My husband and I have just spent a very happy week on this site.
Andy and Julia who run the site are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
When we arrived Andy was there to help 'push' the caravan into position and to assist when necessary. He is full of local information and advise on where to visit.
One piece of good info is if you go into Norwich use the 'park and ride' it is so cheap!
The site is based in a flat field, all the units are placed around the edge of the field so there is a lot of room for children to play.
It is a very quiet site, not funfairs or loud music, just peace and tranquillity.
We found everyone very friendly, and willing to help each other if necessary.
The toilets and showers where always clean and tidy, there are grab rails for those with poor mobility.
Down the country lane is the pub which served excellent meals, sat outside you can watch the boats on the Broads, very entertaining at times!
The weather wasn't always kind to us whilst we were there we had some very windy days/nights and heavy rain.
Andy showed concern for the campers, and was always asking if they were alright, on a particular windy day he even went round the tents securing the tent pegs making sure everyone had a tent to come home to!
We will be returning to Norfolk and to this site again, I feel we have found a secret place but am happy to share with you all.

A Brilliant location, quiet, safe clean with no busy roads or light pollution.
A warm welcome from the owners, who were helpful and friendly
The wash/WC facilities consisted of 2 male toilets,
2 female toilets and a shower each. At face value this appeared to be a bit short - but to be fair, we never had to queue - even though it was peak season and the site was full.
The washing facilities would have benefited from larger wash basins away from the toilets – I find the unpleasant smell of urine even more unpleasant when you are brushing your teeth! Also a hand dryer or paper towels would have been more hygienic than the single hand towel that was provided.
Hot water was included with the rate and the showers were very clean and worked well.
The washing up area consisted of a single station - I always had to queue, which was rather annoying.
My only real negative gripe (which was no-ones fault) was that we were placed next to a young family and we were kept awake for the first night by their baby and children constantly crying, even wearing ear plugs didn’t work.
The owners were very understanding and they arranged for us to move to the area between the toilet block and the pond. It was actually a lovely quite spot although the WC/pond was a little smelly at times! Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay.
Thurne is a lovely location, the site is 10 mins walk from the Lion Pub which we visited one evening. The Lion is a large family pub with a pool table and games room. It has a warm friendly atmosphere. They do food but we didn’t fancy it because the toilets were so disgusting!
Back to the campsite.
Worth the money? Would we come again? YES, but I would say its better for families rather than couples.

Just returned from 10 days at Woodside Farm. As previous reviews have stated the campsite is in a great location. The owner was very welcoming and took the time to walk around a couple of times a day making sure everyone was OK.
Even though the site was full throughout our stay it didn't feel too crowded and was very quiet after dark. The pitches were all around the edge of the main field so the middle area was always available for children to play in.
There was some queuing for the showers and washing facilities at peak times - the site could really do with some more and it's really the only negative we could think of for this site. There's also a freezer for ice packs (75p a day) which came in very useful.
There's lots to do in the area and if you've got children then the Bewilderwood theme park is a must. Great Yarmouth is a short drive away and in around an hour you can get to Cromer and Blakeney - a trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point should also be on the list. We'd recommend the Bridge Inn at nearby Acle for food and they have lots of facilities for children including golf and quad bikes! The fish & chip shop at Potter Heigham (around 10 mins away) is also recommended.

Just spent 6 days at this great site. Nice showers and toilets. Quiet site and safe for kids to play.Run by a very friendly couple, Andy will become a legend in his own lifetime. We highly recommend staying here. There are plenty of leaflets on the attractions all around that area of Norfolk.Half the site has electric hook up, All the pitches have their own space, The site is surrounded by a neat hedge so wind is not a problem.Would definitely go again if we visit Norfolk again.

This was out first ever camping trip so we carefully planned for two nights just in case the kids or myself and husband didn't like it and wish we had booked longer!
The toilets and shower which I never had to cue for were always clean and tidy, the shower was surprisingly powerful considering we were in a block in a field! It could have done with a larger sink in the toilet room as there wasn't one in the shower room but that's only because I was trying to wash 6 hands in one sink!
The washing up area has a freezer for ice blocks and there was always hot water, this was quite busy in the evenings but as we were on holiday we didn't worry about the washing up being done until the kids were asleep so by then the cue had gone.
The man who runs the site was very helpful and friendly, was very happy to help when we suggested another pitch away from a couple with dogs as the kids don't like them and was a cheerful chap first thing in the morning.
I can say we shall definitely be going back again!

Spent a week here. Lovely site but unfortunately not the quietest when three huge family tents congregated and kept us awake each night well into the early hours, or the cheapest plus 75p to freeze an ice cube, This was our second visit and facilities were as the year before, Toilets showers Spotless but could do with some more as it can be quite hectic when the site is full. Lovely surroundings. Would be 10 star if it were adult only. Never got to meet the owners unfortunately. Ideal site for kids with plenty of room for games etc but can be annoying for adults on their own. Best time is in between school hols for that peace and quiet.

We spent one night here - checking that the hassle of sorting out tent and kids is worth it for just a short weekend! - would have happily stayed for longer.
A very pretty site, with plenty of room for the kids to play safely and a little pond which they enjoyed looking at. I'm glad we were pitched away from it though as I'd have had to have watched them a lot more carefully!
My only gripes are that the site could do with another washing up sink, we had to wait for ages after breakfast and we were trying to pack up, and the lack of a separate wash basin in the ladies. I know many parents of small children who struggle with them in showers - mine despise them and scream the place down - and there was only a small basin in the same room as the toilet. This would have become more of a problem had we stayed longer.
As others have said though, a pretty site and cheap compared with others in a very nice area.

What a wonderful small site, The owners make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
The Pitches are very spacious and set around the outside of the field leaving plenty of room for the children to run around and play in the middle.
Just outside the main camping field is a small pond and beyond that is another field that the owners let us exercise our dog in.
There is a small toilet block comprising a male shower and toilet, a female shower and toilet and also a mixed toilet. Being a small campsite the limited facilities never seemed to be a problem.
The facilities were always clean unlike some of the larger sites I have stayed at.
There is one washing up area in the corner of the field with plenty of hot water.
There is a pub just 10 minutes walk away from the campsite which also has a small shop for basic supplies if needed.
Generally there are lots of attractions in the area, Leaflets on local attractions can be found in the washing area.
Trying to think of some criticism for this site and the only thing I can think of is the price,Although paying a little extra for a wonderful small site set in the heart of the countryside with no noisy roads or railway lines running past in my opinion is well worth it.

Arrived on the Late May bank holiday to a very quiet site. This campsite only allows 10 tents plus caravans/motor homes. There was only 4 tents on the Friday, the rest arrived on the Saturday. Its nice to find a campsite that doesn't have a minimum 3 nights stay on Bank Holidays.
The facilities were clean and spotless. The greeting on arrival was as friendly as ever. We were put in the field next to the toilets/pond with the rest of the couples. The main field is where they put families together. It rained quite a bit but the ground stayed firm. The only moan is that after rain the nearby ditches or pond start to smell a little bit.But this does not detract an anyway from an excellent little site that I feel should be in th new Cool Camping Mini Sites book.
We ate in the Lion Inn, a 5 minute walk from the site. The food was excellent and in big portions. There was 10 vegetarian options on the menu so my other half was pleased. The service was exellent considering it was a Bank Holiday and the Annual Boating Regatta was on in the village.
There's plenty to do in the area, boating, cycling and walking. The seaside is a 15 minute drive away and there are plenty of tourist attractions around to suit all the family.
Plenty of shops, Budgens in Acle, Roys in Wroxham, stores in Potter Heigham, plenty of supermarkets in Great Yarmouth/Norwich.
We will definitely be returning here.

Only stayed for 2 nights, but what a lovely, friendly welcome. In fact probably the friendliest, most helpful welcome we have ever had (and we have stayed on a lot of sites over the years)
Although no hard standing pitches and weather was very wet, we were put on a gravel patch on what was the driveway, but with beautiful open views in 3 directions we had no complaints! Peaceful is an understatement, and the surrounding areas were very accessible by various footpaths, some leading alongside the river and reedbeds which were great for wildlife.
We did not use the facilities as we have our own so cannot comment on these, apart from the fact that there were only 2 showers (1 male, 1 female) so when busy could cause a problem, but they were very clean! The village pub was very friendly and welcoming and served good food, and the quiet lanes were ideal for cycling or walking. Cannot see that there is a lot for children in the area, but for wildlife enthusiasts it is a great base. Deer, owls and plenty of water birds to be seen.
We would definitely return, but not in busy summer months.
