Recommended by friends for this camp site, then found it on the internet search engine.
Our friends were totally right. The camp site is on a farm and run by a couple who treat you as family/friends.
The pitches are very spacious and the grass is kept very neat ( this can also be a problem as when we were there it rained quite a lot and the grass tended to be trudged into the caravan).
The toilet block male/female were very good especially with the amount of grass around, showers @50p gave plenty enough hot water and time for a good shower.
Although no facilities on site i.E. Shop, club room/bar. The facilities around that area were excellent with shops, pub/restaurants and a good variety of walks on the Quantocks and a short drive to Exmoor with many more.
Would recommend this campsite to anyone.

Just returned from our first visit to this site and were very impressed. It is a well laid out site and easy to access with a large unit and the actual pitches are spacious and easy to manoeuvre into as well. Very well maintained with fabulous toilets and showers and the site owners were always on hand to assist. Magnificent views and good areas designated for dog walking.A great atmosphere with everyone being really happy which is a good sign. A couple of good pubs nearby especially the Hood Arms at Kilve. The site is conveniently situated to explore the north Devon area both inland and the coast. We will be going back, regularly.

Wow, what a fantastic find! We booked this site as we wanted somewhere cheap and relatively close to home with lots to do for the weekend, and we were not disappointed. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The shower block is clean (the showers cost 50p for hot water) and stocked with soap and paper towels. There is a large mirror but no plug points for hairdryers!
The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful - close to the beaches, Quantock Hills and Exmoor there is so much to do within a short drive or even walk.
The campsite has lovely, large pitches separated by a few trees and there is a real feeling of space. Everything is well maintained and the rubbish area is separated into bins for recycling.
We paid £12 a night which is fantastic value, although there are no 'facilities' apart from the wash block on site this doesn't matter if you are looking for a relaxed, friendly stay and there is so much to do nearby. We left the campsite at 10am in the morning and filled our day to arrive back around 5.30pm in time for a barbecue. Our 2 year old son really enjoyed himself, especially looking for the resident peacock!
We loved it so much we have booked to go back for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Went to this site over second may bank holiday weekend. On the face of it, very nice site. It's flat with a shower block and laundry facilities. We'd booked a premium pitch at £12 per night - advertised as use of electric hook up. What was not explained was that she decided how much electric you could have and then if you went over you had to pay more - we went with our parents and stayed an extra night and was given the same amount of credit.
We had one rainy day while we were there and decided to leave the dog at the tent (tethered) and take the kids to a local soft play centre, while we were gone - 3 hrs - the dog got himself tangled up in the bushes, when we got back the farmer was waiting for us and said that if we left the dog again he would call the RSPCA!
The showers were 50p for about 4 mins of hot water, the washing machine took 2 pound coins for a load, the tumble dryer only took 50p pieces and £3 later still not dry.

What a lovely site, quiet, peaceful with lovely views of the Quantock Hills and surrounding area. Moorhouse was recommended to us by friends who had visited the site on many occasions, so as the weather had improved we decided to visit.
We spent a week at the end of August 2008 and had a lovely stay. The site is immaculate, and really well looked after. The Toilet and shower block was always clean (I didn't see any spiders!)and the laundry room really useful.
Pitches were really generous and well space out with plenty of room to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. We spoke to campers on site who had been visiting this site for years, so that's the best recommendation you could have.
Dogs were welcome provided they were kept under control and there is a really good 'dog walk' around the farm.
There is a shop at Kilve nearby and numerous shops and a Post office at Nether Stowey.
I would recommend the Plough at Holford for a good pub meal.
If you enjoy walking or cycling, or just want a quiet relaxing stay in beautiful countryside this is a good site to visit and I would gladly recommend it.

This was a very basic site, we were the only tent on the park (except for the DoE kids who apparently frequent the site and can get quite excitable). I have to say I loved the views over the Quantock hills every morning and the couple who live on the site, (i'm not sure of their names, but they lent me a colinder)were lovely and chatty and friendly.
But apart from that I'm afraid to say I was dissapointed with this site. The showers were dirty and filled with creepy crawlies. Now I know it's camping but I object to dodging spiders when I'm trying to wash myself.
The toilets were a long way from where the actual camping fields were (i.E the non electric field) which seemed beyond me as it was the caravans who were nearer and I was always under the impression they has slightly more facilities on board than Tents but whatever.
I also felt that 50p for the 5 minute showers was stingy as it was quite difficult to control them and one of them stuck in the mens bathroom meaning my other half wasted 50p trying to turn the blasted thing on!
In all I would say that this is an ok site if you are in a caravan or motor home and dont need to use the facilities much.
The local area was however lovely, The little villages along the a39 are beautiful and the beaches and cliffs at Kilve are defo worth a look (you might find a fossil too!)There are a couple of shops within driving distance the nearest one being in Kilve next to the hood arms, which has a lovely garden. It has recently been taken over by a new couple and they seem nice (well we got free drinks off them anyway!). Dunster is also well worth a look as is Blue Anchor, which, if you go to Watchet (nice harbour) is on the other road out (not the a39)
Finally the prices
As of July '08 the Tent pitch is £10 and caravan is £12 a night (i think but dont hold me to it!)

Have just spent week at this site, even though it is basic it is really well looked after and is in beautiful surroundings. What a find! Pitches are generous and separated by a couple of small trees. Grass is well kept, and the campers have their own field to camp in. Run by a lovely couple Jane and Terry, and we met a couple who'd been returning there for 12 years, so it must be good. Shower and toilet block is immaculate, but remember to take a stock of 50p's with you for the showers. One coin is enough for a quick shower though. The surrounding area is full of things to do; A39 is main coast road along to Minehead and Lynton/Lynmouth. Good pubs with small play paks for kids nearby; The Hood Arms, Kilve The Butchers Arms, Carhampton Good place for cream teas; The Chantry, Kilve (1/2 mile down lane towards beach) Good beach at Minehead, also one at Dunster but this is a bit pebbly but not as busy as Minehead. If you fancy a drive out to north Devon, Croyde Bay beach is beautiful.
