Exactly as advertised. A very well kept family campsite. Tents/caravans are situated around the edge of the field which leaves a huge flat area for the children to play and all the children across the site gathered together in the evenings which was great. The toilet block was clean - only one shower which wasn't a problem but the ladies would benefit from a sink and mirror in addition to the toilet and shower. The water was always hot and there was plenty of it. A shed in the field had a sink and hot water and a freezer for ice blocks.
The owners were very friendly and could offer lots of information about local places to visit. Pub up the road is within walking distance but a little expensive and the food is average but there is a good play area for the children and the beer was fine ! Plenty of local walks directly from the site and the beaches in the area are fantastic.
Sheringham was a great seaside town to visit and Norwich within reach with a great castle to explore. I would recommend and will definitely return.

We arrived here on Sat 22 August for a short 5 nighter all we could say was WOW what a stunning location the campsite is set in a beautiful broads village at the end of no through lane. The entrance is a gravelled drive way past the owners house and the small 1 shower male - 1 female, beautifully clean toilet/shower block (free electric showers very good) Plus with the site being small we never had to wait for a shower.
You continue past the small unfenced pond and round through the gate into the main field, basically a 1 acre square, cricket pitch flat grassed field with a hedge all the way round.
There is a small washing up area near the entrance & pitches are based around the perimeter some with EHU. Lots of open space for the kids (mine are 2/8 year old boys and they loved the freedom) & For peace and tranquillity this site is hard to beat.
The village Thurne is about 0.5 miles easy walk where en route to the pub there is a small children's park. The Lion is a friendly pub with a fine selection of real ale on offer if you have kids they have a small amusements and some kiddie rides in the car park (food not great here suggest you try the bridge Inn a few miles away.) The pub sits at the bottom of a broads mooring so you can watch the boats coming in on an evening and with a working white windmill at the side of the river the sunsets were picture postcard stuff !
The site is perfectly situated for access to all the major attractions and Great Yarmouth is only 9 miles away. Nearest Beach at Hemsby 5 miles away which is a great beach.
All in all in our opinion a 5* site in a 5* star location to explore the best Norfolk has to offer.

Secluded small site in a peaceful and secluded location away from the holiday crowds, but near enough to beaches and wet weather attractions! Lovely flat camping area set next to the broads. Tents are set around the filed, so lots of room for children to play cricket, football, etc. Pub and small shop a short stroll back up the lane, but other amenities are a drive away, or a longish walk across farmland.
Nice washing up hut and showers and toilets block clean with lots of hot water. Could do with a couple more toilets and showers, but we didn't really have to wait despite having a group of 6 children with us! There is lots of safe space for them to run around, as there is only one entrance into the field, so cars don't really cause a problem. Nice and quiet site, with plenty of wild life about. The pond is a nice feature and lots of birdlife to spot too. Plenty of pheasants and owls in surrounding fields and a marsh harrier hunting over the site one evening! Good place for young family camps.

We stopped at this lovely site for two night just last week - the owner was very friendly, and even shook our hands when saying hello - what a great welcome!
The site is located in a very quite part of a small village, which was great, as all you woke up to was the sound of animals instead of cars!
The site is fairly spacious, but as we were the only people camping it's hard to gauge how much space there would be if the site was full.
The facilities could do with increasing in number. One block (mens = 1x shower, 1x toilet and 1x urinal). The ladies also had 1 shower and toilet.
I can imagine you'd have to wait quite a while if the site was busy, which would be a bit of a pain if you took children. As we were the only one's there no waiting!
The facilities themselves were very good. Electric shower with piping hot water.
5 mins down the road you found the Broads, and within 10 mins drive there were a number of small towns packed full of things to do on the water.
At £17 per night, it was perhaps a bit pricey, but would prob visit again.

Very nice people and very clean site, only downside dogs allowed to run loose and campsite owners unaware. Very peaceful if you like the quiet life this is for you. The local pub was very welcoming with good meals reasonably priced and with its own shop with basic provisions if needed.

This is a very pleasant camping site set in pretty countryside with sheep and horses in the neighbouring field and plenty of space for the children to play.
As we went on the bank holiday weekend it was very busy, and sadly the toilet / shower and washing up facilities let the place down. There was only one sink for everyone on the site to wash up, causing long queues. Similarly, there were queues in the morning for the one ladies' toilet and shower.
There are lots to do in the local area - there is a pub within walking distance and easy access to the broads.

A lovely site. A wonderful area for the Broads and the coast. The site is very well kept and spotlessly clean. Bank holiday weekend there were a lot of tents but still plenty of room for the children to play football and swingball or even catch tadpoles in the pond. The pub just a five minuet walk away was very friendly and served excellent meals.
We launched our canoes from the pub slipway at no charge. Great weekend. I would recommend this site.
The toilets and showers were very clean but hardly adequate for the bank holiday rush. The same really for the washing up facilities very good but just not big enough to cope with the bank holiday, queues for the loo and washing up and showers a little disappointing. However overall a brilliant site and we will definitely go again.

Tucked away in a nice area of the Norfolk broads run by a pleasant friendly family. The pitch sizes were very spacious, our tent was 23 ft x 15 ft plus additional car and windbreak we had ample of room.
Close to local amenities and children's park, Lion inn with small amusement area for children. Dogs are welcome in family room of the lion Inn.
If your looking for a peaceful, hassle free breakaway without the hustle and bustle typical holiday park resorts then this is definitely the place you want to be.
Many places to visit in surrounding areas, such as canoeing, seal walk, lighthouse visit, fishing, birdwatching, wildlife gardens, steam train rides and country side walks, just to name a few relaxing and interesting things to do.
Thanks for a lovely holiday.

My Family and I visited this site for a four day break to look over the area for a holiday next year. When we arrived we were met by Andy who showed us all the facilities, which were in a very clean and tidy condition.
This site is a bit out of the way which is what we were looking for but Norwich is only 12 miles one way and Gt. Yarmouth is about 9 miles the other way. In the village the local pub ( The Lion ) served hot meals or snacks we had an evening meal there and it was fantastic and the price was good as well as very friendly staff.
I would highly recommend this site to all who seek peace and quite amid the broads. We have already booked our holiday for next year at this great site. Definitely a 5 Star site. This Site ' Is A Little Piece Of Heaven That Fell To Earth '

'BRILLIANT', we are certainly going to tell our friends about this campsite, but not too many as its so special! The facilities are just right for the amount of campers and as described by other reviewers, very clean and well looked after. The amount of space provided was ample. Julia & Andy are very friendly and always had time to have a chat and give advice etc. A great safe place to bring the kids as they had tons of space to run around and play.
Thurne hots up in the late afternoon when all the boats come in. We did go to the Lion Inn one evening, but to be honest we were not really struck on it, staff friendly, but didn't really fancy the food much as it seemed to be mass produced and obviously catered for the boating fraternity.
We had a superb circular walk from Thurne to Repps where you can have a lovely picnic and watch the boats go by. All in all a lovely 4 nights of bliss!
