Have just spent the bank holiday at the site.

The site is basic but well maintained and the modest facilities are clean enough at all times. Facilities consist of two loos for each gender and two unisex showers. The loos are clean and well stocked with paper, the shower rooms are large and spacious.

There is no free hot water on this site with showers costing 20p, water for washing up costs 10p and no hot water is available for hand washing at all.

There are limited ehu pitches which are a reasonable size and occupy the edge of the field. None ehu pitches are available in the middle of the field.

The site could do with a few more rules, dogs weren't really managed well and we had to clear dog mess from our pitch and football games were ongoing from Dawn till dusk on a very full camping field. Only other complaint was that the very basic facilities haven't been updated since our last visit several years ago but any more tents were being crammed in to the available space.

We were charged £6 pppn plus £3 for electricity.

The owners need a mention, previous reviewers have made comment and I have to say that we found them to be very helpful and pleasant enough. No sign of a dry or offensive sense of humour.

There is plenty to do in the area with lovely beaches and forestry commission land right on the camp sites door step. Within a couple of miles drive there are several Anglesey attractions including model villages, stately homes and gardens and a sea zoo.

In the village there is a shop that has a decent range of stock. Supermarkets are available at Menai bridge and Bangor. There is a very good hard ware shop for gas and other spares in Menai bridge called Evans which is the nearest gas outlet we found. Don't stock up on eggs or veg before arriving on Anglesey as there are loads of Market gardens selling fresh produce at the road side.

Be prepared for high winds, both times that we have stayed on this site the wind has been strong, it is exposed and on the coast.

All in all a nice site in a very good location.

Excellent camp site with good clean facilities and excellent views. We stayed one night and this campsite and the owners were very friendly.

We made a silly mistake and got lost on the beach in the dark and were unable to find our way back to the car park, we called the campsite and Alex went above and beyond the call of duty and came to the beach and basically rescued us and our dog. Forever grateful !

Enjoyed a really nice half term break at this site, the owners were very friendly and showed us around the site on arrival. There is a big flat field where caravans, tents etc pitched up around the edges, however when it got busier they started to fill the middle of the field which could have restricted the area for the children to play football, cricket etc, however the owner did say he would leave it free for the children to play which was very nice of him.

The facilities are basic but very clean, 2 unisex showers, 2 toilets each which were adequate. One gripe is that there was only one sink to wash up, so had to wait on a few occasions (and seemed to always be behind someone who must have cooked for the 5000!)

The area is gorgeous right next to Newborough Forest which is a lovely walk down to a gorgeous beach my boys loved playing in the sand dunes and the forest which didn't seem like such a long walk it did take about 45 mins, however you can take the car through the forest for a £3 charge which is handy if you are ging to the beach all day and take your chairs, windbreak, picnic etc.The car park is right down near the beach.

There is a shop, post office and chip shop selling delicious pizza's about 2 mins in car, 10 minute walk-the boys want to go back just for the chip shop! We would definitely recommend this site and will be returning soon.

Had a fantastic weekend at this site. Although is was half term and the site was busy it did not feel packed and we had a lovely big area in front of our tent for our kids to play.

The loos/showers etc are basic and (although we didn't need it) look as if they are unheated. However they were very clean and the loos always had loo roll. We had to queue for showers a couple of times but only for a minute or two.

You need 20p for a shower which lasts just long enough if you don't have long hair to wash. 10p for hot water to wash up.

The site was very clean and looked well maintained and had gorgeous views over to the main land. The viewing platform was a big hit with the kids and was known as the 'mountain'. The views form the top are fantastic.

Local beaches are gorgeous and close by.

There is a fantastic shop on the main road by Rhosneigr (sorry if that is spelt wrong) which has everything you could ever need and lots of other things too.

We will probably return.

Small, modest campsite with wonderful, panoramic views over the sea to Snowdonia, and walking distance to both a village with small shop & pub, and the idyllic Newborough forest and beach. There is no children's play area, but there is room in the middle of the field for ball games.

There was also a kiosk outside the site, selling locally made ice-cream, canned drinks and chocolates etc.

The facilities: small, shed-like block which houses 2 toilets each for male and female, washing up room, and a couple of showers (20p coins). Though the site was busy for Easter weekend, I never had to queue and the shower was hot. You get a huge cubicle, and our friends chose to take a family shower to save money!

We found the owners to be friendly, extremely easy going, and eccentrically funny. Certainly not offensive as one other reviewer has mentioned.

The highlights: The inspired Viewing platform, where you can sit for a while with a pair of binoculars and enjoy the panorama, which takes in the skyline from Snowdonia's Carneddau mountains right across to the Lleyn Peninsula. There are miles of walks to be enjoyed around the forest and dunes, plus the lovely beach.

We loved this site, and spoke to several other campers who shared our feelings. One woman I spoke to told me she and her husband made such good friends with the local pub land-lord, they've been invited to come back and attend his 50th birthday party.

Stock up well with food though, as the village shop is limited.

Found the site had a rustic charm of its own.Everything worked and was spotless, hookups 15 amps!. The views over the mountains & the menai straights are fantastic. For access to the warren a quiet lane makes this a great dog owners site. Local shop full of all types of needs .In all I found the site had all I need for a good outdoor hol. I will return again as the warren with its unspoilt dunes & herds of wild ponies ,rabbits, bird life & the walks on the shore line give a great deal of wide open space to relax in. I found the rate charged was fine for the month. For a no frills site its fine, the elsan point is under a man hole lid! ok . Showers ok . My pitch was level and the ground drains very well and kept mud free after a heavy down pour. The site is prone to south westerly winds, in saying that, we had a gale one night no harm done to the awning!

We stayed for 3 nights at this small campsite in lovely surroundings with views of Snowdonia mountains. Pleasant quiet site with quite basic but clean toilet block, 2 showers with plenty of hot water cost 20p. Small shop in village within walking distance, also chip shop. Not good location for eating/drinking out but good for walking through woods, along beaches and around Llandwyn Island. Would stay there again.

We used this site for the first time last weekend as we wanted a site close to the beach at Newborough.

It turned out we made the right choice.

The site itself is spotlessly clean and the facilities we found there were more than adequate, but I can see how it could get busy if the site was full.

I noticed criticisms about price and the owners dry sense of humour, I'm sorry but if you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen. He's a straight talking no faffin about northern bloke who calls a spade a spade and we both found him intelligent, funny and a pleasure to talk to he was a mine of local information and we look forward to meeting him again when we next visit the site

The price was comparable with most other sites of that standard and lower

Very basic site, basic facilites, but very clean and has always been very quiet during May when we have visited on several occasions.

The views are fantastic over to the mainland on cleardays.

This area is best enjoyed on foot with some beautifull walks from the site down through the forest, warren and along the beaches.

My only critisisim is lifting the manhole cover to gain access to the chemical toilet emptying point especially if you suffer with back problems.

We shall return!

I was extremely disappointed with this site. The toilets and showers are very out of date. Washing up facilities are small and cramped and inadequate for the number of people on the site.

One reviewer has already commented on the owners dry sense of 'humour'. I and my family found it very offensive. He is loud and abrupt. Comments on what you have and the amount of stuff in your tent. I do not know how he gets repeat custom.

I would not recommend the site. It is £6pppn. Which is ok for a max of 2 people but taking into account the facilities more people in your party would make the site very poor value for money.

This is a shame as the area is fantastic and Newborough beach is one of the best on the Island. Do not be put off by the £3 charge to get to it as it is a very well managed beach and wooded area.

Also the site is quite exposed and a few tents were damaged by wind on the nights I stayed there.
