Just returned from a two day visit to this superb site. No complaints whatsoever but the weather was dreadful thank goodness the Wardens were extremely helpful pleasant and professional a true asset to The Caravan Club!
I will be back without hesitation.

A typical caravan club site, good facilities, showers clean, plenty of them. A hairdryer is provided in the ladies.
However when I checked in the lady warden was less than friendly.
There is no views, except from maybe 5-6 pitches, this could be made better by trimming the hedges and trees. This would improve it.
The chip van visits, but the chips were precooked frozen ones, I suppose so they can cook quick.
The pub across the roundabout had nice food, but worth booking, even on a Wednesday it was busy
Hilbre islands are worth the trek, watching for seals. Plenty of time to hike out there as the tides go out so far. The beaches around the area are vast and empty.
The Wirral way runs next to the site, but the only entrance and exit is out of the main entrance, another pedestrian gate at the opposite end would be good. I know there is a worry about security, but there were lads on site at 1-2pm anyway one night, so no real deterrent at the main gate for those on foot. There was also boy racers and beach racers! a shame. We felt on edge after that.

Pleasantly surprised by this site. We tend to find the club sites can be a bit different, staff miserable and other campers not wanting to make eye contact or say hello, but this site was completely different. Staff were lovely and everyone was talking on the site and ever so friendly, so maybe we've just been unlucky in the past!
Lovely corner pitch, near the facilities, but not the view. View sites are limited and the site was full so even though we got there early, we weren't one of the lucky ones! Watch out for the cleaning of the facilities as this caught us out a couple of times!
Local area was lovely. Nice walk to West Kirby and a dog friendly bar called Kirby Tap was very welcoming. Thurstaston Hill provides some lovely country walks and views across both estuaries.
We were there for a week, and even though not high season, the chippy still came one night and the site was very busy, but no queues for the facilities at any point, which was good. Although we did see some motorhomes queuing for the service point one morning!
Play area for the little ones looked very tempting. Oh to be a child again!
Would we go back? Yes, we were visiting friends and it more than met our needs, so yes, when we visit them again, we will be back!

We spent 8 nights here. Weather was good we had a good sized hardstanding on this quiet site.
There are lovely views across the Dee estuary.
If you like walking or cycling its great. There are miles of level walks in the Country park. We walked to West Kirby, which is pleasant and in the other direction to Heswall.
There is a nice cafe at the entrance to the park within walking distance. Its called TJs. There is a Morrisons in West Kirby with petrol station.
It's easy to get to Liverpool by bus or Train. We drove to Birkenhead where we found a secure car park near Hamilton Square station (3 pound all day)then took the Mersey Ferry.
Had a nice day in Liverpool.
There is lots of info in the site information hut.
Hoylake and New Brighton good for promenade walks with free parking in New Brighton and good selection of cafes and pubs.
Facilities clean with nice hot showers.
You can also use the clubhouse bar at adjacent mobile home park. It was open Friday Sat and Sunday when we were there. A short walk. We did not visit it.
We will definitely go back to this area but not in peak season as it is popular.

Approach - follow the instructions on the web site and you can't go wrong
Check in - Caravan club site, we were shown available pitches and the whereabouts of the facilities. Helpful knowledge about the area.
Pitch - our pitch was large with electric hook up - very few pitches have a view over the estuary, and it's first come first served, a mixture of grass and hard standing.
Facilities - nice and clean, can be busy, I was second in a queue for a shower. Laundrette, information room, and all the usual water, elsan points etc. On the Saturday we stayed there was a visiting fish and chip van, they were excellent, but I don't think they are there every week.
Local area -not far from seacombe and the ferry to Liverpool, the wirral circular path and of course the sea.
In summary - clean facilities, all round good site well worth staying at.
Was this site for us - yes we would go back, lots in the area still to see, could be quite a busy site which could feel crowded and the chances of getting one of the pitches with a lovely view would be slim.

Just back from another trip to Wirral Caravan Club site. The wardens are very friendly and the site as always was clean and well looked after. We had a drink in the cottage loaf on Friday and although we didn't eat it looked good! Wine and beer were good.
We walked the Wirral Way to West Kirby on Saturday, great path for walking and lovely view to. Watch out for the cyclists though some are very fast and incredibly rude. I brought my two dogs to heel every time anyone went past to allow them to pass safely you'd be amazed how few said thank you. We walked on the path between the sea and the lake strange feeling but lovely, there's a cafe at the top of the road at the side of Morrisons which we recommend for refreshments before walking back don't remember the name but it has seats outside and is next to M & Co.
In the evening we drove to Frankby to the Farmers Arms (dog friendly) - not the poshest of places but again beer and wine were good and so was the food. We met a couple in there who also recommended the Irby Mill also dog friendly and serves good food and real ale. They also recommended Royton Park for lovely walks. Didn't go this time as time was short but will definitely try next time along with the Irby Mill.
In conclusion - lovely site in a lovely position. Planned our next trip there already

Stayed here recently, lovely site, our second visit. Estuary views from certain pitches. On our first visit found lovely coffee shop 5 minutes walk from site serving hot and cold food, fresh cakes and puddings, lovely.
Site is in easy walking distance of lovely coastal walk or can walk along the beach.
Site facilities and staff of the usual high standard of the caravan club.
Nice large pitch on both visits.

Just arrived back from this beautiful site after spending 3 nights. We had only booked for 2 nights but decided to stay an extra night. Firstly, on our arrival we were made very welcome by warden. This was our first time here and were over the moon that somewhere like this was on our doorstep (hour from home). It is a very dog friendly place. The pitches are of good size and very well kept. The toilet block is immaculately kept with ample showers plus little vanity rooms. As the park is in the middle of Wirral Country Park there are lots of walks to go on. Lots of wildlife can be seen on the park and the views over the Dee Estuary need to be seen to be believed. Can't wait to return to this gem of a site.

We spent a couple of nights here when returning from the south. We had tickets to see Rod Stewart at the Echo arena and knowing the Wirrall quite well it seemed a good idea. The site is in a really great location with many pitches having views over the Dee estuary to North Wales. The site is wonderfully landscaped with loads of trees and there is lots of wild life. It was quite gusty during our stay but in a way that added to the charm of the place. Looking over the Dee estuary at dusk and in the evening was lovely. Like most reviewers the amenities block really needs updating but it was always warm, clean and had an abundance of hot water. There is much to see and do in the area being close to both Chester and Liverpool. Port Sunlight is a must to visit. Well worth a visit to this site despite the outdated toilet block.

A lovely location with some pitches having views across the water. But it's a bit exposed and we spent 1 night listening to the wind howling and being very concerned as to whether our new awning would remain intact! There is a nice children's playground and the facilities are clean, but the site lacks atmosphere. We used it as a base for getting into Liverpool and it certainly did the job. But we wouldn't particularly want to return for any other reason.
