hot showers on for as long as you want which are free! The site managers are both very friendly and helpful and don't mind the children running about and playing as long as they're not a nuisance to other guests.
There is a pub in the village which no longer serves food although there is a KFC and Burger King at Gretna Service's about 10 mins away in the car.
A fantastic site we will definitely be visiting again in the very near future!

2nd time we have visited this campsite and it really is very good, great location just off motorway so ideal as a over night site before moving on.
The site has a fantastic play area, the walk down to the cave and then along the river is a must. The toilets, showers have always been clean and well maintained with plenty of hot water.
The local Chinese in Gretna next to the costcutter shop is very nice and reasonable and if you like black pudding or haggis then visit the butchers on the other side of the costcutter shop!
Watch out for the large grey cat that prowls around the site 'Silver' will steal your heart and proberly your sausage and bacon if you let him!

We stopped off for a night on our way through to Europe. I guess the thing that speaks best for this site is when I asked my kids the best site they stayed in during the holiday they said this one.
A very friendly welcome when we arrived! The weather was not on their side as it had rained for about a week non stop prior to our visit. This made the site very muddy but even in these conditions the facilities were still spotless.
We had the compulsory visit to the cave and all the kids enjoyed this and the play park on the site.
Now on the down side I am afraid there were teenagers hanging round cars during the night making a lot of noise. This although not the fault of the owners it would stop us from visiting again.
