Lovely site on level field with EHU, basic facilities but clean and great views over to Snowdonia. If owner not available a note is left on the door regarding pitches.
There was some work taking place when we stayed to upgrade facilities.
Great beach and forest walks nearby. Llanddwyn Island close by but no dogs allowed on island owing to nesting birds.

Well this was the first outing for us with Rodney our Red Ford Transit Custom Campervan. So we booked a couple of days. Great pitch. Great facilities. Hot water was hot and the location was awesome. Forest or beach your choice and we actually saw a red squirrel !.
Overall great site. Great owners and will definitely be back. Only given a 5 for child friendly as I don't know if it is as we had nor saw any kids.

We have been 4 times and we really like the simple set up.
The shower and toilet block is very well kept and clean.
Every morning without fail they are maintained.
Take 20p coins for the showers.
The views are amazing, and New Borough Forrest is a short walk away as is the beach approx 20 mins walk each way. No commercial rubbish just a coffee and ice cream van on the beach ( home made ice cream and a really nice guy working the van ) The Cod Mother chippy is just round the corner and the food is amazing.
Hootons farm shop is very close worth a look for the BBQ food.
There is also a CO-OP a short drive away.
Very tidy, well kept, friendly and will be going again would strongly recommend.

A basic site but signs of small upgrades being made. Unfortunately it looks like the owners have missed an opportunity to increase the size of the facilities - there are only 2 toilets in both male and female toilets and with 39 pitches this could result in long queues during busy weekends or holiday weeks.
Facilities are still on the basic side and the tariff seems a bit on the high side because of this, particularly as we've paid similar rates at sites with far more facilities and features. There's also a slightly naughty charge for dogs but no facilities for them!
On the plus side the view is spectacular across to the Snowdonia mountain range and the beach is a good day out (£4 charge for cars). We stayed out of school holidays so it was nice and quiet as it's off the main tourist route.
Other campers seemed to be making good use of cycles and the area is well served for them with cycle tracks through the forest and plenty of small lanes which suit cycles better than the main roads.
In short, if you're looking for a quiet site with great views this is the place. If you don't want to queue for the toilet or shower during peak times you might want to consider other sites.

My favourite campsite. Quiet, clean and basic. The views to the Snowdonian mountains is breathtaking and Newbrough beach is a 5 minute car, 20 minute bike or 40 minute walk away through pine forest. The owners are warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wonderful site, once we found it! Its on the road to the beach, but blink and you miss it. We went up and down road 4 times and then had to ask. They need a bigger sign, on both sides of gate. Anyway, we found the owners very pleasant people, scousers so what do you expect, lovely. The showers were great, only two, but no one else seemed to need them, so we were free to use them when ever.
The beach and the little island are a 40 min walk away, through woodland, very beautiful. Took us 1 and a half hours though cos we keep needing to rest. I would recommend this site for this walk alone, as the beach and little island are fabulous. No loos or anything on island, but lots of little coves with golden sand and clear blue sea, and seals playing near by. Take a picnic and make a day of it.

First trip away in new motorhome. Lovely quiet site with spectacular views across to Snowdonia, Five minute walk and you are in Newborough Forest - miles of safe walking for dog leading to lovely beach.
Facilities basic and these days I object to the 20p for a shower routine but that's the only negative.
Owner very pleasant, will definitely visit again

Nicely located site. Toilet and shower block inadequate and not of a good standard. Owners said they had not been there very long and it does look as though they are trying to improve.
Good points: quiet spot close to nice walks, friendly owners.
Bad points: needs a lot of upgrading, owners need to warn visitors when they are going to book in a big party, especially as this is in a quiet area.
The nearby village has an adequate shop, there is a pub which is a bit rough and does not open in the day. The nearby forest is beautiful, but beware, do not visit between May and August as you will be bombarded by flies and biting insects.
The campsite charges £1 per night for dogs, but there were no facilities whatsoever for them, you even have to take them off site to walk them. Whilst I was there the electric tripped out at the main consumer unit but I don't know why. I would not visit this site again as I think it was very expensive for the facilities provided as I have paid less for far better.

Maya ( Chocolate Lab) and I stayed for two nights on September 25 and 26th to experience one of the best short camping trips ever.
The campsite is positioned perfectly to access the expansive forest area and totally uncrowded beach with the most spectacular panoramic views of the Snowdonia Mountain Range.
To witness a harvest moon on a clear night in this location is a feast for the soul.
We will be Back.
Kind regards and thanks for your hospitality and spotless facilities
Mike and Maya

Just returned from two weeks at Awelfryn a lovely little campsite with fantastic views over to Snowdonia and down to the Llyn. The dunes of Newborough Warren are a 10 minute walk away and the fantastic beach and Llanddwyn Island is 5 mins by car or a 25 minute walk.
Chris and Kev are fantastic, friendly and helpful hosts and the site is in a peaceful location.
The facilities though aging a bit are spotlessly clean and always well stocked.
There is free Wi-Fi in the conservatory where you can sit and use the internet or shelter from the rain.
The site is mainly level and well maintained with the grass kept nice and short and the cuttings picked up.
Newborough village is only a short walk away and has a pub, shop, chipshop and café.
Whitelodge their sister site is a 20 minute walk through the dunes, where you will find the fantastic Marram Grass café, which is run by their sons and highly recommended.
All in all a lovely peaceful site close to one of the best beaches on Anglesey.
We cant wait to return in September.
