Great little site very friendly owners. Nice quiet location with a 10 min stroll to the pub/local shop as well as being ideal base for visiting the surrounding area.
Site is very clean and well maintained, nice big camp field with space in middle for kids to play.
The only point I would make is there could be a bit of waiting for loo's and showers as there is only 1 male and 1 female shower and toilet plus 1 disabled/shared toilet.
Not a problem most of time as the site is only small but if all pitches were to be full I think it may be a problem for those that don't like waiting.
But great little site in fantastic surroundings.

Let me get my issues out the way first -
4pm check in is too late - why 4pm? If check out is mid-day - what is the four hour period for?
My six year old and I turned up and as per the e-mail, we knocked and waited to be shown to our pitch. We waited and waited. Now, I am not sure how many of you know/remember what it is like to wait with a six year old, but mine is a very patient and excellent travelling companion and after we had both driven in torrential rain for 2 hours there are only so many excuses you can make for the site owners not being at home. With trepidation, I found my own pitch and hoped I wouldn't be moved. I did not see the site owners return before 6pm! In fact, I only met the husband when he drove 50 yards from his house in a range-rover on the final day and asked for the balance which his wife had instructed him to collect - 'Any idea how much you owe us?' he said and not once did he ask if we were OK!
Second issue was the shower cubicle being dark and cold. I am a man who has strip washed in freezing conditions but then I was not paying £18 for a pitch. The electric heater, located in the toilet cubicle was not working - thus, neither of us had a shower throughout our 3 day stay.
I sent a pleasant e-mail to the wife pointing out their lack of presence and the cold shower and I received the following excuses -
'It was an extremely rare case due to unforeseen circumstances that we were not available at 4pm'
This could have been placated by a visit the following morning me thinks!
'The electric heater works but has been cut off due to people leaving it on after it heats up'
Install another device then, or alternatively, switch it off yourselves each morning! the toilets are located closer to their front door than the pitches themselves!
£18 a night is too much for this site.
The site itself is very peaceful (when the dogs are not barking) and I saw a barn owl and heard tawny owls. My daughter was happy, so I was happy. The village is a quiet 'Broads' hamlet with a nice little shop and a run-down looking pub. Well located for Potter Heigham and a great Fish and Chip restaurant and Bewilderwood (the main reason for choosing it).
Given the little contact from the site owners I would not stay again out of principal but I imagine a Summer stay would be a different experience.

What a lovely campsite, from the minute we got there the owners where very helpful.
Nice big open field with several electric hookup points, plenty of room for the kids to play games in the middle and there's a pond at the entrance with some ducks that my kids liked.
The facilities are limited but we didn't have to wait to use them. Always had free hot water every time we used the shower. The price to pitch for the week was £150 which we thought very reasonable for the peak season, considering we also had a utility tent.
Local village of Thurne is 10mins walk, found the shop a bit pricey but had a lovely gift shop where we brought our presents for family. They also do a lovely latte. Kids enjoyed the mini arcade there which uses 2p coins in all the games.
We would visit this site again and cant wait for the next trip

Fantastic quiet site set in peaceful farmland a stone's throw from the Broads, but in easy reach of all the attractions such as the coast and Gt Yarmouth. Very friendly and helpful owners.
A small site, and although the washing and toilet facilities are limited, they are very clean and adequate for the numbers of campers, as the site really isn't very big.
Great for children, as there is a big play space in the centre where all the children can meet up and play.
The shops, with the exception of a limited and pricey one at the local pub, are a drive away, but that's the price you pay for a quiet and secluded site!
Our third visit and it won't be our last.

A lovely little campsite!
We stayed here for 4 nights at peak season. It's a nice level sheltered field and all the pitches are round the edge giving everyone plenty of room.
The toilets are clean and the showers free, although being only 3 toilets and 2 showers there's the occasional short wait. It's a nice new block and they've left plenty of space inside, where some sites have rather small cubicles, which is good for everyone. The worst I can say is that they need to put a bigger mirror in for shaving etc!
Despite being nearly full of families with children, it was very quiet at night and we both slept well.
It's a good space for kids to run round in too.
There's a byway running alongside the site and it's a nice walk into Potter Heigham where boats etc can be hired. We did this then walked back along the banks of the Thurne afterwards.
The pub in the village is a 5min walk along a quiet lane and although it looks a bit dated, I can confirm the food is excellent and the real ale very good, they even do carry outs! The landlord is a friendly man and the staff helpful. There's a small shop at the pub although we never used it.
There's a Tesco about 10 mins drive north up the A149 which is open until 10pm
One of my favourite campsites, I'd return with no hesitation. £18 a night is on the expensive site for 2 people, but good value for a family.

Just returned from this site which we found to be really great. Although there was only two other tents and one camper van on site its hard to judge if the site was full.
We could not complain about anything with the toilets and showers very clean with lots of hot water for the showers. Also there's a small shed in corner of field with a small kitchen unit and sink to do your washing up again with plenty of hot water.
You will be hard pressed to find a more peaceful site with a nice 5 mins walk to the local pub and the river which resulted in us spotting hares, pheasants, marsh harriers and a barn owl in our three day stay all around the camp.
Never had the pleasure of meeting Julia but had many a chat with Andy the owner who always had time for you. Overall a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend

This site was pretty much as described and we found the site to live up to it's claim to peace & quite. Like other reviews I feel it would benefit from more shower & toilet facilities, though I must say we never had to queue. The Lion Inn is only a short walk away, we ate in there twice and the food was quite nice, and the entertainment on Friday night was very good, though I must say it really could do with a refurb. That said all of the staff were very helpful & friendly. Would we stay at this site again ? Most definitely

Wanted to try out my new tent, so booked this site for one night. We had heavy rain, hail, thunder and a bit of wind. Despite this the field dried quickly so no problems with mud. (Tent held up well too.)
Small toilet/shower block 1 toilet and 1 shower. Don't know how well this would cope if the site is full. But as there was only one other tent on site, not a problem.
There is a shed in the corner of the field, with a sink for washing up and a freezer for ice blocks. Small, quiet, clean, tidy, nice location. 5 minute walk to the pub, and river if you fancy a longer walk or watch the boats. Not too far to Acle or Potter Heigham for shopping.
Potter Heigham has good fish and chips. I would/will use this site again.

This was a nice site, although not entirely what I was expecting. I was looking forward to camping next to the water in the pictures, but this isn't really part of the campsite as such. We were directed to the camping area, which is round the corner.
The facilities were very clean and well kept. There were two sets, one for ladies and one for gents. The site was quiet and I still had to wait for the shower most mornings. This site would be better off having two sets of unisex facilities instead. But the floors were clean and the water was hot, so anything else could be forgiven really.
The washing up area is very handy, and includes a freezer which you can put your freezer blocks in for 75p a day.
I highly recommend the local pub (10 minutes walk - take a torch!) which does fantastic food, and also has a shop and very small amusement arcade next door (not open late though, so make sure you have the basics before you arrive).
When we visited, the wind was utterly, utterly relentless. Nobody's responsible for the weather, but it did highlight the fact that this site is very exposed which was my only real negative for it. There are a line of conifers around the pitching area, but they were of limited help. Do bear this in mind when you pitch, and choose your pitch carefully to take advantage of what protection there is. A mild breeze elsewhere in Norfolk translates to a virtual gale on the broads where the land is so very flat.
In short, this site is ideally situated for walks and rides around the broads. It's child friendly, but still fairly quiet, and within reach of everything that east norfolk has to offer. Definitely worth a visit - just choose your pitch wisely!

This was our first visit to Norfolk and we picked this site as a central point for visiting places of interest which worked a treat.
The site is excellent. Very well maintained with facilities both accessible and efficient. It is tucked away which makes it very quiet and peaceful, the silence only broken by children playing which is delightful.
It is advisable to remember to take a torch for that late night return from the local pub 'The Lion', which is just five minutes away in the village. It is a great pub for families, with a large family room which is separate from the main lounge and bar.
The food is basic pub grub but the bar staff are really friendly and once you get used to paying over the odds for your drinks its a really great place to go to watch the boats. It has a good range of beers & ciders to satisfy any thirst. Toilets there are sad really and need some work but that didn't keep us away.
Having a caravan meant we were mostly self sufficient only having to use the shower block as it was obviously bigger than the one in the caravan.
The area is great for walking or biking with some spectacular views of the broads.
At the site Andy is a larger than life host. Calling round most mornings to say hello and most evenings too. He made our stay so much fun with lots of stories that just kept us laughing every day, through the good and the infrequent bad weather, even supplying us with fresh salad from his garden.
We have fallen in love with Norfolk and we are going back next year and this time for three weeks
