My son and I had a fantastic 3 night stay at Moorhouse. It was our first visit to the site and we found the owners very friendly and accommodating. The site is well laid out and we had plenty of space for our van+awning. We were in the large tent field (with electric hook up) which was perfect for us. The site and the facilities were always kept very clean. We enjoyed an open fire every night. The site doesn't sell things like bread & milk, but they do provide a fridge and freezer in the communal bbq area which was useful.
We enjoyed exploring the local area - Kilve Beach, Watchet harbour, the steam railway, etc. And we also cycled to the Plough for food one evening. Families are welcome and the food was plentiful and good.
All in all we had a great stay, and would visit again.

A working farm with chickens and ducks roaming about. Spacious pitches, pretty and well maintained site in lovely surroundings.
Customer service marked down because we didn't see the site owners all week so cannot judge. Sorry!
Decent shower block, 50p for 5 mins shower but taking into account we paid 18. 00 a night including EHU and awning, it still worked out cheap. Shower was hot. Facilities clean.
Lots of seasonal pitches taken. The camping field (with EHU) is lovely, very spacious and we stayed on there despite being in a caravan. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunrise in the morning and set in the evening. Lots of space for children to play and some equipment for them too.
There is a covered communal BBQ area with a fridge and freezer available to use.
Fire pits everywhere.
You can purchase wood and cider on the farm.
Free wifi available around the shower block. We did have problems with phone signals.
40 minutes walk to Kilve beach, a real fossil hunters paradise. 20 minutes walk to nearest pub, (not along main road but on a green route) which is a locals place but friendly enough with a decent range of ales and ciders and a basic menu. Huge portions mind! 10 minute drive to Williton with a good selection of other places to eat and a co-op and spar. A more basic shop is in Kilve handy for milk, bread etc.
Dunster and its castle are close by as is Minehead. Good access to cycling and walking routes. WWT Steart less than 10 minutes drive.
All in all a good site and we will return. Really enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and hopefully next time we will get to meet the owners because from what we've read we would have enjoyed that :-)

This is a lovely, spacious site which is family friendly. Our two year old loved the fact there were chickens and ducks wandering around and on the bank holiday weekend the owner put on tractor rides! Facilities are clean and well maintained, although the showers (for which there is an additional charge) are not great in terms of power. All in all, we would highly recommend the site and the pub up the road!

This has to be one of the nicest campsites we have visited. The owners are very helpful and friendly and very obviously love what they do. The site is on a working farm, the pitches are a good size, many separated by pretty hedges with flowers. There are lots of trees and lovely plants and the site is very well maintained. It's clear that Simon, Helena and their family work very hard to make this such an appealing campsite. There are two shower/toilet/washing up blocks and wet rooms. At busy times there is a short wait but there are plenty of facilities for the size of the site. It's 50p for a 5 minute shower but when you look at the cost of a nights stay it really isn't a problem. We stayed with our camper, 2 adults and 2 dogs for just £20 per night including hook up. We think it's a real bargain for this quality of campsite. There are so many personal touches that make it so good. In the shower block there are fresh flowers, there is recycling, an information point with maps, local attraction leaflets, books and magazines. WIFI is available if you feel the need and you can even buy Cider made at the farm, fresh eggs and wood for your campfire. It's a great camping experience. The owner has a wonderful collection of vintage tractors and gives rides around the farm for children and adults. There are chickens, rabbits and horses, a children's play swing and a communal barbecue area with fridge and freezer. If like us you want to go for scenic walks, you can walk up a track from the campsite and in 30 minutes you are on the Quantocks moorland with stunning walks and views. Walk the other direction and you are at the beach in 30 minutes. There are plenty of places to grab a cream tea or light lunch and the Plough pub serves giant food portions of delicious pub grub. Whatever your age there is something for all. I cannot fault this site. We have visited twice in a month. Once for a weekend and then full week. We will be returning for sure.

We stayed at Moorhouse campsite towards the end of summer for a week and had a lovely time. Our children loved the chickens, ducks etc. We enjoyed the local walks and the beaches. Nice walk along the back road to the local pub. Good local amenities, village shop, 3 min drive to good butcher, farm shop. Great BBQ/ seating area. Such a well looked after site, very clean etc and child friendly. Fantastic views and very peaceful, enjoyable stay. Simon and Helena were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to staying with you again. Thank you.

Simply put, this is one of the best sites we have visited.
We stayed here for five nights over the Bank holiday weekend with some friends of ours who have two children. On booking over the phone I requested if our caravan and our friends tent could be pitched together, which was not a problem.
On arrival, we were greeted in the reception area, remainder of the pitch fees paid, and shown where to pitch. We were the only units on the first (Thursday) night on the camping field.
There are several areas divided by beautifully kept hedging each containing different types of pitches - seasonal, touring caravan or camping.
We were in the camping field where hook-ups are available at no extra charge, also awnings were no extra. There is a charge of 50p for the showers, which for a good 5 minutes in a well maintained amenities block is perfectly acceptable. Especially considering the very reasonable pitch fee.
Water and waste points are well located, and the bins provided for recycling and general waste regularly emptied.
The site is well situated in a fairly sheltered spot amid rolling farm land, mainly wheat fields. Plenty to see and do: fossil hunting on Kilve Beach, National Trust properties ( Dunster Cstle is well worth visiting, Nr Minehead), West Somerset Railway and walking on the Quantock Hills (stunningly beautiful).
The nearest pub is in the village of Holford, which is about a mile away and can be walked to via a green lane and a back road. Serves reasonable ales and meals. There isn't a shop on site, the nearest convenience store is a garage 5 minutes drive away, then there are plenty of shops in Williton 10-15 minutes drive.
There aren't any specific children's play area, but there is a large field for ball games, frisbee and general running around.
Would definitely stay here again at some point as it is a very well run and kept site, with plenty to do in the area.

This is a lovely campsite in a beautiful location.
They are careful not to over crowd, but are happy to have groups.
The owners are lovely and knowledgeable with local attractions and events.
The toilets are very clean and although their is a 50p charge for using the shower their is plenty of time and hot water before the timer runs out to do all that you need to.
We had a lovely time and would go back.

One of the nicest campsites that we've stayed at in over 40 years of camping. Beautifully landscaped and very friendly, with excellent amenities. Great to see a covered communal area, (particularly if you are in a tent); a rarity in the UK, but the norm in the antipodies. A short walk across the farm paths to the local village for access into the Quantock hills for stunning walks; and a good local pub which sells good value and quality meals, all day. We will definitely return to this site, which is something we don't often do.

This is a wonderfully manicured site and is one of the best looking we've stayed in, it's really well kept and was like staying in a manor house landscaped garden. The communal barbecue area is a great idea and although on our visit it seemed to be monopolised by an all male party, the provision of a communal fridge, and freezer was useful too. I cant't quite say the same for the wash rooms and particularly the showers which were a bit beyond their best and a bit ropy, the 50p thing is a bit tedious, particularly if the adjoining shower was being used because the flow went right down so it was hard to get showered, but once I realised this, I waited for the adjoining cubicle to finish before putting my 50p in! At 15 pounds a night for two of us in a tent it was actually about the right value, while the site is well kept, it's not exactly ideally located, you can do a few walks from there but ultimately you'll need to travel everywhere by car, and nothing seemed to be any closer than a 40 minute drive away. Also, the road noise from the nearby A39 got a bit annoying, but no doubt un-noticeable in a caravan. The only reason I'd choose not to go back is because of its location.
There are two pubs nearby; The Plough is a 15 minute walk and does the regular range of pub meals but very fresh and tasty and better than average, and perfectly priced; we ate there 3 times, (probably best to book for a Friday or Saturday) and I'd describe it is a real 'honest' and friendly pub. Definitely go there! The other pub is The Hood Arms which is in the opposite direction from the campsite than The Plough, and while it's within walking distance you'd be taking your life in your hands by walking as it'll require walking along the busy main road. Best to drive there instead. Again, very good food and friendly service, but a little more expensive, and more of a restaurant feel to it, and certainly worth a visit.

A 4 night stay could easily have stretched to 7. What a lovely little campsite. Very reasonable prices, especially the EHU, we spent less than £4 over 4 days, and had all our creature comforts going that we needed. Owners were very nice and accommodating, but not over-fussing. We were left to our own devices but help was easily at hand if needed. Toilets & showers perfectly good. Fairly quiet site, which we prefer anyway. But easy to access surrounding villages, towns and upwards if needed. We will return. Thank you Jane for a lovely stay.
