This is a lovely site, situated only 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach. Although rocky in places, the beach did have an area of sand which would be sufficient for children to play on. Other beaches are only a short drive or walk away in West Kirby and Hoylake.
Several of the pitches have beautiful views over the Dee Estuary but you would have to arrive early to bag one of those. We chose a pitch near the excellent childrens' play area. We were on grass which was in excellent condition and not too soft despite recent rain. The site is well laid out and didn't seem crowded, despite it being full when we visited.
The Wirral Way ajoins the site which is excellent for cycling and walking. We will be returning with our bikes for a ride along the Wirral peninsular. You can ride for miles without needing to go on a road which is excellent for those of us with children.
No toddler washroom which is a shame. The toilet blocks were clean, although we found the shower cubicles to be on the smallish side. And only 4 showers for each sex which seemed to be a bit tight for a site with almost 100 pitches.
All in all, a great site and we will be returning.

Great Park, friendly & very helpful Wardens. Spotless facilities. Pitches well laid out although make sure you have a 25metre plus hookup cable as some points are a distance away. Ideally situated for exploring the area. We parked free and caught a Train into Liverpool which cost a total of £7.00 for 2 adults & 1 child which allowed us to go on buses, train and the ferry all day.
TV fair, T-mobile signal fine. Shop sold milk (in bottles) and a few basics but there is a shop within a 5/10 mins walk away.
Would definitely return.

We liked the way this site is divided into different pitching areas by landscaping with trees and bushes. Also around the perimeter there are trees, wildflowers, nettles etc and we saw numerous butterflies and birds and a hedgehog. I wish more CC sites would follow suit in allowing a more natural look - grass doesn't have to be like a bowling green. We had a lovely few days midweek when it was only about half full. If you want to be able to walk and cycle directly from the site then this is a good one! Lucky enough to have good weather but I guess it can get pretty windy here as you are right next to the Dee estuary. A walk of ten minutes or so along the Wirral Way brings you to places where you can access the shore. A very good site for birdwatchers - we saw Shelduck, Curlew, Heron and many more.

We have stayed at this site 3 times and each time is more enjoyable than the last. The wardens are very helpful and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they manage a very clean, well organised site. We walked for miles around the area and the disused railway line adjoining the site was great with easy access to Heswall and West Kirby. We went to Hoylake one day and walked along the prom for about 6 miles round trip. Don't forget to visit the lifeboat station. Fantastic views around the area and the Spring flowers were in abundance. Don't all be in too much of a hurry to get there because we wish to go back again and again.

Booked on this site for 3 days but ended up staying 10 days in total. This was our first time to a caravan club site and it was lovely. The pitch we had was a grass one which was flat and good space between pitches. Shower and toilet block were lovely and clean but problem was they closed for cleaning between 10.30 - 12 noon each day which was a pain sometimes. Small shop on site selling bread, eggs, milk and you can order papers the day before and have them delivered to van for 5p extra which was great. Went for lovely walks on the Wirral Way an old railway track which is converted into a footpath/cycle path very flat and scenery lovely over the Dee Estuary. Visited West Kirkby and Heswall both lovely places to eat and drink. At the top of road is a nice pub called the Cottage Loaf we ate there a couple of times. Half way up is a Farm Shop which we didnt get to but believe from other people they have great produce. All in all a great time was had and we will definitely return again next year. 10 out of 10

May 2004 We visited this site with a trailer tent. What a beautiful, well set out site! Each area is surrounded by trees and gives the feel that it is only a small site. The toilets and showers were exceptional - it was no surpise that we needed a key for access. The views were amazing, the play area suitable for all our children and the situation of the club house was just right. Access to the beach was an easy five minute's walk away. The reception/shop stocked basic essentials and the staff were most friendly. It was very easy to relax here - even with the children. Highly recommended!
